Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
wackyfm replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If it is real, not so thrilled as well by what we saw. I have all modulars so far and I consider them as the pinacle of Lego sets and series. While obviously all having different place and time inspiration, when placed next to each other they make an extremely consistant display. This new possible set does not look it will fit as much in this. Will get it for sure, a it will probably look great by itself, but it is the first time I don’t feel enthusiastic at the release of a new modular. That being said, I will love to see an official announcement soon and get my mind changed. Wakwak -
Whaou... So sad! I'm happy this set is made again available because it is a nice one but I can only hope this re-release is not taking the spot of a new WV set for 2015. WV and Modular Building are announcements I'm looking forward the most each years as both series are a delight to build and collect. I'm certainely not looking forward to a 2016 Winter Village Bakery. So sad... Wakwak

Hmm, I kind of disagree here. I like how the skyline of the modular street has different height and style. A leveled skyline would look boring. I agree that the recent modulars lack of grandeur, but I think it is good that TLC proposes different size and syle of building. Wakwak

Yep, just saw the novelties on display and the two trains are definitively on my buying list. As well as the creator Bike Repair and coffee shop and some of the arctic sets, especially for the new dog. There was a very nice Friends shopping mall as well. Other than "town" related, the new Star Wars snow speeder and cantina sets are very nice and was disappointed by the lack of focus on LOTR and The Hobbit. Wakwak

It does look more in line (than Pisa tower) with the other architecture sets of big building (ESB,...). It was showcased next to The Imperial Hotel at Nuremberg. Wakwak

There is the United Nations HQ (New York)... (seen it at Nuremberg show room) Wakwak

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this but there is also two sets for City 2013 that are race team trucks. One include a red 4x4 and another one a Octan sponsored formula 1. Unfortunately I do not remember the set numbers. Wakwak EDIT: sorry, did not see that some pictures has already surfaced for 60025 and 60027

Hello, I'm looking after the Horseback Rider (opened is ok) from the Team GB minifigures. I have some opened doubles (Swimmer, Runner, Boxer, Tennis Player,...) so I'd like to make a trade. Best would be someone in France (I'm located in Paris), but I can ship in Europe (UK). Please PM if interested. Thanks

Hey thanks. I did find them in the end, at the WHSmith at Waterloo station. But they came at the high price of £3,49 per pack. I have no time to take my chance in another store, so I took 20 packs: the store clerk's face was kind of funny then! I'm still missing the horse rider, so I some are open to exchange ;-) Cheers, Wakwak

As Dino, I'll be in London Thursday. Could some kind London Eurobrickers point me a store where I can find and buy some Team GB minifigures? The area of Leicester Square / Covent Garden would be perfect. I don't plan to buy a box but around 30 packs. Many many many many thanks, Wakwak

Pretty excited by this new house, but this price increase issue is disturbing. I can't afford too many expensive sets. A first, I was ready to pre-order this on lego shop when possible, but now I will wait and eventually buy it if I find the set discounted on another online retailer... Sad... Wakwak

I have all modular buildings (just received the TH this morning). I really like the GE exterior and it is very impressive as a corner building. But I have to admit that I became quite fond of the PS: The build is cool and full of nice technics (while most have been seen elsewhere, it nice to have this little concentrate). Also, as the building are quite tiny compare to other, it's interesting to see how so many stuff where pack into so little space. But for me, the key of PS is that it is a living building. Included, you have 1 house and 1 apartment and it is necessary to have some places to live in my modular street among the places to work ;-). What I do like about the modular building line, is that it is not race against size, and instead of looking always bigger and bigger, all of them has very distinctive look and features. Cheers Wakwak

There is a new mold for Sting for sure (included in Shelob set). But from what I saw (or remember) all the other sword are the same as the ones we saw on the posters with the minifigs. Cheers, Wakwak

This is what I saw at Nuremberg Toy Fair. Well maybe it may change in the final version of the set but I would not understand why (not too certain about posting a picture, it seems it is not allowed). Cheers. Wakwak

Nope Gandalf Arrives has indeed the new horse. Cheers, Wakwak.

I was able to visit the entire show room at the toy fair. And there is definately a throne below the Rohan flag. I started saving money from the minute I saw the sets for real. And LOTR is not the only theme I'm excited for. Cheers Wakwak

From what I remember, there is a throne room inside Helm's deep. Cheers, Wakwak

Sorry if it has been said before, but Sting is a new mold. And the sets are fantastic. I can't find how to enclose a picture in iOS.

I love to see my 4 years old daughter play with my lego. We usually invent wonderful stories and we like to include small train layouts when we play together. He favorite stuff, is when I let her play with may modular buildings, but it's kind or rare. She also love swooshing some a-wing or x-wing around. She is very careful, and she understand that lego are important to me. I fail to remember all the other stuff she loves about lego, but it certainly includes: - looking at sets in store shelves, and dreaming to buy the biggest ones. - feeling the bags of collectible minifigures to try to find which one - building minifigures - lightsabers duel with Darth Vader and Luke minifigs - play cop & thief with my police station There is even some sets that she help me build ;-) Cheers Wakwak

I rencently tried to clean some parts in the washing machine (using a small net) but it ended up damaging the part (many little scratches). Could some please describe how to clean parts in a dishwasher ? I have a lot of parts with a lot of dust to clean ;-) Thanks, Wakwak

Dear French Lego enthusiast, I found nice sales for lego in Carrefour Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt (95350), with 50% off on SRP. I don't if those sales are nation wide or not, but here is the sets I found there: Atlantis: 8056, 8057, 8061, 8075, 8078 Star Wars: 7930, 8015 City: 3181, 8403, Toy Story: 7591, 7592, 7593, 7595, 7598, 7789 Games: 3840, 3843 Racers: 8193 World Racers: 8864 Of course, some of these had already a couple of box left. Some other where displayed in the middle of an alley with box slightly damaged. If you find something elsewhere, do note hesitate to share. Cheers, Wakwak
