I'm hoping for a set (maybe a battle pack) with the sand red Geonosis battle droids; they only appeared in the 2003 version of the Geonosian Fighter so it's about time they show up in a set again. Some non-CW EpII clone troopers would also be nice.
-
And let's not forget to hope for a new, non-CW Dooku (now that would be a minifig to hope for).

Sand Green Minifig Arms Cracking Easily
DarkFader replied to DarkFader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nope, no removal of hands or arms. I did see the beginning of the torso crack when I first noticed the crack in the arm (there seemed to be a slight rupturing mark one the side of the torso but I honestly didn't think it would actually develop more and finally create a complete crack). In short, the sand green minifigure plastic is definitely not as strong as the other types of plastic used for minifigures so I'd recommend you guys to keep an eye out for your collection of minifigures with sand green parts, just in case there would be any crackage. -
I'm definitely looking forward to the set names; they will surely provide some good speculation.

Sand Green Minifig Arms Cracking Easily
DarkFader replied to DarkFader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here's a bit of an update: Today, the torso of said Frodo minifig developed a crack in it, going from the bottom and almost up to the arm socket so there definitely is a problem with sand green minifig arms and even torsos. I think I will contact customer service soon. -
REVIEW: LEGO Star Wars 9496 – Desert Skiff
DarkFader replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lookin at the pics in your review again, Kiel, I now noticed that you forgot the dark grey hinge piece that goes under the base of the plank (I admit that I also missed attaching it as well when I built my copy; thought it was strange with such a spare piece so I figured something was wrong). -
REVIEW: LEGO Star Wars 9496 – Desert Skiff
DarkFader replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great review with great pics. Ironically, I got this set earlier today and it's great (a definite improvement over the previous two incarnations); it's got four solid and detailed minifigs, a really cool vehicle (I've always liked the skiff design) and the Sarlacc pit as well. It's definitely one of the most priceworthy sets in a while since it gives a lot of bang for the buck or so to speak. -
Will there even be a second wave?
-
It's great; you really captured this scene well (you should take on the ad with the aliens giving thumbs up )
-
I definitely like your SW mocs made with non-license pieces and this is no exception; thumbs up. (Btw, where does the torso you used for Anakin come from?)
-
I'd definitely want a trandoshan hoverpod (their designs were pretty cool); it would make a great $19.99 set.
-
Solid review. As for myself, I got this set a couple of weeks ago and it's a very neat little set with two nice minifigs. (Btw, did anyone else get an extra batarang as a spare in the set?)
-
Solid work done with this one; I like the articulation you put into it. I built my own Nexu MOC last year and I also used levers as the spikes (albeit completely black ones) and I also used the same technique for the eyes as you.
-
Looks great and funny as well, but it seems like he's missing the hairs atop his head and the zigzag hair above his ear; otherwise it's solid.
-
I remember the Dino-Rider's series & the toys and these MOCs look really cool; I'd love if you'd try to take on the T-Rex.
-
Thanks for the SW advice, guys; I got the cannon today and I'm definitely satisfied with it.

Monster Fighters 2012
DarkFader replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really like the look of this theme and I am definitely looking forward to seeing these on the shelves; I think my favorite minfig from it so far must be the funky-looking swamp monster and I'm glad to see that he comes in the cheapest set. -
Hi, you guys; I need some advice of which Star Wars set to buy: the 9490 Droid Escape or the 9491 Geonosian Cannon. I'm a fan of all the six movies as well as the The Clone Wars series so it doesn't really matter so much if it's sandtroopers or geonosians; I just want the one of the two sets which gives the most 'bang for the buck' or so to say.
-
I agree with the others; it's a really nice build (I understand the scrap thing, but isn't the color of a narglatch supposed to be more of a blue type?)
-
Really nice review of the new ewok set, The Penguin; it's almost as good as the one I did back in the end of May The extra pics are pretty funny too so good job done. Those ewoks are great.
-
You're thinking of Brontosaurus; Apatosaurus is what it is called nowadays As for the theme itself, I think it sounds really interesting and if it were a continuation of the Pharaoh's Quest theme (in the same sense as the Adventurer's Dino theme) I would probably find this even more interesting.

