    Review: DKPirates-1 Brickmaster Pirates

The same set of bricks can be used to build 6 different designs, and the book contains instructions for all the 6 designs. I have just shown one, so, I use the bricks to come up with this (a design called Treasure Island) and still have these left overs

    ok, post edited
  4. To help clarifying on some details, I actually purchased these in 7-11 stores here in Hong Kong and not from Amazon, I mentioned Amazon in my blog because I found that they are pre-selling them and yet to be released on Aug 31, so it is strange that we can buy them here at convenient stores. Please find the review of the set at my blog: http://brickand.me/2009/07/26/BrickMasterP...sSetReview.aspx These items are from DK Publishing, and Amazon is pre-selling them at: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Brickmaster-Pir.../ref=pd_sim_b_1
  5. This is strange that BrickMaster Pirates and Castle Sets are now available in some 7-11 stores here in Hong Kong, as Amazon says that they will be released by end of next month. http://brickand.me/2009/07/24/LegoBrickMas...InHongKong.aspx
  6. Thanks for the help and sorry for the confusion.
  7. Truly unexpected, two sets of BrickMaster items (are they sets or books?) appear on shelfs of local (I am from Hong Kong) 7-11 stores, they are NOT widely available but seems to be appearing and disappearing in some 7-11 stores in some MTR Stations. These items look special, at HKD 99 each, it is around USD 12.70, a little less than the pricing in Amazon (and Amazon says "released on Aug 31st"?) and no need to pay for shipping! Please see my blog entries for details and review: http://brickand.me/2009/07/24/BrickMasterP...InHongKong.aspx http://brickand.me/2009/07/26/BrickMasterP...sSetReview.aspx

[MOC] A falling comrade - A Hoth story

It is funny though that some folks left notes in my Flickr photo saying that the wounded guy looks constipated... http://www.flickr.com/photos/parchioso/3748233606/

    [Review] 7753 Pirate Tank

Set Name: Lego 7753 Pirate Tank Theme: Star Wars Released: 2009 Pieces: 372 Price: ? Minifigs: 3 Lego keep coming up with new minifigs and along with them new vehicles, 7753 Pirate Tank gives us 2 new lego minifigs: Hondo Ohnaka and Turk Falso (sorry, I actually get to know them only by now), Obi-Wan Kenobi is not new, but nice to have if you haven't got him already. At around USD 50 in Hong Kong, I would still consider this a good buy, with 372 pieces including 3 minifigs (2 new and rare ones), again, the value would be determined by the quality of the vehicle. And for this one, I would give it a thumbs up. The vehicle is not looking great actually, and honestly I haven't seen it in the Star War movie or TV series before, just did some research on the web and gradually knowing more about these pirate guys and their tank, but I found the design quite interesting, specifically the rising seat, but together with the minifigs the whole thing suddenly makes sense, a guy holding two guns appearing from the vehicle and starting combat action! Besides, the two minifigs are good, at first impression, Hondo may appear to be a bad guy, but after some reading I think the character is a complex one, better watch the episodes before jumping into conclusion, and I have also taken a nice picture of this guy, you can check it out along with details pictures of the rising seat mechanisms at my blog: http://brickand.me/2009/07/06/Lego7753Pira...kSetReview.aspx Overall I would strongly recommend getting this set, after all, it is not expensive, why miss it?

[MOC] A falling comrade - A Hoth story

Thanks to all for the kind words, I look forward to explore on other ways of creating a good blood trail effect, I believe that there must be a better way used by someone somewhere Thanks, and yes, I did the "Hoth Rambo", may be I am too Hoth-riented... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31345

    [Review] 7753 Pirate Tank

If the pricing at US and Europe is reasonable, perhaps it would be more attractive
  14. I don't know if you own an X-Wing already, if not, perhaps you can consider 6212, for many I believe, X-wing is an icon of Star Wars. For the newer sets, 7676 also has potential to become a legend.

What is the cheapest set with asoka?

My personal opinion is to get 7751 (Ahsoka's Starfighter and Droids), so aside from Ahsoka, you also get a nice Starfighter, R7-A7, 2 buzz droids and a droid figher. Check out reviews at: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7751-1

    [MOC] Hoth Rambo

To fight against fate, a hoth rebel has to revert to extraordinary actions to survive ..... The Hoth Rebel is a tragic character and is one of my favorite character in Star Wars, I guess they could have done more instead of being sitting ducks like what happened on Hoth.
  17. I am relatively new to Lego and wonder if there is a category of discussions on how to produce different postures for the minifigs, I find the original Lego legs and arms very limited for visualizing certain postures, and I had to resort to the use of other parts in trying to achieve this:
