    Lego Modulex

Modulex is very rare on eBay. Barely any of it made it to the USA, and it was pretty limited even in Europe. The ones you have are Lego on the studs are the earlier bricks from the mid-60s. Modulex was created by Lego to try to tailor to the adult market and to use the system as a way to design factory or office floor plans. There is a limited range of parts availabe, but there is a good handful of really cool specialty parts. Baseplates are extremely expensive and rare. Modulex made signage systems and letter tiles for various applications. Modulex never made any sets, just supplementary boxes of bricks and parts. The most rare part is the "minifig", it is a factory glued set of bricks to resemble a minifigure. Do you have any specific questions about it?

    Brickworld 2017!

Hello All! This forum is unusually quiet. I bet all of you are busy building for Brickworld! Might as well get this topic going. Who's going? I'll be there this year. Anyone else hitting panic mode with their builds? Brickworld 2017 is coming fast!

    What is this brick?

3065 on bricklink is a 1x2 brick w/o bottom tube. Sounds like you have a few pre-70's bricks. Old Logo and such. Do they have little molding marks on the side? Could be old Samsonite 1x2s as well.

Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities

I was going to post these two in the other rare part thread, but I think these fit better in this topic since they are more of an oddity to have rather than parts. I just acquired two retailer catalogs. Me thinks I probably shouldn't have these in my possession. 2010 LEGO Retailer Catalog by Chris Rozek, on Flickr 2012 LEGO Retailer Catalog by Chris Rozek, on Flickr More photos of pages in my Flickr stream.
  17. I consider my collection on the smaller side compared to some of the members in my LUG. I have close to 400k parts and countless sets. Takes up half my basement. So its hard to tell what a small collection is. Depends on what you're comparing it to.

    Lego posters without folds?

There are ways to smooth out the creases. You can use an iron, but you have to be very very gentle with it on very low heat. You would put the poster on a rigid piece of cardboard, put a bedsheet on top, and iron on top of that. Essentially you're using the weight of the iron and super low heat to get rid of the crease. My method is that I will let the iron warm up a bit, turn it off, and use the residual heat to iron with. It's not a perfect method, but it will help a lot to get out the worst creases.

What do you do with your LEGO Boxes

I do a bit of everything. The large boxes that can be stored flat, I have a empty shelf in my guest room closet where I put them all. Punch tab boxes and common small sets get recycled. And rarer boxes like ideas sets go in the guest room closet as well.

  23. Hi All! Here is my latest custom Friends Minidoll figure. Its Ruby Rose from the Anime series RWBY! RWBY Ruby by Chris Rozek, on Flickr RWBY Ruby by Chris Rozek, on Flickr There are still touch ups I want to do, clean up some of the detail around the fine parts of the torso and boots. (need a smaller brush) Everything is hand painted, no decals. I might redo the hair, its a bit too shiny for my liking. I used an automotive clear mixed with red to get a slight red candy color. Comments welcome!
