Or someone hacks the handle off with an even larger axe!

Ho ho ho, that guy doesn't stand a chance against the big foot:

Yes, but its a wonderful entry none the less. I love the background. *y*

New grey (or bluish grey as its called) ;-) It makes sense since TLC stopped producing "old" grey !! *yoda* TLC should seriously consider re-releasing the assorted gray bricks packet (in old gray of course ;-) )in a decade or so. Why that stuff would be so expensive by then that LEGO is guaranteed to make a fortune. They could continue releasing the packets every other year. Everyone would be happy. It's a win-win situation.

What about the possibility of a UCS set? The Black Pearl is an obvious canidate. I can't really comment on Pirates 2, but I'm sure there's some great stuff. I would hope that a better hull could be designed. One that could be widened as well as lengthened. It would be reasonable for TLC to use their current hull, though. After all they don't want to lose money on new molds. They would probably be just as likely to use the +4 hull for a liscensed theme as they would be for an original theme.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mysterious_island/ ;-) (not a theatrical release, unfortunately) The movie sounds entertaining, but I fear it would become a cgi-fest without very good direction or acting. *sad*

Thanks a bundle, mate!

Wellwitt is an undead being who must drink ale every day to retain his immortality. None of the memories from his previous life survive. Uncertainty clouds his mind. Has he been cursed, or blessed from above? Did his mortal heart thrive with intentions of good or evil. He hopes that his travels will lead him to his destiny, and ultimately reveal who he is.

Hehehe, yes indeedy. I once had a taste of crab meat on a camp out by the beach (That place was loaded with them) and it was pretty revolting. I saw the clam, but I wouldn't consider it a 'BBB'. That kraken is great, though! As for more ideas, a big octopus perhaps, a wild boar, an angry whale, a shark, a large snake, a mighty walrus, a giant rat? heh. I look forward to more of your delicious beasts.

Very creative fabuland display there. From afar it almost looked like a compilation of randomly colored bricks due to all of the key-chains. How long has it taken you collect all of them?
-
Excellent crab, and nice use of pieces. What are the pirates after? Are there any plans to build more 'brick built beasts' in the near future?

The wikipedia has a few interesting theories as to why berserkers acted the way they did: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berserker#The...serker_behavior The idea that vikings took drugs to work themselves into a rage sounds believable. Perhaps in combination with the chanting and whatnot. Either way those guys were messed up. ;-)

Another site that contains a few phrases not mentioned: http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/tradit...l/navyterm.html A funny word: Titivate: To clean up or make shipshape.

Unless Ralphie decides to eat it!

Hello all, The name Grauerwal is German, meaning "gray whale" according to babel fish. The name derives from my lack of brown or suitable black pieces for the ship thus forcing me to use gray. So I thought I might as well add a whale's head to the front and a tail for the back. X-D I built the ship in late February, but was dissatisfied with the result so after a month of collecting dust on the shelf I rebuilt the main body of the ship. The rigging and all of the fine touches remained unfinished until a day ago. The galley also includes a set of eight brick built cannons. There are some other details that I would have liked to add such as a crate of cannon balls, a ladder leading up the mast, and a rudder, but are not feasible because of lack of pieces or space on the ship. A few deeplinks: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/SirRupid...ey/s4020153.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/SirRupid...ey/pict4492.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/SirRupid...ey/pict4488.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=193720]Gallery when public://http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/g...ery when public://http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/g...ery when public://http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/g...ery when public Enjoy!

It's either painted wood or a type of mythical tree. In either case the hull's material is composed of another tougher material. Heh, yes the ship is a bit tall, and I don't have more than three extension pieces at the moment. You are correct about the cannons. They help add to the fantasy element, however. It has a basic interior at the moment, but I don't have enough vikings for the oars. If I can catch a longship on sale I'll probably extend the hull. Thank you for the comments, guys!

Muhahah! You'll never find it! :-D

I'm a bit bummed about the orient faces. The set is pretty blah. Juniorization, bley, and bionicle are a deadly combination I tell ya. ;-) I'll wait till Toys 'r' Us has a two for one deal to get these. Nice review, though, Dr. Lucky.

Oh, really? Yeash, stinks for TLC. I was thinking of writing up a thread for how TLC could improve classic castle if they ever decide to discontinue Kk II :-| after I saw some of the playmobil stuff on their site. I guess it goes to show that you don't need to dumb down your sets to keep a profit. -
Johnny has never been to Whoville, my friend. :-P
-
Johnny is not a happy camper. The axe he carries is his only companion. His scowl is enough to send a battle hardened warrior away in tears. Some say the blue-robed wizard, Majistor, is his creator. His axe once belonged to a Black Falcon he encountered during a Christmas blizzard. The poor guy was never found... They say he gobbles up his victims in one bite! And there they sit in his frozen belly for an eternity. Every Christmas Eve he haunts whomever he pleases. One year a Shadow Knight, the next a Dragon Master, and then... maybe even you! X-D After Christmas he disappears, but it is believed that he lives in the north pole. At least the vikings say so, from the alarming number of casualties they suffer every Christmas. Poor guys. Johnny the Snowman A passerby gets eaten Folder when public Enjoy! EDIT: I rephotographed Johnny with a better camera. I also took the liberty of photographing a battle between some shadow knights, here. A deeplink.

No kidding? That is the first LEGO set I built (I received two sets) when I turned six. After that I was hooked. The other one is 6555: Sea Hunter.

TLC is trying to stay in the black. They are not a money-hoarding company looking to up a huge profit by a few more bucks. Set prices are better this year than last year it would seem. Honestly, why would TLC be over taken by megabloks and playmobil? Megabloks is declining in set design quality faster than TLC was, and these last few years have given us some incredible sets. Playmobil is in a different league, beside the minor similarities to the mini-fig. As far as I'm concerned we don't have adequate evidence to support the declining quality of the LEGO brick. I have noticed things here and there, but nothing substantial enough to call TLC out on. None of this is relevant to your original post, which complains of the absence of the mini-fig packets. Further more you failed to recognize my examples. TLC is trying to appease the masses while still remaining profitable. Maybe in a decade or two mini-fig packs will be back in all their prestigious glory? We'll just have to wait and see.
