    LEGO Ultra Agents 2014

Personally, I'm hoping for a completely new character/entity instead of borrowing one from another theme. I could be a bit biased since I'm not a big fan of the Ninjago series/canon, but I think the mystery villain is an original character. I'm wondering if all the villains are meant to be connected or if it's just Terabyte and Psyclone working under the hooded figure?

Just bought every set from the wave minus the Mission HQ this weekend, only set I still haven't got around to building thus far is the Infearno Interception. Hurricane Heist is by far one of the best sets I've bought in a long time, I'm loving the stand-alone villains. I'm not sure if it's been noted or not, but in the Heist set you get a sticker showing Psyclone in cahoots with some type of hooded figure, and after watching a review for the Mission HQ that same hooded figure appears on the screen of the laptop Terabyte is trying to steal. So I'm assuming there's some type of behind the scenes villain pulling the strings, hopefully we'll see more of that in a second wave.

Where is Ultron's signature grin? Forgive me for jumping the gun and being too critical, but Ultron has always been my favorite comic villain and it just isn't Ultron with a weird face like that, no way in hell. I'm hoping it's just a drone or he'll possibly upgrade later. Visually this looks like a lot like his awful Ultimate counterpart.

Oh man, that's freaking awesome. I'm guessing that's something you have to unlock? D2C Thanoscopter to go with the final Avengers film. Make it happen Lego.

I typically prefer buildings, but if it's an actual vehicle such as the Fantasticar or the Punisher Van I'd be 100% game. Given how many original/obscure vehicles the Marvel theme sees I'll be severely disappointed if we never see the Thanoscopter. All I want before this license expires is an ugly yellow helicopter that says "THANOS".

See, I tell myself "I can use most of these parts for something" just so I don't think that exact same thing. Reminds me of those old toybiz Spider Man toys where he was riding an atv or piloting a helicopter. Why Spider Man will ever need such vehicles I cannot say. Certainly explains how I feel about the fig.

Yeah, I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. I never bought a set with the sole intention of getting a Spidey, within a bit over year I've ended up with four. He just always seems to be included with other desirable minifigs. Like the Daily Bugle, that's just overall a fantastic build and the minifigs rock. The only 2014 Marvel set I share the same sentiment for is the Smash Lab. I know a lot of people don't like the build but I love weird gimmicky playsets, and all the figs were top notch.

Caved in and picked up the Electro set, impulse buy of the day. Electro is pretty neat and trike has a few nice pieces I can use, on the downside I'm starting to accumulate enough Spider Men to reenact the God-awful clone saga. I'm really hoping they start giving us variations of his costume soon enough. While looking at Electro I came to the conclusion I'd freaking love a Ghost minifig. I'm talking about the Dark Reign/Thunderbolts version, I feel like that costume would beautifully translate to minifig form.

I feel the same way. It seems in most of Deathstroke's recent appearances it's more of a helmet, but I think it'd look better as a printed head. My main fear of Deathstroke using a unique helmet mold like Iron Man's is him suffering from the bobblehead look. It doesn't look as bad on Iron Man in person, but it's still very large.

For me, it's not that I feel "threatened" by the existence of more options. I just don't like it when new options completely replacing the old well established characters. The Nova corps is huge, replacing the face of the organization with an adolescent feels unnecessary and forced. Kind of like when Kyle Rayner replaced Hal Jordan for a while. If I wanted to read a comic about some angsty/quirky kid who got powers I'd read Spider Man. I suppose the fact I'm already indifferent to young superheroes doesn't help. But I don't think Lego even needs to make Richard his own minifig given how close of a match the Nova minifig is to the original costume. All I did to make my own Richard Rider Nova was throw on some yellow arms/different legs, bam.

Hell yes, I'll take Zemo, Kang and Carnage any day of the week. Sadly Kang is one of those characters who doesn't have a whole lot of exposure outside of comics, so I don't think we'll be seeing him any time too soon. I'd say Zemo, Carnage, Vulture and Leader could likely appear in minifig form yet. I'm really hoping the winter/2015 lineup looks better on both DC and Marvel fronts. I'm more of a Marvel guy, but I own quite a few DC sets and I can't see myself buying any of the new sets, most of the builds aren't that appealing and the sets lack unique/new figs in my opinion. When I say unique/new I mean characters we haven't seen before, perhaps one day when they're done making endless variants of their current minifig lineup we'll see some guys like Onomatopoeia and Azrael.

I'm with you. The whole prospect of young/teenage superheroes has always been really unappealing to me, especially when one replaces a bamf like Richard Rider. I just modified my Nova minifig a bit to make him Richard. I'm kind of hoping if they continue the Ultimate Spidey line they introduce more new villains like the first wave did, not just unnecessary rehashes. The 2014 Spider Man sets are all an easy pass for me. I'm still holding out for Kraven, Mysterio and Scorpion(gotta be Mac Gargan).

I honestly feel the exact same way, man. One could make a case for the new Doc Ock since it's without a doubt the most definitive version, but it still feels like a bit of a wasted slot along with bigfig Green Goblin. Kraven, Lizard, Shocker, Mysterio, Vulture, all of those would have been great new alternatives. At least Electro is a unique fig, even if I'm not too big on the look. I gotta say, compared to last years Spider Man sets, this year has been weak. Last year we saw three new villains and two new heroes added to the roster, compared to this years one new villain and one new hero. I'd assume the amount of new characters would increase per year.. Maybe there will be one or two new sets we don't know of in some sort of winter wave, but I'm not holding my breath. Also I completely agree on the Spidey variants. I'd like some new suits that aren't going to be overpriced con exclusives.

I'm hoping they release multiple variations of him like they did with Iron Man. Ultron has always been my favorite comic villain, so for me it'd be great to have a few different versions. Also something I felt like sharing, when I stopped by the Lego Store last weekend I noticed both the Hydra tank and Smash Lab were incredibly low in stock or not even in stock(I had to call early that morning to put a Lab on hold since they were selling out), but all three Spidey sets looked almost untouched. Same thing when I went to Toys R Us later that same day, low stock on both Avengers sets but a pretty good amount of Spidey. I'm personally starting to think the sets may be slowly loosing their appeal, but that's just my opinion. Anybody else have a similar experience?

This. I couldn't agree more. I need at least 5 or 6 of them for my heroes to bash on. I'm loving the Hydra Tank and Smash Lab. I'm a sucker for tanks and play sets, especially when they include dope villains. Taskmaster goes great with Deadpool, him and MODOK are both great to have in minifig form. I love when Lego does more obscure villains than the typical Loki, Magneto, Doom and Venom. I really hope they release Ultron, Klaw, Annihilus, Grim Reaper and Carnage before the license ends.
