    Greeting from Indonesia

Hurray, another lurker has finally decided to join the dark side! ;-) It was only a matter time anyway. I actually saw your armies just the other day. I'm incredibly envious of your kettle helm knights. I absolutely love those guys...

    IRON MOOSE

Hello, and welcome! Nice third-person introduction. 'Twas informative and to the point. Ha, yes! When can we expect a IRON MOOSE MOC from you? (Even though it sounds like you don't MOC much...)

    Hi ho

Good day to ya, mate! Eurobricks is a great online community, so I hope you enjoy your stay. Yep, that would have been me, no thanks to Asuka. ;-)

Blue Coats, Red Coats, or Green Coats

I've never cared for the blue coats myself. The color is too passive in my eyes. If armies don't want to utilize camouflage then they better look darn scary, darn it! This is why the red coats will always have my heart.

    Castle 2007 Armies

Excellent army. Like many other EB members I also plan to amass tons men to build my armies up. The 3vil skeleton faces look best in a scorpion helmet, IMO. I still think the skelly arms look too long and scrawny, so TLC better design a proper arm in the next few years. (one that resembles the classic arm design with the addition of "arm clip".)

    Grave Stone: Official Web Page

I'm a somewhat late here, but I just wanted to say add my compliments to your site, Brickster. It was enjoyable to read all of the MOCs great descriptions. My favorite MOC of the Grave Stone collection is the first version of the Shady Inn Hotel. Its design and color scheme is spot on. I also like Fort Jacinto and the Professor's Wagon a lot. *y*

    Castle and Space pages up

Heh, yes I thought a few of the entries looked a bit funky, but I'm not a grammar expert. :-P Perhaps you should offer Lego.com your assistance.

10190 A new LEGO Factory Exclusive!

I'm looking forward to this set very much, especially for the light blue. I just hope there aren't as many color discrepancies in this set, which has kept me from wanting to get the Cafe Corner. It'd also be neat if "hard to find" colors were included in each one of these type of buildings. (Sand red, purple, orange?) I'm glad TLC is supporting modularity. 'Tis another step in the right direction.

    Castle and Space pages up

I like the Castle page very much! It's way more than I expected. The scythe's entry amused me the most: "Scythe Originally an agricultural tool for reaping grass, but the evil skeletons enjoy using it for reaping humans. The war scythe is used either 2 handed on a staff or single handed as an inversed scimitar." It's funny how the reader must be reminded that the wizard and his minions are EVIL every time they're mentioned in an entry. :-P I don't suppose bricklink would change the weapon names they have now that TLC has officially labeled each one. (Which reminds me, I'm disappointed that they didn't include an entry for the classic longbow. :-/) Like this, this, and that for example.

What a fortunate turn of events it is when new sets are released as the workload decreases and we have more free time to indulge in our favorite hobby! *sweet* (AKA, it's great to be back. ;-)) I just finished browsing classic-castle.com today and I saw that lego.com has already released the new castle sets, so here they are: 7009 7090 7091 7092 7093 7094 Hopefully some of the local stores will be stocked with them soon.

    Are Classic Hull Pieces Juniorized?

One of the major draws of the original pirates theme was the fabulous ships that sailed the Seven LEGO Seas! TLC created two new types of hulls to accommodate medium and large ships. The hull pieces consisted of a

    Fazoom visits a castle??

Thanks for taking more pictures of this set, admiral. Does the Castle theme impress you enough to warrant more purchases? Also, from the way those lightning bolts are designed, it really does look like TLC intended to use them in the context of a certain Star Wars scene... I guess we'll just have to wait and see (unless someone has a pic to share?).

    Reality vs. Playability

Like I said, these things would look too out of place in a pirate theme, no matter how outlandish they already appear in a space theme. I don't think we have too much to worry about. I will hold over that shoe just in case, though... EDIT: TLC should really take the AFOLs opinions into consideration in the next space theme. If a non-violent theme like city can prosper because of its superb designs then why can't a space theme accomplish the same task? There's an untapped market for peaceful space exploration out there... and just in case, TLC could always create multiple factions so the kids' imaginations could go to work.

    Castle Reviews !!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy reviewing schedule to review these sets, yoda. ;-) I have but one question which I think was asked earlier in this thread, but has remained neglected: Do the two knights in the Jousting set have blank torsos or not?

