Now all you have to do is rebuild it many times and take more pics and you have yourself a brickfilm.

I like the last one the best. Probably because it reminded me of Warhammer 40k Praetorian guard. Which are are obviously inspired by the real life versions.

This is great. Look forward to see more.

My Lego story "was I building Lego, or was Lego building me"
ziljin replied to allanp's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, that's an amazing story. But I am going to guess you are quite old or (your state/country/etc has different education requirements), since elementary schools (at least in NYC) have been requiring vision and hearing tests for 15+ years. If it isn't too personal, could you mention the school's name? I would like to see if I could read up on how terrible it was for curiosity's sake. -
I would say it has more to do with all the text messages, facebook, youtube, etc that is ruining children. They are too busy glued to their electronic devices, and ignore real life communications/contact. Making them less prepared for proper social contact. Thus all the disrespect/etc.

I had a dream that I was buying mass minifigs from some random person. Then I woke up to my lacking minifig collection. =(. I hate those kinds of dreams. Always disappointing upon waking.

It probably helps if you know what the original looks like.

MOC: Hill House; Homage to the Horror Genre
ziljin replied to einsteinonthebeach's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well most ignorant people (mainly the inquisition/etc) saw pagans as heretics, satanists, etc. -
I personally don't mind. I don't like super gorey violence, but regular violence is fine by me. All fictional of course. Real life violence I frown upon. But as long as its "fake", it doesn't really matter to me if its cartoon or realistic violence.

This is awesome. Gundam is great. Making it compatible with a mobile suit would be incredible.

I would say its for multiple reasons. Most have been mentioned in this topic. It's considered manly to build stuff. So parents/society encourage boys to play with manly toys. And they discourage girls from playing with manly toys. Then the nature vs nurture stuff kicks in. Most children will obey their parents and the society rules as they grow up and fall into those preset gender roles. And then a small minority(say less than 50%) will insist on doing whatever they want. Thus the high ratio of males playing with lego vs females playing with lego.

There are mice/ants but they are only after the food. Height doesn't appear to be an obstacle for them. Never found any in my room except flies/mosquitos. Reading the first post, it sounded like a children's movie. Mice using a lego structure as their own home with supplies.

I have been using the plastic bags that the lego sets came with, and some bags from gundam model kit purchases, and a few of those air bags(box fillers) cut in half for smaller pieces. I just started stacking my bricks so that they are one solid piece in storage. This means no loose pieces, so less likely to go missing when I take pieces out for building. More organized since all the bricks are together, which makes it easier if I just want mass of one brick type. Doesn't work too well with slopes though, so far its great for bricks, and arches. Plates vary, 1x# works great, but bigger ones get too tight if stacked, so I just put them together but only on one row of studs for easy removal.

I think either the heads and/or torsos have slightly different sizes. And over time it will probably loosen. I bought a bunch of Fantasy Era castle sets recently. Some heads are real tight, and some are just right.
-
My cousin just got the City Tow Truck set yesterday. When I built it, I noticed the nifty blue chair brick. Then saw that it only has two studs. I thought I am sure it will be properly seated. But lo and behold, the minifig gets loose rather easily. That's a shame. I still want to buy the set for myself though.

Lego Chair piece not that great for minifigs?
ziljin replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
'I moved the chair to the center of my cousin's towtruck and it seems the window/door was cramping up the minifig/chair and was making it not as tight as it should have been. You could try that. Unless you think the driver in the middle of the car is wierd. -
You know that silver spiky piece? Anyone else have trouble getting the wagon's front wheels to move with it on? I just took it off out of frustration.
-
That's what I thought when I first opened up my first Fantasy Era set. You could even use the torsos for a more barbaric look.
-
it can be reused by future alien minfigs. They seem to be more into the human vs alien theme now. Or you could use it as post apoc biker gang helmets.

Well that's inevitable. Assuming Marvel Comics goes on forever (a big if), they have to retcon a bunch of stuff, after hundreds of issues, maintaining continuity is quite difficult. They have to bring back most(not all) dead characters at some point. It's easier for them to bring back a popular dead character than creating a brand new one. And most of their comics aren't even that violent. Except the Marvel Max line.

I'm wondering about soldier helmets...
ziljin replied to bub166's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Not sure if Germans used Green uniforms. But upcoming Toy Story line will have lego army men. And there is Brickforge -
I am waiting until George Lucas decides to recreate it all in CGI and connecting the clone war stuff.
-
Unless you skipped out on work to do this, I would guess zero. But that's awesome. I might make a lego ruler out of all those cardboard boxes I have lying around.
-
Well hopefully they will eliminate older parts that have been made obsolete by newer ones and burps/poops. And hopefully the mould reduction means less expensive kits and/or more bricks per set.

Here is my current army. Around half standard equipped, and other half customized a bit. Skeletons Humans + Dwarves Trolls Leftover weapons, guess I should buy more minifigs. Pseudo hoplite formation Crownies armed in similar formation The rest of the pics.
