[MOD] Imperial Shuttle and two First order TIE
mordatre replied to mordatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ok, that was easier than I thought. Here´s the .lxf for one wing. Both wings are exactly the same. :) mordatreshuttlewing.lxf -
[MOD] Imperial Shuttle and two First order TIE
mordatre replied to mordatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks. I downloaded your stand and will try to build it when I get some spare time. I believe I have all the peices and I have not modified the underside so it should fit without problem. Next time I tear the shuttle down I will probably remove the hatch since I will never use it. -

Thanks. If I find some spare time this weekend I might do the wings in LDD. -
[MOD] Imperial Shuttle and two First order TIE
mordatre replied to mordatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I took a few pictures during the build. One included in this post. Look into my Flickr album for one more photo of the wings. There is room for improvement as the bricks closest to the body aren´t supported by technic pins. They stay in place no problem but if you bump into them they will fall off. The scale of the wings aren´t exactly the same beacuse of the different angle of the slopes and the wedge plates. I thought it was Close enough. The wings use the same bent technic liftarms to attach to the body as the official set, so no you do not need to take it all apart. Unless you want the liftarms to be white. Tanks. I do not use LDD when I build so unfortunately no parts list. The WIP-photos show how the wings are built. shuttlemods02 by mordatre, on Flickr shuttlemods03 by mordatre, on Flickr -
About Luke. Surprised no one made a black Kylo Ren shuttle yet.

Your First order standard TIE Fighter inspired me to make my own. I based it on 75101 to make it similar to my official 75101 but I also liked the way 75101 attached the wings. I also made it 2 studs wider. Next up is giving my 75101 white panels as well. fotie1 by mordatre, on Flickr

[MOD] Wing and landing gear for Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle
mordatre replied to Master Chief's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great to see some working mods. I think the Lego designer did a pretty good job with what he had available, and now it´s up to us to mod it. Who´s first to make a black one and a white one? -
Having built some of the sets yesterday and today I did upload some photos to Flickr. Not really the most awesome photos though. Also did compare the new Tie fighter to the older 9492. Their dimensions are the same, but the new one uses alot more parts in the cockpit area which makes it heavier. Also, new wing connection is sturdier. dayonepurchase2 by mordatre, on Flickr tiecompare2 by mordatre, on Flickr

One of the new "Gunners" in Kylo Ren´s shuttle has a Brown head. Not sure if it´s new.

Just built this at home and I really like it. Sure it would be great if it included the beach ball but it´s none the less a good set. Got it for 30% off so I guess I´m satisfied.

Review: 21121 Minecraft Desert Outpost
mordatre replied to mostlytechnic's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Interesting review. I believe Minecraft is a victim of getting too "big", and now also owned by Microsoft. Then it´s suddenly not cool to like it, unlike when it was a small underground game. Luckily for Lego and Mojang/Microsoft, their target audience with Minecraft doesn´t giva a sh*t. (Their target audience are kids by the way). I enjoy the game and I find the Lego sets very pleasing. Not only do I get Lego versions of characters and Mob´s, I get alot of big plates, bricks and tiles in uncommon and useful colours. Designwise this set has a lot of flaws and the designer didn´t really succeed trying to create a larger build with limited pieces. The cobblestone wall should be made out of two "brick" bricks on top of each other instead of a 2x2 a the bottom. The snotted tiles on the walls makes no sense and the roof is a waste of bricks. I do however like the fence windows, sand blocks (2x2 bricks with 2x2 jumperplate, easier to remove when simulting digging/mining), the boat and the tamed wolf. By the way the swinging panel is a fence gate. And as of version 1.9, Steve will be able to use two items at the same time. :) Now, I realise I sound like a socially handicapped nerd defending Linux against Windows, but I just wanted to add my opinion. Last weekend I spent three days building a Lego Minecraft landscape on fourteen 32x32 baseplates during a public event. The clueless parents had to drag their excited children away from my bulding session. So I belive and hope we havn´t seen the end of Lego Minecraft. -
In the outer rim territory a small research outpost inhabited by scientists and engineers recieve reinforcements from the 212th Battlion to help defend their research from pirates. Not so long ago I posted pics of my "Clone Research Outpost". At the time I was forced to keep it to a certain size. Now I have reworked the base foundation to include lighting and added a total area of 3 baseplates. I felt it deserved it´s own topic instead of adding pics to the old thread. Set 75021 Republic Gunship have some modifications to it but is otherwise the official set. I made the modifications in a hurry so it needs some more work. The AT-AP is based on the 7671 AT-AP but it is heavily modified to look more like the movie version. A eLite Jr. kit is built into the landing platform and flashes in sequence. Some other Lifelites products are installed throughout the build and a picture in low light environment is included at the end. In my Flickr album you can find som more pictures. Thanks for all the comments! It´s rather relaxing to build with the vibrant Friends colors when I usually build mocs in Star Wars Bley. :)

This second module (to the right) has been finished for some time but now I got around to take some pictures. The left module have some more pictures in my Flickr album. I probably won´t continue to add modules to this build because it consumes alot of parts when snot-ing the entire base. Still annoying there aren´t more male minidolls. Though Heartlake seems like the perfekt Town to visit for a Bachelor party. ;) friendsriver001 by mordatre, on Flickr friendsriver002 by mordatre, on Flickr friendsriver003 by mordatre, on Flickr friendsriver005 by mordatre, on Flickr

UPDATE: When initially building this I had limitations in size due to the glass cabinet it was displayed in. But, for a Swedish event in July this year I have rebuilt it. Increased size, redesigned Bookshelfs and a Lifelites eLite Advanced kit. Unfortunately all tiles havn´t arrived yet so that´s why there are still some gaps in the floor. I could have waited until the tiles arrived but this build needs to be stashed in boxes so I can finish the other builds for the event. You´ll just have to look at it as a WIP. If I get time I´ll update with less sloppy photos of the finished build. Impressive. I really like the speederbikes. And Henry Jones Sr. ;)

Thanks! Unfortunately it´s now slightly disassembled and stashed in a cardboardbox ready for transport. Proper photos will have to wait.

Updated first post with some pictures of the redesign. :)

I like it. Looks alot like the old Sandcrawler but in midi-scale. Great use of space inside, unlike most official Legosets. I plan on getting a couple of Jawas from this years advent calendar.

Thanks all for the comments. @GuyDudeMan27. Snot is always great, but I was afraid it would be too bulky to use snot on this platform. @MikeMo. This build is mostly static. I really like when people add play features inte their builds but this time I had to focus on making everything stay together. The build is modular though, with the base divided into 4 sections and the building divided into 3 sections. There are 3 PF-lights (6 bulbs) in there but it´s hard to capture their weak light on camera. A medium PF-motor is connected to the radar on top but the failed gear-ratio made it impossible to use (radar spinning with 5000rpm :) )
