    Fort Victoria

Sweet marmalade, it appears that the Imperial Armada has allied itself with the Imperial Soldiers! Or have these soldiers betrayed their country for a tidy sum? The mystery unfolds, and only one person can clear the confusion

    My MOC Ship

When can we expect another ship or pirate related MOC from you, 007? Will you remain stubborn in your sailless ways?

    Birthday trio!

It's not to late to give my congratulations is it? X-D Happy Birthday, mates! Add another disappointed soul to that list...

    New 2007 Castle Theme!!

Hmm, this gives me hope that we might see the return of the vikings, too. (I'd like to see some hornless helmets, TLC...)

    Beers on Wheels!

Ah, the invention of beers on wheels is on par with sliced bread some would say. Surely the peasants did rejoice when they saw this savior of sober souls come strolling down into town. I'd just hate to be in his position when he runs dry before everyone's managed to wet their throats... The MOC is both simple and lovely. *y* What more can a LEGO enthusiast ask for?

Wonderful coach, ghoulrealm! The dark-red/white color scheme is most excellent. The use of the vladek bardings in this manner is quite original (if only the scorpion wasn

    Cemetery of St. Anthony's Cathedral

This is a very nice MOC, Darkie. My favorite bits are the tree, the angel of death statue, and the rotting corpse sitting in his grave. I agree with "4J" on this. The perfectly aligned headstones look out of place next to the tree and the disturbed grave nearby. Any sort of variations would improve the look of the MOC. You might even want to consider adding different types of headstones along with what "4J" suggested.

    My Castle

I bid you my belated welcome to the history forum, mike f. From what I can see it looks like the majority of your structure comprises the "King's Castle" and the "Battle At The Pass" along with some harry potter elements and that old KK1 window piece. I also spotted a black falcon shield. Is that from a recent harry potter set or from something older? These newer sets lead me to believe that you're new to the castle theme (or am I off base?) and if you are, do you plan to expand this structure, or are you just experimenting? Also, are you interested in the new castle theme? What are your thoughts? How does it compare to the previous efforts put forth by TLC? Thoughts on the MOC: The main model is interesting, but it feels a bit too flimsy. I don't know how many pieces you have, but perhaps you could build something smaller, like a peasant's home if you're straining for pieces at this point? I like the details such as the fountain and the blacksmith (it's also the perfect use for that sword!). My favorite part of your MOC is the forest. The design of the tree in the background is a very creative use of pieces. Perhaps you could take more pictures of this part of your MOC?

    Favorite Castle Helmet?

I don't believe we've had this poll yet, so the top pick should surely be intriguing... The variety of Castle helmets remained rather limited up until the 90's when an outburst of new molds sprang up and continued into the 2000's. Some molds have brought tears of joy while others have only brought tears. Which type of metallic helmet do you history buffs prefer? To clarify what name goes with what helmet: Flared Helmet "Non"-Flared Helmet Grilled Helmet Dragon Master's Helmet Samurai Helmet "Scorpion" Helmet Viking Helmet Crown "Bat" Helmet Kettle Helmet EDIT: Erp, the poll didn't show up! Strange... I don't suppose one of the MODs could fix it, eh?

    HMS Hotspur

Nice BSB mod, Bonaparte. It might be helpful to provide a before picture of the ship for those who aren't especially accustomed to the look of the BSB, but from what I see I like. :) When I was younger I dreamed of owning the re-release of the BSB, but alas it was never meant to be... This set will forever haunt my soul until I own it. I was just about to ask if the name of the ship was inspired by Hornblower - but I'm too late! :'-( Perhaps you chaps could enlighten the culturally unsophisticated who don't know what "hornblower" is all about? ;-) Is it a movie or show of some sort? Is it any good? :-P

    Brickshelf Find: Pirate Diorama

I advocate the use of the word "BigVig" when dealing with slightly larger vigs. This is a nice piece of work. It's small, concise, and to the point. ;-) I rather like the SNOT build even if it doesn't look historically accurate. But if the builder could manage to incorporate a historically accurate look into his MOC then he'd receive some realism points from me. I like the look of the crew's faces. They all look like scallywags who wouldn't think twice when stabbing you in the back. That's how real pirates should be! ;-) The use of that ladder is rather ingenious, too. My only gripe (and a minor one at that) is that the gun ports open sideways, as ZCerberus already mentioned.

Who are all the Pirate Lego fans on this board?

Arrr, what about SINKIN' ships?! They be me favorite type o' ship... I feel a MOC coming on and there's only 7-8 hours till adequate sunlight.

    Castle MOC

Mr. Hachi has some very nice MOCs. I can't say this is my favorite after I saw the two other MOCs posted by Bruce, but it still has a very nice charm about it. I agree that his pastel backgrounds lend a classic-feel-good feeling to Mr. Hachi's creations. By the way, Bruce, I noticed a few similarities between the "South Inlet Fortress" and Jacobs last major MOC. Did he mention if that MOC was a source of inspiration for his desert fortress?

    New 2007 Castle Theme!!

I think a lot of people make a big deal because they're using foresight. There may be a flood of parts that are now discontinued, but a river not replenished will dry up in time. (or something like that ;-)) I noticed that some of the accompanying images have discrepancies; I'll assume that they're the preliminary images.

    The User Picture Thread

You know, I clicked on the link and thought about looking while it loaded, but decided that I'd prefer to think of Mr. Phes as little mini-fig (who should get his own talk show). Jeez, I'm not even sure why I entered this thread. I've already established who everyone looks like based off of their avatar (and I'd prefer to keep it that way). *vows to not enter thread again* *crosses fingers* ;-)

    February 21 Lego News Release

Is it because of the AFOL? How many of the SW AFOL fans buy other LEGO products? (I'll get to that later.) 2006 was a good year to be sure, but I'd be careful in making these kind of statements, especially if some of the new AFOL oriented sets fall through. (I'll be happy to eat my words, though! X-D) Too much of a good thing can be bad (especially this clich

Shop at home sets from 2007

This is a glorious set that will hopefully see many successors. *y* City fans must feel spoiled? Or have the wrongs of the past now been righted? :-P
  20. This sounds intriguing, and there is a lot of room for creativity and open ended-ness. The two biggest problems, like optimus mentioned, are the kiddies and the censorship. I just hope that the censorship doesn't go too far (as in eliminating competition or the potential for WAR!). The subscription could be another negative factor if not dealt with well.

    Congratulations Bonaparte!

And so another pirate member has successfully infiltrated the "administrative board" of eurobricks... It will only be a matter of time before the Brickster's forewarning will come true. >8-) Congratulations and good luck, Bonaparte!

    Making a movie

This is a very resourceful list! Thank you for taking the time to assemble it. :) I'm also a proponent of mini-fig legs, because they're plentiful, and the holes on the back of the legs also resemble suctions to an extent.

Whose Pirate avatar do you like best?

Mr. Phes, do you still have your original avatar? I remember liking that one more than your current one, but it's also possible that time has warped my mind.

The French frigate L'Orient: Work in progress

Ah, the L'Orient is looking most superb! I will say that the "rail-guns" are an interesting concept. I also agree with phred about the decks. As it is, there's not a whole lot that I can think to further comment on, but you have my gratitude. *y* On a final note, mr. bonaparte, have you thought about what color your next ship will be? I'm looking for someone to change it up a bit (not that I don't mind that color scheme). (When I accumulate enough pieces, I'm hoping to go with a tan/brown/white color scheme of some sort.)
