Defect lego parts in just a small poly 30282
Modulex Guy replied to solidbase's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Looks like it was damaged in the store, like run over by a shopping cart before put on the shelf. Either way, just go on LEGO.com to the lego part replacement section in customer service. -
From buckets to bins: How to sort a lot of Lego.
Modulex Guy replied to henrysunset's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nice way to sort! Its pretty close to how I have my build area set up, I use the Akro Mills sorting bins, but I have a lot of overflow and larger boxes to sort too, no way I could use the small bins for bricks, I have around 100 plastic shoe boxes for bricks and plates and other bricks I have in bulk. I have topped off boxes of one type of brick alone, example: 1x2 dark bley bricks. And I still have a huge backlog of unsorted bricks, mostly table scraps, set partouts, and bricklink orders. -
Welcome to Eurobricks fellow Chicagoan!

I don't have much of a Lego universe. all my Mocs are all boxed up and only get displayed at the NILTC shows, and all my figs are locked away in their own little compartments and bins.

do people actually buy huge collections?
Modulex Guy replied to Bobskink's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I've bought a few large mixed lots and collections before. My goodness, sometimes its a nightmare to sort. The biggest one I bought was a huge tote bin of mixed everything. It took forever to sort out the good bricks, some broken and useless parts, non-Lego brands, random junk, etc. Price was too good to pass up for the lot, but what an endeavor to sort. I wouldn't have a problem buying another large collection, just need to prepare myself to sort out a large lot like that. Maybe get a few friends together and have them help. -
Works really well as an 8 wide! The real cars are big ol' land yachts and you captured the scale perfectly!

I keep some boxes. The only ones I keep are the ones that are able to fold flat. The boxes that you poke your thumb on the side and rip it open, I toss those, the ones that are taped closed, I cut the tape, fold them flat and put them away. When they are flat they take up almost no space at all.

How do you wash your LEGO... Seriously?
Modulex Guy replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The oxy clean and peroxide mix is only used to de-yellow white bricks. I've never cleaned a batch of mixed colors this way. I don't want the peroxide damaging colored bricks! Oxy clean though by itself does get rid of smoke smell in bricks! -
Ahem... Ah, It seems that someone may have driven a truck into your lobby there. Take a peek through the front doors.

Bricklink sellers with too many of the same rare piece
Modulex Guy replied to Vee's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Also, some sellers probably know someone at Lego to get these parts, there are a few stores that have prototype and rare color parts that were never in any sets. they are still 100% Lego parts. And to the ones that have the insane amounts of rare parts, again, get them from either a LEGOLand, or Pick a Brick, or they buy a huge amount of sets. -
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E (Sticker Sheet)
Modulex Guy replied to gherkin's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They probably don't have containers of different colors because even though just changing a color, even with no sticker or logo, implies a different company. This ship is maersk only, any other colors would already imply different companies on the ship. Green containers for "China Shipping" or "Evergreen", dark blue for "Hanjin", red for "K-Line". Just changing the colors already puts different company names on this one company exclusive set. -

It's a photoshop. Looks like someone just made an attempt at making their own promo set.- 10 replies

Friends is not going anywhere for a long time! Probably one of the best selling themes at the moment. And not to rain on anyones parade, this thread seems a little bit BS since the topic is trying to bash one theme over another and wanting to cause an argument.

Where to purchase, and information about Modulex!
Modulex Guy replied to rollerbones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Someone say Modulex? Yea, I understand your frustration with finding US sellers of it, most of the Modulex I have gotten was mainly from Europe. -

Modulex Guy replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have one of these massive displays. It one of the mars mission ones and its all glued and a cumbersome thing to display. Its all glued and its one big chunk of plastic. -

My Rarest! LEGO Wooden fire truck 1951 by ChrisR18t, on Flickr -
Oh sure you can! The printing just makes it harder to build! I've done a few polybags like this.

That... Is... Awesome! Very well built. The curves look perfect and true to the original Lightning McQueen!

Thanks for the good comments! Since the pics I did some super tiny touch ups on the fig to make the lines sharper.
