re: set 7869, (the geonosis set with Luminara and Rex) That's not a proton cannon, it's a dwarf spider droid. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dwarf_Spider_Droid

Lord_Bloodwort posted a topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi everyone, I don't know how "NEW" this news is, but i just found it today at Zellers in Winnipeg. They had the Lego City Advent Calendar for $39.99, and i figured i could give people a head's up who might want one. :) -

So was i when i found the one i bought a couple years ago! I also found it again at another location, so it wasn't a fluke! :D -
Zellers= Canadian version of Target..at least Toys-wise. I found the Geonosis SW 2 pks today, and on a more relevant topic, i found the City Advent Calendar as well. I posted it already in the City section before i was redirected here. :)

I've noticed that too, but SOMEONE there likes Advent Calendars! LOL I got the 2008 (i believe) City one there as well. $40 bucks is a little rich for my blood at the moment though *sigh* I found this one at Polo Park, whereas the one i bought a couple years ago was at Grant Park. Go figure... :P Never hurts to go back now and then...never know what you'll find! :D -
*squees like a little girl* OMFG I LOVE IT!!!  *blinks and clears his throat* I mean...excellent work! LOL seriously though, Battlepods (and Robotech/Macross) has been one of my favorite Anime/mecha since i was like 6 yrs old...Yes, that was a long-ish time ago, despite how i opened this post LOL Not crazy about the pilot figure personally, but the Pod itself more than makes up for it!

I agree they need to redo the other TIE Fighters (not just the basic "eyeball") in gray, preferably with the Defender pilot helmet as well. Vader's TIE needs wingmen! :D I'm really surprised that for such an iconic ship, it hasn't been remade constantly the way Vader's TIE has been (seriously, there's like 3 versions of Vader's aren't there?)

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Lord_Bloodwort replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi everyone. I've been trying to find the thread for a custom i saw awhile back. I've tried going back through the threads here, but have come up empty, so I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for the thread someone posted about using one or more of the Clone Scout Walker battle packs to make a fully enclosed, (possibly single seat) AT-ST out of the Walker. Thanks a bunch! :D -
How did i get into LSW? I was searching through Zellers in March 2005 to see if they had any new Episode III toys out yet, when i came upon the "Grievous Wheelbike Chase" set. Not only was it out 2 weeks early, the price was mislabeled, so when it rang up at 29.99, i pointed to the price sticker that read "7.97". I went back the next day to see if i could find another deal, but all the episode III stuff had all been taken down. After that, i got a V-Wing, then a TIE Interceptor, and a couple older sets (Boba's Slave I, and Obiwan's JSF) from a friend of mine on the local SW collecting board. Since i don't have much room for full sets, i just collect the minifigures.

And probably what they'll look like when they do the Saga in 3D come 2012...Still kind of on the fence about the CW look though...don't entirely HATE it, but not crazy about it either.

LOVE it! :D If TLG made one even HALF as good as this i'd buy it!
-
Fantastic work! :D It could also work as a Delta DX-9 Stormtrooper Transport as well (or a CW Precursor) : http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Stormtrooper_Transport Very nicely done either way!

Expanded Universe Update: 3 new MINI models
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I can only pray TLG does a figure sized Skipray Blastboat...it's one of my favorite mid-size ships (larger than a standard starfighter, but still smaller than a blockade runner) Your mini is a thing of utter beauty! Heck, all three are great, but my favorite is the Skipray. :) -
Rock Monster Keyring Removal Procedure
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Siegfried's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I don't have pics, but i've yanked the pin in my ahsoka, and she turned out all right. The horns are glued on though. I mangled the fin on Rex's helmet as well. If you take a thin bladed knife, you can sometimes cut the glue seal holding the hips on. You just have to be extremely careful. I wound up cutting ol Rex in half. Fortunately, a quick head and arm swap onto a regular clone figure (and some superglue on the bisected clone) and they're both good as new! Just can't get Rex's helmet off. The rest of my keyring minifigs have just had the rings snapped off, 2 Royal Guards, Chewie, Boba Fett and R2. -
That particular combination (TIE Cockpit with X-wing Wings) is called a "Chir'daki", or Deathseed. It was introduced in the Rogue Squadron novel "The Krytos Trap", and is of Twi'lek manufacture. as described here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Deathseed Personally i think it would be awesome in Lego form, as would the Tri-fighters used by Admiral Tavira's pirate fleet. (TIE Cockpit, but with three half interceptor wings arranged around the ball, giving it the nickname "Clutch"

I gotta go against the grain here, and give the nod to Arealight. The CW style Aayla TLG did is ok, but the AL one looks more like a saga, ie: "real" Aayla, like the difference between the 4 inch lines. In the negative column, i have to say that while i know they are custom pieces, how much more expensive would it have been really to include the arms and legs? Sure they include visors or other oddball bits as freebies, but i would have just as soon taken limbs. Plus they (AL) have also done other Twi'leks that will pretty much NEVER be made by TLG. As much as i would love to see an "Official" Darth Talon, i really doubt they'll go into the Legacy Comic books, especially since the run is ending soon.

[MOC] UCS Alpha-3 Nimbus Interceptor
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love the V-Wing to begin with, but this just makes it even better! -
They look great! They remind me more of the Corporate Sector Authority's IRD Starfighters more than TIEs though. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/IRD-A_starfighter Either way, great work! Especially on the base!

If you have a spare rebel trooper from the rebel battlepack from 2008 i believe, (the Tantive IV crew ones) The arms match up perfectly for the Aayla/Sand Blue Torso. Also Lego Castle Trolls or Indiana Jones Russian Troopers arms and legs match up for the Oola/Sand Green torso. The prices are ok, but 15 bucks for just a head, headdress and torso is a bit pricey, IMO. Especially if you don't have spare parts laying around. Yes they're very nicely printed and molded custom pieces, but still. Can't wait to see how the AL Aayla stacks up to the "Official" TLG Aayla. :)

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Of the ones i HAVE: Flesh Slave Leia Cantina Han Minifig Keychain C-3P0 Farmboy Luke (the only figure i have with printed legs aside from Han at this time) Chrome Silver Stormie (shiny FTW! *droools* ) Of the ones i DON'T have: Cloud City Boba Fett Jango Fett Printed Leg Stormie Shiny Gold 3P0 and an awesome custom made Shaak Ti someone in germany was selling this time last year on eBay...30 bucks for one minifigure was just WAY outta my price range. She looked so awesome though! Straight out of LSW: the Game! -
Even in Brick form, she's Magically Delicious! *ducks the hail of lego produce* XD
-
Just to nitpick, but it's ADMIRAL Yularen...The Boba Fett face is great though!
