There is only one version of Ceremony Luke. It's just that in some of the minifigures the paint layers haven't gone on properly and hence have caused the white pupils/ no white pupils variants.

Not to be a killjoy but based on the minifigures released in the past couple of years from Lego the latter seem to have abandoned that "simple" style of minifigures. Nowadays the new minifigs come with quite expressive faces. Particularly since they are based on the CW episodes. I personally doubt we will get an old style minifigure anymore, at least not until the CW Season 5 has finished. Then again I am quite happy with CW style minifigs so no objections from me.

Well considering that there's only 6 sets confirmed so far I look forward to the other 10+ that will be released in 2011. I am presuming we will get 20+ sets in 2011 based on the history of the previous 2 years. One thing is for sure so far: definitely a good year for minifigures.

Yes I fully agree. Please guys, I enjoy visiting this forum and posting now and again. Don't ruin it again with another 20 pages about the mysterious Jordan (and his grandad). I believe KimT has also patiently warned about this several times. In my opinion it seems that recently Lego is going through a phase of re-releasing new molds for a lot of the old minifigures. Which honestly makes my day.

Lego is a business that makes toys for children (which some adults have decided to collect). The Star Wars line has and is (in my opinion) the biggest cash cow in the Lego product line. It is logical that Lego will strive to provide more accuracy as the years progress (and production processes too). People who started collecting LSW in the years gone by see the sets of today as too complicated and accurate. Those who have just started collecting will probably see the sets of 2020 as too accurate and so on. People who like OT see CW as too childlike/commercialized/ etc. In 10-15 years time Lucas Films will probably (read: hopefully) bring out something that concentrates in a new era in SW and the CW fans of today will probably see that as too rubbish(or whatever else). Nostalgia for "the old days" always occurs and Lego has to continue in its path because it would never be able to keep everyone happy. Personally I think that the OT period has been done to death. Nothing else that Lego could bring out apart from repeats. Still in order to satisfy the "old" fans Lego does continue to bring out a set or two from the OT era a year. The PT does still have potential simply because of the larger variety of characters and vehicles that it presented. And the CW is an extension of the PT which is introducing even more characters and vehicles and giving Lego an opportunity to release fresh stuff (and particularly new characters). At the moment CW is all the rage with kids (and some grown up fans too) and it is obvious and logical that Lego will pursue in that direction to satisfy the market. Personally I collect LSW minifigures only and am very happy with Lego's new sets. In all honesty I think that you can never have enough of SW and I hope that in the future LucasFilms and Lego SW will continue to bring out new and exciting stuff in their respective areas.

The last two?! There is only 1 Darth Maul figure that has ever been made and included in different sets. I fully agree. A new Darth Maul with rubber head that includes horns would look really nice. Quite a few of the old minifigures have been re-designed recently (in the Clone Wars era) and Darth Maul is well overdue for a fresh design. And that template could be also used in the future for making Savage.

Is it possible to ask the moderators to put a ban on talking about Jordan please? No offense to anyone here but it is so frustrating when you visit the forum and find out that there are 10+ new pages you have to read. You get excited about the possibility of more pictures etc only to just find out that the majority of the posts are about Jordan (and his grandad). If things go on at this rate we will probably reach 400 pages by January.

I am quite excited about the new Sith Infiltrator and pod racers because I am hoping that finally we may get a decent Darth Maul with a rubber head and a decent sebulba too. Fingers crossed. Contradicting yourself a bit there

In UK these are available at Firebox.com if people are interested.

Ah true, my apologies. I got confused with the red droid with white printing on the chest.
-
I don't think it is tan but white instead. And that has been released a few years back, so it isn't new.

For me as a minifigure collector the early 2011 wave is fantastic. So many new and great minifigures to add to my collection. I hope the second wave brings more great minifigs. I am a bit surprised when I read about people being OT fans or CW fans, etc. In my eyes I have always viewed Star Wars as one and have never distinguished between the different periods/films. A lot of people also moan about the CW sets but to tell the truth if it wasn't for the CW series we probably wouldn't have got all these great minifigures (and ships for that matter). And I am feeling a bit sorry for the green clone in the battle pack since everyone is lusting after the orange and ARF guys and he only gets mentioned very rarely.

Which is your favourite 2011 set with pictures?
legolandia replied to Lord Embo's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well I am a strictly Lego Star Wars minifigs only collector so for me the best one so far is the Bounty hunter ship since it comes with 3 new minifigs. The Jedi ship would have been first for me if it had included Vos. -
Personally I think the current two designs are fine (normal and curved). The only thing I'd like to see in the future is a jedi with yellow blade and also a black hilt for Vader's saber.

I have never seen an assassin droid with printed head!!?

Who is the best Jedi(besides Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi
legolandia replied to master windu 7495's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I find it difficult to choose the best jedi due to the fact that the novels are mainly concentrated on a few Jedi only ( Yoda, Qui Gon, Anakin, Obi, Mace Windu). I hope in the future writters will decide to write novels based on the other jedis of the order so that we get to know them more in depth. I quite like Kit Fisto although the brief scene in Episode 3 made it appear that he was killed pretty easily. -
With the number of minifigures listed in the sets quoted above I can tell you that there's no need to wait for time to tell. The answer is that if your local TrU retailer was pulling your leg any harder it would probably come off. There is no way that Lego would release a set with that many minifigures in it (and particularly a set where there are 2 minifigs of the same character in different outfits).
-
Oh this is my favourite thread of all since I only collect the Lego SW minifigures. I must admit I wish that Lego release as many as possible minifigs through the years however I have a soft spot for the bith band and the different variants of clones troopers (uniforms). One other thing I wish as well is that Lego stops releasing as many variants of Han Solo and Luke and concentrate more on the rest.

A tactical droid would be nice for the collection and as far as a space skeleton goes I would guess it is just a skeleton with a fancy name.

Lego lost trademark challenge of usage of red 3D 2x4 rendering
legolandia replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I fully agree. Competition is always good for customers. I am glad that Lego's domination has ended. The appearance of the clones in the future means that those who can't afford Lego's prices or don't want to splash a large sum for a toy which their kids will probably destroy etc can buy the cheaper brands. And also hopefully Lego's prices will fall down too, although I doubt that will happen with exclusive licences such as Star Wars. -
Ah, I wasn't aware they were in there. Thank you very much guys.
-
KimT, thank you for the review. Absolutely fantastic. And providing the link for the instructions is very generous. I wish someone would be generous at some point to post a link to the instructions of the other set (with Yoda, etc) too.

I collect Lego Star Wars minifigures and have been looking on ebay and bricklink for the minifigures from the new second half of 2010 sets. I have noticeed recently that there are some sellers that are listing minifigures in the tens and sometimes hundreds in quantity which, has worried me a bit. Does anyone know if Legos have a history of being faked? I mean I know there are some sellers on ebay that stick fancy pictures, and words such as "lego genuine", "collectors guild" etc etc and several accessories to minifigs and sell them for high amounts pretending that they are minifigures that Lego has brought out. But I am not sure if those pesky copymasters in the far far east have turned their attention to Lego as well as everything else?
