Even more puzzling is the fact that after the above post the person who was selling the mentioned torsos has removed them from Bricklink.
-
I can understand some sellers buying loads of sets and splitting them to sell the minifigs separately etc. But I got a bit puzzled when I saw someone selling 170+ Anakin Battle damaged (set 8096) "torsos only" on Bricklink?
-
Ouch, in that case the price that the originals are fetching on ebay is not too bad then.
-
No Padme would be a bit disappointing but as far as Obi Wan and Anakin goes we have loads of them and don't need any more. And ahsoka never changes her outfits so there would be no point in getting her either.

Comic Con Star Wars CubeDudes Review
legolandia replied to Mariann Asanuma's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wonder if anyone who owns this set would be kind enough to post the building instructions for those of us who can't afford the high prices on ebay? Hint hint -
Cute, but not $75 cute (not to mention the price they will sell for on ebay afters). I very much hope that the instructions will be posted somewhere. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for the review and pictures. The set is average in terms of its complexity in my opinion. No complex building/structures/ships. Something thrown together and slightly better than a battle pack. As far as pricing goes it is daylight robbery. I had a look on Amazon.fr and 46.90 Euros is very expensive (especially if you compare it to the Plo Koon's fighter that sells for 26.30). If the UK prices are that high then I will simply get the minifigures on Bricklink instead.

Review - 8096 Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle
legolandia replied to OneSnowTrooper's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's an average set but if it wasn't for the minifigs I wouldn't buy it. How come these are out in France? I thought this wasn't due until August with the rest of the sets. Or is that simply the case for UK only? -
Which Jedi, Sith or other do you want the most?
legolandia replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would prefer to see a few more Sith being released since we have quite a lot of Jedi. However I dont think Lego would release any characters that havent appeared in the Star Wars films/animations. -
Is Assajj's death documented in any of the Star Wars books? I've always wondered how she died but have not managed to read all the books yet.

I do hope it is a second poster showing the rest of the minifigures that the first one didn't show. There's a good 100 odd of them to show.

I was looking at some of the pictures of the Toy Fair 2010 and noticed that Lego was using some very nice 'invisible' stands for the ships/vehicles it was displaying. Made of clear perspex. Are those stands for sale? If not does anyone know where to get something nice. I am mainly thinking of something nice and low profile to display my Imperial Star Destroyer 6211 and Republic Attack Cruiser. I think they would look nice lifted a few inches in the air, maybe slightly tilted by a nice stand that is not very visible. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/advice please?

Not too long a time ago, in a galaxy the same as yours.... I decided to build the Malevolence based on the instructions provided by Lego. The brick inventory is not included with the instructions so I decided to compile it myself. Not having the computer software (if there is one) I decided to write it down manually. Since I have been asked by members here a few times to post the inventory I decided to create this thread. The link for the instructions is somewhere in this forum but if Kim T could kindly provide a link to them in this page I would be grateful (not sure how to do it myself). A few things I thought would be useful to note down: I have photographed each page of the inventory and provided the picture here. Each page shows (from right to left apart from some places) the picture of the brick, the legth x the width of the brick, the color of the brick and x how many of the particular brick. Please note that for some bricks you will need multiple colors of that brick and that has been shown in the drawings. Where you see some wavy lines on some bricks (like the one at the bottom of the second from top picture) that means that there are the same amount of studs length and width-wise as on the first row or column (I simply couldnt draw them all). The colors: LG = light grey, DG = dark grey, B = blue, R = dark red, Y = yellow, W = white. The inventory is around 95% complete. The few bricks that I have failed to count and include were a bit intricate for me to draw. The colors of the bricks have been noted down correctly but there is a slight chance that my eyes may have deceived me on occasions. So I invite all those interested to please contribute to this thread so that we can put together a complete and accurate inventory for everyone. Malevolence: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

Malevolence thread (incl brick inventory).
legolandia replied to legolandia's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks guys. From what I've read so far one needs to use quite a few 2009 sets in order to build the Malevolence and the financial consequence of that would be huge. Hence why I decided to build this inventory which works out a lot lot cheaper. Finding out which bricks would be from which 2009 set is a huge task and even if it could be done collectively here I dont think it would benefit much. I simply can't see many people buying all those sets just to use the bricks to build the Malevolence (it's not worth it really). The cheaper option would be to get the bricks from Bricklink really. -

Because I didnt know the names of each individual brick I went about it the long way and drew each different brick and put number of pins, color and quantity next to it. So I will take pictures of each page I have drawn and post them here and then someone can add on to the info if needed. Hope that is OK. -

Lol, good phones.... Thank you, the venator is the second of my 4 all time Star wars favourite ships. For some reason I have it fixated in my mind that whenever the venators or the big ships came out of hyperspace they came out in 3s so I decided to get 3 venators and 3 Imperial cruisers (only got 2 so far) in order to recreate a nice scene. Will post some better quality pictures of this and the rest of the stuff I have once I receive my new camera. Breaking the 2009 sets in order to make the malevolence would be a sin (Obviously Lego wants people to buy more and I think that is one of the reasons why they havent provided a brick inventory at the end of the Malevolence instructions ). I had enough patience to go through the instructions page by page and make an inventory of all the bricks used, which I then purchased on Bricklink. Based on my calculations you only need to spend around £50 to buy all the bricks needed. -

Here is my humble collection. Only interested in the big ships, my son plays with the small ones. Sorry about the pic quality (taken with my phone). -
Sorry KimT didnt express myself properly. What I meant was that $550 looked cheap compared to the $750 price. Both of them are still way too expensive in my opinion. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $70 for a rare minifig. I have all the SW minifigs Lego has ever made appart from the chrome C3PO and Bobba with printed legs. As much as i would love to complete my collection I wouldnt pay $100 that they have been listed for on Bricklink.
-
That is cheap. Some unscrupulous individual on Bricklink wants $750 for one of these
-
Thank you for your generosity. By "how to make them available" do you mean what software to use or something else?
-
Walter, that is one beautiful design. And i am glad that someone is coming up with a ship that hasn't been made by Lego. Can't wait to see the pics. PS: This is just an idea but if you released the building instructions in PDF I would be prepared to pay for them. And maybe others would and that way you could get some money towards the brick fund
-
It's a beautiful ship, my second favourite (after malevolence of course). Bought another 2 off ebay today for a total of £120 (full sets and all).
-
With the expensive sets I personally wait for a few months after they have come out. By that time quite a lot of people who can't wait have bought the sets and start selling the minifigs. The more people start selling the minifigs the cheaper they get. Plus you have a good chance that the whole sets themselves (including minifigs would sell on ebay for cheap. I picked a Venator up from ebay recently for £80 (brand new in box, minifigs included). Patience is the key.

I hope lego decides to make a nice large size Malevolence ship and Banking Clan Munificent class star frigate. i love both those ships and their shapes are stunning. I am surprised no one has made an MOC of them yet.

The clocks are gorgeous. Definitely getting a Stormie one.