Hi everyone; today I picked up one of the new Star Wars sets that has been released in some stores here in Sweden and it is now without further hindrance I present to you my review of set number 7956 - Ewok Attack (which I already knew would be the first set of the new wave of sets I was gonna get): Set Name: Ewok Attack Set Number: 7956 Theme: Star Wars Movie: Return Of The Jedi Year Released: 2011 Number of Pieces: 166 Minifigs: 3 Price: 29.99 EUR / 24.99 USD The Box So here is the front of the box which nicely displays the set in action; the size od the box is the same as the 7929 Battle Of Naboo set: And here is the back which shows the play features and also, three other sets are shown as small pictures on the side: the Dathomir Speeder (7957), the Geonosian Starfighter (7959) and Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator (7961); a small ad for the Lego Star Wars III game is also present: The top of the box: And here is the left side: Contents The contents of the box, which includes four bags and the instruction manual: And here I have taken the pieces out of their bags and left them in their respective piles: The two ewok heads in their bags in which they come packaged in (the heads are made of a harder type of plastic like the recent gungan heads from the Battle Of Naboo set): Two random pages of the instruction book followed by the next-to-last pages where we can see half of the piece inventory list and a page with some of the other sets displayed there: Minifigures And now on to the minfigures (with their weapons), of which there are three: The ewok medicine man Logray (a really cool minifig with lovely printing and just look at that wonderful headdress topped with the bird skull), the ewok warrior Tokkat (who is also a very nice detailed minifig and it's good to see a more obscure ewok) and finally, the Scout Trooper (or Biker Scout as he also is called by some) who makes a reapperance in this set. All three are really good minifigs, especially the ewoks but also the Scout, which is a figure I've always liked: Speeder Bike The Scout Trooper's speeder bike is a solid vehicle which has been slightly altered from it's earlier incarnation which came in the 8038 Battle Of Endor set; I don't have that version of the speeder so that I can do an exact comparison, but I can say it's quite similar to the Hoth speeder bike in the 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack (comparison shot below): Ewok Attack Tree Yeah, I call it the attack tree because that's basically the first thing that comes to mind when I look at it. I'd say it's a little outpost the ewoks have made of a giant tree stump; it's got a ladder, a large stick that can be slid out towards enemies, a small catapult on top and a function that releases two small logs from it and a flick fire missile that is fired from the inside of the tree, which can be opened up a bit to reveal a hidden back compartment of sorts; one of my favorite aspects of the set is the foliage of dark green and light green leaves: The back of the tree with the back compartment opened up (you can see the flick fire missile loaded into the tree, ready to be fired at unsuspecting Imperial troopers): And here the compartment is closed shut for any sneaky Imperials: The left side of the tree: And the right side: The front with the back compartment closed: A top view of the tree: All in all, it's a sweet little build and the play features are nice as well, I bet kids (and AFOLs as well) can have a fun time with it. The Entire Set And here is a view of the entire set, with both the attack tree, the speederbike and the minfigures: And a bonus picture, in which the ewoks are sorely regretting the choice of having such a small falling log trap, much to the joy of the Scout Trooper: Final Verdict Design: 7/10 - The speeder bike is a nice vehicle and the feature-filled attack tree looks a bit funky, but it's still cool. I can't really complain about either, though. Build: 7/10 - It's not too hard but it is a fun build, especially the tree. Pieces: 8/10 - The several brown and some green pieces, including the foliage and the brown branches, are great additions to anyone's collection of bricks and I am sure there are many MOC-ing possibilites with the parts. As for the set itself, with some imagination it can be rebuilt into something else. Minifigs: 10/10 - The ewoks are definitely the stars of this set; they are cool molds, have great printing and while the scout is cool, he ends up playing second fiddle to the ewoks. Logray is definitively my favorite of the bunch and might be one of my all-time favorite Star Wars minifigs. Playability: 8/10 - The play functions quite obviously add a lot to the play factor. The set is definitely fun on it's own but in the company of more Endor sets and/ or related minifigs, it can become an even more fun set. Price: 7/10 - The price per parts ratio is not all that great, but there's a steady bunch of useful green, brown and some tan parts and the ewoks are a big reason why this set just might be worth it. Overall: 8/10 - I have to admit that I think this is a neat little playset with some fun play functions, great ewok minifigures (especially Logray), the obligatory bad guy and his nicely re-designed speeder bike; the set would also make a great companion to anyone's Battle Of Endor set. If you are a fan of ewoks and/or anything Endor-related, I would definitely recommend it. (Finally; thanks for reading my review of this brand new set)

Since I don't own the classic Santa minifigure included in such sets as the City advent calendars and because I think that minifig is a bit plain, I decided to create my own Santa Claus minifig: As you can see, this one is a bit more detailed than the official one and yet not too complicated. I hope you like it and comments are welcomed.
-
Before I put the minifig together I googled 'santa claus' to get some reference pictures just for the color of the hands and the results were mixed; some pics had him wearing white gloves, in others he wore black ones and in many he wore no gloves at all. At first I tried out the yellow hands but like you, they didn't give me the right impression and then I tried the white hands and I thought it looked a lot better; I will try out black ones and see how I think it fits. Good suggestion; I will try to obtain one of those sacks and put some tiles in there. Those are not bad ideas at all; I'll look into it later on and see what I can do.

It's a cool little polybag set and I wouldn't say no to lay my hands on one myself. Could you please tell which store was handing them out? (as a fellow swede, I'm a bit curious).
