Berry Syedow

I found both of the 2006 viking sets on our trusty amazon.de. Their pictures include some nifty alternative models along with the actual sets. Viking Artillery Wagon Viking Double Catapault vs. the Armoured Ofnir Dragon The third picture of the artillery wagon perked my attention. It showcases a total of nine mini-figs. *wub* Although it's a long shot I'd be ecstatic if the artillery set was revised to include that many. X-D

Ahoy thar laddies! What's this, a piratey adventure without the one and only Berry Syedow?! Say it ain't so! Name: Berry Syedow, of course. ;-) Age: 34 (fake) Weapons o' choice: Pistol an' me trusty rapier (ye mind?) Me horse's name: Nemoudon (currently with me brother, a merchantman) Imperial type: Soldier Rank: Deck officer VM, a character's backstory would spicen up the adventure! I started a career as a merchantman that sailed goods from the growing city of Goldridge o'er to the prosperous citizens of Greenshire. Goods were relatively cheap at that time so I could always expect a hefty profit. In me youth I was a careless laddie who liked to stretch a silver piece a mile wide. Because o' this I had left me vessel devoid o' cannons an' such; after all I had sailed well over two years without bein' robbed. Soon enough I fell prey to a band of pirates, blast the scurvy dogs! They marooned me on a desolate rock in the northern waters. Fate would have it that I meet an ole coot that occupied a distant tower. 'E went by the name o' ahh, what was it?, ahh yes, Lannsing, Rupid Lannsing. The old man rambled on about a past of chivalry and knighthood. He tinkered with inventions an' the like. Eventually I sailed back to the mainland of Greenshire after he courteously revealed his waning ship, seven months after me landin'! I suppose he grew lonely at times, who could blame 'im? :-P Till this very day I have not seen the man that robbed me of my rightful fortune, but when that day arrives I shall be avenged! I've had me fair dose of adventure on land too, but that is another story. ;-) The seas beckon me once more!

Because he was a privateer wouldn't he fly his country's flag? I'm not savvy with my pirate history so feel free to correct me. :-P

Yesterday I bought 4884 Wild Hunters at 33% off. If I hadn't ever caught the thing on sale I probably would've given up and purchased it at full price. I am very pleased with the models provided, especially the lion. There's still quite few of the smaller models I have yet to construct. Still, a wonderful set! *y*

That's an interesting theory. I am curious as to how they plan to continue the knights kingdom if at all. Did they ever announce the winner of that one create a faction/knight contest? Do we know where they're headed with that?

With a month to go I seriously doubt that they will make any major modifications to this set. What you see is what you'll get, like it or not. :-/

Yes, and what's with the magnifying glass? Another thing I don't understand is why the newer skelly face is used in place of the old one when the other kk2 sets have the original. Upon closer inspection it looks as if the two foremost catapults are constructed out of chariot wheels, an interesting solution. If catapults continued using useful pieces such as this I might be more inclined to accept their presence. Not that I mind a well designed catapult, but we're talking TLC here. ;-)

Aha! It only makes sense that TLC would have a little something up their sleeves because a kk line without a $100 castle doesn't compute. Yoda's comment is precisely what I see in this set. There's still a load of <insert that tiresome argument> LEGO pieces but the construction is better than the last two castles on a hill. One thing though, is that a bull's shield being carried by the black knight on the fifth picture in the bottom right hand corner?

Look at all those brown pieces! *wub* Nice find! I actually like this set. The Ivy prison is a tad tacky, however. The same is true of Batman's glider. :-P The bricks are what get me though. I definitely thought they'd use some newfangled prefabricated wall piece. *y* Good going TLC! Now if only they'd incorporate that into KK2.... EDIT: Why isn't the guard wielding a modern rifle?

Eh, I'm not a big fan of the hoods. :-/ Flared helmets always look good, as do the shadow knight helmets. :-)

I recently found this old thread about a set release in July. It's possible that the battle at the pass will launch near the same time. Now to figure out what "LEGO - Knights Kingdom < 10176 Royal King Castles > July sale schedule" means... 8-

Agreed, which is a shame, really. They're making a killing off of that chess set, almost every time its in stock they're out again. Let's just cross our fingers that TLC will release another one without the baby blue. :-P Speaking of which, I just saw that they are available again.

Natelite, also bear in mind that discontinued parts and colors in older sets will never be available again. Collectors undoubtedly prefer the real set and box, and most parents will be oblivious to what you are suggesting. LEGO factory will have a negligible impact on the secondary market. I just saw this new trailer and thought I'd share it: http://www.eyecravedvd.com/staticpages/ind...p/potc2-trailer (takes a while to load) Looks to be a solid sequel if not a great one. I like the look of Davy Jones quite a bit; his crew and ship are also quite fitting. Mmm, and there's even a kraken! From the trailer it looks like they've found a good equilibrium between the humor and the action. Still no sighting of Jack's dad, or is that for the last of the trilogy? That's all the commenting for now, except, LEGO could've made some nice cash with this film... Enjoy! ;-)

Ha, that's great! I rather liked the shaky camera effect as it added to the sense of being aboard a moving ship. Those effects are also fantastic! My favorite voice is the red bearded fellow, but they were all nicely done.