Exclusive EB Review: 7093 - Skeleton Tower

Thank you for this nice review, StarWars4J. I don't think I'll purchase this set unless it's on sale. As it is, the only elements worth getting in this set can be bricklinked, and I'm just not digging that dragon. The design of the main model is rather well though out, though. I give my props to the builder. *y* P.S. Even though you seem to despise these dragons, which do you prefer, StarWars46? (Between this and the Castle Siege)

MINI-FIGURE REVIEW: Pirate with Blue Striped Torso #3

I'm not the biggest fan of the guy's face, but who's to blame him? :-P This fig makes a decent crew mate. He's an expendable nobody. Sort of like those red shirted star trek extras who always got the short end in every episode. Nobody cares if he's taken out in the line of pirate duty. All of this is one more reason for the captain to watch his back in case he decides to start a mutiny. :-D

    Are Classic Hull Pieces Juniorized?

This is an interesting idea, but the ship's decreased base might be too narrow and create stability issues. There's also the fact that large ships are meant to sink into the water quite a bit. Still, thank you for the interesting input. *y* Just to get the discussion rolling again, here's a question for you guys: Would you be in favor of some type of conceivable brick built hull? A type that could be built up as well as widened? Or are you quite content with the prefab hulls, and would rather TLC look into designing a larger version to accommodate larger ship MOCs?

    Reality vs. Playability

I'd say that the ridiculous surplus of spring loaded contraptions and catapults is an imbalance in the scales of playability vs design rather than accuracy. There are some points of accuracy that I wish had been dealt properly, such as the viking helmets. (I deeply wish that they had created a helmet mold without the holes.) On the large though, my concerns lie in the midst of Playability Vs Design. Too often good design is sacrificed to include two more lousy catapults or whatever lame attempt at playability they decide upon. Playability doesn't have to be cheesy. Heck, it can be a lot of fun if it's executed properly. TLC seems to be stuck in the mindset that playability equals obvious, ill-conceived design. Take set 5988 for example. It blended playability and design together seamlessly. In today's sets, "playable functions" seem to be added onto sets as an afterthought instead of being a part of the design. But maybe this fact is because most playable features involve a catapult or cannon of some sort. |-/ TLC really should look into more creative means of achieving playability. I agree with your assessment, Phes. The majority of sets are being dealt better designs each year. By the time TLC arrives to resurrecting the pirate theme I wouldn't doubt that it will be much better conceived than the sets of Knights' Kingdom. This isn't to suggest that they will approach the excellent designs of yore, but anything's better than +4 Pirate garbage. (I can't urge this enough. ;-)) Honestly, sne, I think that your fears are unfounded in regards to the pirate theme. TLC already created molds for spring loaded cannons, so I seriously doubt that they would ever dare put catapults (or those dreadful spring loaded technic contraptions) onto System ships. The designers would have to be smoking crack if they went that far. If they ever add either of those things to a future system pirate ship I'll eat my shoe, just for you. :-P

    The frigate L'Orient

Excellent ship, Bonaparte! I like the lean look of the ship's body. This thing looks like a cheetah in the savanna just waiting to take out some helpless animal. (and we all know pirates are animals ;-)) I dare to say that the masts seem too tall for the leanness of this ship, but if they're historically accurate than I can't really complain. Great work and keep it coming.

    Pirate Ship

Hey, cyryl, this is a great little mini-sloop that would make a nice stuffing stocker. You've done a good job of using some odd pieces to achieve the look of your ship. Again, it's nice to see another small ship (or boat). Welcome aboard and come again, soon.

    Armed Sidewheeler 'Guerre de Roue'

Ah, what an extraordinarily creative ship. Red seems to be popular these days, which I don't mind. It's nice to see you channel your building skills toward smaller ships, just to change things up a bit and whatnot. My favorite parts of the ship are the bow railing, the "engine", the sidewheels (I guess?), and the rear railing. --So pretty much the entire thing. :) Keep on building. *y*

    The Phantom

Mr. ZCerberus, your mad MOCcing skills are impressive as usual. You've even managed to create a very interesting bow technique. I like the rounded slopes used around the cabin. It has a distinct look to it that I haven't seen on other cabins. The viking shields are also a nice touch. I don't have much more to say. Keep on building! *y* EDIT: Wait, I think the massive size of this ship has deceived my eyes. Are inverted slopes being used on bow?

    Hello all

Bah, it's never too late to introduce yourself! *Gives Piranha a hearty handshake* I think a large portion of "LEGO hobbyists" could be classified as obsessed. ;-) I see you're a member of quite a few sites. Have you visited classic-space.com? 'Tis another nifty site for the discussion of spacey MOCs. Oh, and how's Hawaii? I've never been there myself, but people say the weathers great.
