    Hollow studs

Today I was looking at the new board games that lego is releasing soon and I noticed that in two of the sets there are white 1x1 round plates with holes through them. Doesn't megabloks have studs like that? Are these examples of the new replacement for the original 1x1 or is a new separate piece. Is this a good thing or a bad thing. Right now I'm just really worried that this is a replacement piece, lego has done it before and I don't like it. It could be useful but shouldn't replace the 1x1 round. If anyone knows the answers to my questions it would be appreciated, please discuss. Reaper052 :skull:

    Atlantis 2010

I have an elementary school cousin who is in Lego's "target age" and he shares most of the views of afols on these action-themes. He points out the flick-fire missiles in the pirate sets and complains about the color scheme of power miners. And I didn't point them out to him ahead of time. I really think lego needs to understand their audience better. The only reason things like power miners sell better than themes like town or castle is because that is what is advertised on tv, and as a result what parents see. I don't see why lego is making another power miner theme when we have no word on whether castle or pirates is continueing next year. Personally I am afraid to see the evergreen themes fall back into obscurity. Reaper052

I have nothing against magablocks, I just don't think they belong on a Lego site. Reaper052 :skull:

    Disney's Cars Theme pic

There are forums and sites out there for megablocks but both Eurobricks and Brickshelf are about LEGO! We are here to discuss lego and related lego themes, m3g@b10ck$ should be discussed on sites where they're meant to be discussed. People come here for the real deal so we would apprieciate it if you keep them out of our lego community. The reason they call it Brickshelf and not Legoshelf is because Lego is a trademarked product and they want us to respect that. Plus a million sites with the word Lego in the title give the impression of official offiliation with the company and confuse people. Reaper052 :skull:

    Atlantis 2010

Why couldn't Atlantis be a new castle sub-theme? It would have been better than a rehash of power miners/ aqua-raiders. The castle theme is dieing and putting it underwater would have been a great way to reinvigorate it with new ideas. But this is just terrible, underwater set should never have wheels! I hope to see some castle like structures with the "atlanteans" but if they live in sumberines and spaceships of any kind then I have no intention of buying any of this garbage. At least I can save money for the Toy story and Pirates sets I was planning to buy, but that is the only bright side I can find. Reaper052 :skull:

So can an ambassador confirm whether this is real or not? And when do you think these will start hitting stores? Reaper052 :skull:

    Hollow studs

The choking thing isn't an issue with me, I don't plan on eating my lego anytime soon. But it shouldn't need to be completely child-proof against 1-4 year olds since lego warns against small kids and choking hazards anyway. Reaper052 :skull:

    Licensed sets or "own" sets?

Personally I think both provide great opportunities for great sets. Right now I believe Lego has a pretty good balance of license themes and own themes. They have the 4 evergreen themes to provide the strong foundation for the Lego lines, as well as the inclusion of 2-year themes like power miners and agents that will both end soon and be replaced with new small themes. I'm hoping to see a new western line or, if they pull it off, new aqua zone sets. However license theme add to the Lego company's range and allow us to see our favorite things brought into the wonderful world of plastic bricks. I really look forward to the new toy story sets as the movies were a HUGE part of my childhood. But some licenses have served their worth and need to move on, SW and Indy. I really would love to see new Johny Thunder after Indy ends, it allows for more flexibility in the sets and has more Lego charm in it. Star wars, Indy, Disney, and the upcoming Ben 10 seems like a good variety of licenses and I hope Disney branches out. I think Lego should stick with a 7-8 theme rule (bionicle and duplo excluded), the four evergreen themes, four licenses maximum, and 1-2 temporary themes that will change periodically and often. This will put more focus on central Lego themes and outside sources allowing a full complement of different settings and figures that can be whimsical and simplistic, like Lego should be. Lego Legends

This has been discussed before and I think the general opinion is that the line is dead and will not be coming back anytime soon. I would suggest using the search function if you want to find the old topics and see what was said. Reaper052 :skull:

I would love to see how this turns out but sadly will probably be unable to participate. This will however serve as inspiration and I can't wait to see Skinny Boy's school. Reaper052 :skull:

    MOC: Castle Modulex.

It might be next to impossible to put detail into modulex mocs, but I always love to see people using them. I think it would be a nice change of pace compared to normal system Lego. Reaper052 :skull:

What Ever Happened to Lego's Train Mystery?

I suggest you try using the wayback machine. Just type "internet archive" into google and it should give you a link to the website. Then type in lego.com and ckick on the year this site was up the find it. I hope this helps you find what your looking for. Reaper052 :skull:

    ADHO15's Harry Potter Collection

That is an impressive collection of harry potter set. I regret not getting more potter sets back when the theme still lived. But that was back in my 'bionicle stage' ,oh well. Reaper052 :skull:

    Evergreen Themes: Now and Then

I'm looking forward to this "non evergreen review." I wonder what it could be, but its okay if it takes you awhile to finish, we all know how real life gets in the way of our Lego building. Reaper052 :skull:

    Evergreen Themes: Now and Then

This morning I was looking at all the old castle sets and wondering why there wasn't a theme review for them yet. And then I looked at todays active topics, and there it was! This is a great article and it really helped me to get a complete picture of the castle theme as a whole, I hope you will continue to make these articles. Reaper052 :skull:

    MOC: Castle of Sønderborg

This blew my mind and made my day at the same time. The scale of this is icredible not to mention the amount of 1 by 2 plates. I love the round towers. Reaper052 :skull:

    Hollow studs

Armendariz, that is the a 1x1 brick, not a 1x1 plate. Sorry to confuse you. And thanks Oky and Ilikepi, you are probably right that they aren't a replacement but Lego has made mistakes like that before, like the new 1x1 cone for example. Reaper052 :skull:

    2009 version of my town

Not that this isn't good or anything but I think I liked your old layout better.
  21. I would first of all love a big imperial ship in dark blue, light blue, and yellow. This seems like a good colour scheme to me and it will make it stand out well against the brown and red of the Brickbeards bounty. It would be the 99 USD set and the "flagship" of the new line A set like the imperial trading post (below), would be nice with a sort of harbour with civilians. It would probably have a pirate rowboat and a small merchant boat the size of the one below. This should be full of play value and allow numerous scenerios for kids to play with while at the same time giving the afols a set like those of the old line. It would be the 70 USD set. I think they should also make a smaller pirate ship like the rennegade runner (below). This would allow for people who missed last years ship to have a boat for their pirates and would increase the play value of the imperial ship because you could line them up and have them fight. It would serve as the 50 USD set. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Iscreamc...ew/6268/033.jpg This is pretty much what I expect from next years line, plus a bunch of smaller sets that I don't care about. I think it would be cool if they release some sets with redcoats and some with bluecoats too, but don't see that happening Reaper052 :pir-skull:

I really like this building, I would never have thought of using the belville windows that way. I'll have to remember that for when I eventually build my table town to be modular. Can you post pictures of this together with your other modular buildings?

What book are you reading right now?

I just finished Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, which I highly recommend reading. But now I am reading "The Childrens Homer" by Padraic Colum which is probably the second worst book I've ever read (after Sounder), I hate summer reading lists.
  25. Several years ago I discovered the Afol community through Bzpower.com, back when I only collected bionicle. But when I moved on to system Lego I found Eurobricks. For many years I lurked and watched Eurobricks become what it is now. I always liked the way Eurobricks brought fans of differant themes together in one place so that Spacers can build Castle, and Train fans can post spaceships, without having to join dozens of differant forums. Plus alot of members of other communities have begun to join Eurobricks. Its just conveniant and thats why I finally decided to join.
