i meant to say this earlier, but Warhammer does have a ton of fantasy races. And I know most lego fans don't like fantasy.
-
yo they should make the heroica microfigs into minfiigures!
-
I think he was just naming all the possible names people might call them. And if you swap legs with your dwarves you get goblins! I wanted to get into warhammer but decided against it, since for lego no painting or gluing is required. And that means poses can be adjusted forever until the limbs become too loose to hold a pose. And you can swap out weapons, shields, and helmets forever. Unless the hands break.
-
I have zero oval shields too. And 3 of the round shields. from 2 drawbridge defense and one brickmaster castle. And 3 skeleton horses (from the same sets). and 2 black skeletons from the drawbridge defenses. I guess I will have to settle for what I have. Plus I have like 20 ninjago skeleotns and like 30 classic skeletons so that should be enough for now.

progress looks great! Really digging that room. And cool that the side wall is not identical to the front wall.
-
I am serous about lego for the first time, so i will make sure I buy plenty of soldiers and knights from the sets that have a ratio of 5 dollars or less per minfigure. Preferably the cheaper ones, but escape from dragon's prison is excellent with the horse barding.
-
but if you want to get technical, most people don't consider the skeletons real minifigures. And they are worth around 1-2 dollars compared to the 3 dollars regular minfiigures are. The use of skeletons no doubt saved lego money for those sets. Still those sets were incredibly cheap for army building even if you threw out the skeletons.

This guy pickyourbrick has solid prices (at least for some minifigures). The only problem is that they keep everything in some giant warehouse which causes bigger pieces to get scratched up and real dirty. Like horses. Minifigures are mostly fine but the armpits are scratched. And all minfigiure parts are incredibly stiff. I only bought his castle minfigiures so maybe its only for older minfigures that has that problem. Although I should complain and stuff, I don't really care because at the end of the day its solid prices for discontinued minfiigures. I cleaned up most of the dirtiness and the rest is not noticeable at a distance which is fine because I intend on building large armies.
-
probably just inflation (all prices has increased for lego recently). But I looked at brickset for prices of mifigiures for castle fantasy and WOW. lots of the small sets had a ratio of 2-3 dollars per minfiigure. While for Kingdoms, its more like 3-5 dollars per minifigure for the small sets.

REVIEW: 2254 Mountain Shrine
ziljin replied to Velika314's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am tempted to get this set soley for the dragon sword and ax clips as bonus. The sword is 5+ USD on bricklink ugh. Might get cheaper later, but still a few dollars for one weapon. That's the cost of a minifgure! At least the set comes with other bricks. -
The crown knight horse barding has the same gap as the lion knight horse bardings? Well the Final Joust one. The Skeleton Tower one covers the entire piece. EDIT: Wow I got so many of these, yet I never even noticed the Dragon Knight Horse barding is lacking the middle detail.
-
Nice army Ogre! I wish I had boughten more battlepacks! Oh well. And wish they made a cheap joust set like they did for castle 2007. my dragon knight heavy cavalry greatly outnumber my lion knight heavy cavalry. EDIT: I also try to have the checkerboard armor as "light" armor for crossbows and light infantry (put them on horse and you get light cavalry!). and then having the chainmail as "medium" armor for medium infantry. and knights with their platemail torsos count as heavy infantry. And the armor pieces count as super heavy infantry! Although it's should be similar to platemail (or worse since its only a breastplate?) but aesthetically it looks like "more" armor so I will count it as super heavy armor.

the crown knight bardings, and think every crown knight, lion knight and dragon knight that comes with horse barding comes with oval shield. but the ebay seller did not include the oval shield. =(. And for one horse barding, did not include the gold horse helmet! or even the knight. =(.

made of pieces from the following sets: 15+ Escape from Dragon's Prisons, Garmadon's Dark Fortress, Prison Tower Rescue, 5 Blacksmith Attacks
-
Got my from ebay. I should have around 40 trolls and 40 crown knights by now. hopefully more. Horses are rather scratched up and dirty though.
-
Yea I do! I am just missing 1 to make 20. I should get that last one. I would love to get more, but right now focusing on getting more crown knights and trolls. For crown knights I recently reached 20 horse bardings, but not enough knights (I have plenty of the non-printed armor piece though so I could make generic knights) or horse helmets, and only 1 oval shield to outfit them.
-
Good point Artanis I. Stiff is better than loose. They were setting in a warehouse since at least 2009. Maybe longer even. Can loose minifigures stiffen over time then? Ah I see brickdoctor. Well even if I considered these minfigs used (might as well be) they are still solid prices.
-
How about when you create something based on the lego official set design? That's what I did for my dragon knight castle.
-
They are trolls and crown knights. any idea on what causes them to stiffen? seller says these are new minfiigures straight out of the box, but has been sitting in storage for years (seeing as the minfiigures come from the castle theme of 2007-2009. Well those might be collectible(chess sets/battlepacks and whatnot, you can tell by the longer set numbers like 402859 instead of 5068) minifigures since they sometimes have different printing than official lego set minifigures. yes that is the neck printing I was referring to. Because some people complain that the non-standard quality collectible minifigures lack the neck printing. So neck printing implies standard quality lego minifig

great undead army, and nice castle army (KKI armies? I can't tell). Why so many Lion Princesses though? I don't see a multitude of Lion Knight Heavy Cavalry, so I am not sure if just bought multiples of the Prison Tower Rescue.

An Old Vagabond Ambushed By Ninjas MOC

that looks so awesome! -
Thanks, my original intention was so that it could be easy to carry. Being able to put stuff on the inside more easily is definitely a bonus.
-
probably in some bin collecting dust. I would like to see Madoka's castle armies, but I get the feeling that is never going to happen.
-
thanks a lot man. Well I did not have any green 16x16 baseplates. But the structure is not that sturdy since its split in half. And not nearly enough room to fit all of my dragon knights. I have like 70 in total. 80 if I can allocate some heads/helmets to my dragon knight torso/legs.
-
to save money on shields, you could use 2x2 round plates, or 2x3 plates, or 2x4 plates.
