    Shadow Phantom

Sure, I don't mind modifying the template. However, this time around, the template would look better if you took the pics against an all white background. Blank paper works fine. *y*

Really Kikuichimonji? I don't love green, but it goes well with the black and grey.

    Cyclone Defender alternative: Tiger Defender

I'm not as hardcore as you seem to be, but It'll be unfortunate. At least I still have a few more volumes of Foxtrot to read before I know them all. Ending that off topic discussion... :-P Do you think Lego will ever make alternates. It might be similar to your alternate Jeffry!!! 8-

Very cool! I made an alternate once for my brother using his Shadow Crawler, 'cause he wanted me too. *y* I'll make the template right away! EDIT: TEMPLATE

    Exo Force Summer Sets

Golden Tower-It's pretty good, but I would have like more minifigures! Robot Tank-Grandeur! Those robot little jets are cool! So is Ryo's machine. But his uniform thing is probably a prototype. This may nevr replace Bridge Walker as the ultimate weapon of devastation though. *skull* Ha-Ya-To's Machine-Although he's my least favorite pilot, I'm loving his machine. Those jet engines are cool.

    2007 Human Army Review

Once again, I apoligize for the fact that my reviews have no pictures. My camera is broken. In 2006, the mechas were great on the human side (Except Uplink). But all of them were missing something (Especially Uplink!). And they've now got that in 2007! And for my hatred of Uplink... Cyclone Defender is much better. On with the show CYCLONE DEFENDER The human boxes seem very similar to the robots. However, their little gold strip with the pilot is a little more... Anime-Style. The Cyclone Defender is shown in a dynamic pose, racing throuigh the Golden City. The back shows a bit of the comic, which in my opinion, is a bit lacking. The parts may be the best of the human mechs. The dark green stands out, and the yellow and white parts are great for adding detail to any MOC. In addition to this, we also get some of those great Technic/System joints. However, my favorite parts are the two Samurai Swords, not something I've seen much of in sets lately. Building the Cyclone Defender surprised me. It has a very different build than Claw Crusher. I love building gear-mechanisms, and so I loved building the sheild. It's like a mini Blade Titan. The hollow build, however, is still there and it really makes me sick! The Ryo minifigure included is great! It has some metallic-gold areas and the new dark colored jumpsuit makes his purple hair stand out so much more. The mecha itself is awesome, with a few drawbacks. First the good: The fingers look so natural grasping the laser gun. Also, the canopy construction is really genius. I really like the wrench included, this adds a play factor for kids. They pop off a plate on Sky Guardian or Blade Titan, then send in Ryo with his wrench to fix it. :-P The bad however, is the lack of articulation, which brings his grade down. I just can't pose Cyclone Defender as well as Claw Crusher. In the end, I like this set. Not as good as Claw Crusher, its evil twin, but still, I suggest buying it. RATING 89 B+ SKY GUARDIAN The metallic box really fits with this years theme. It will definately catch the eye of shoppers, and seeing as these guys protect the Golden City... I love the back. It shows Sky Guardian's features in action. Back on the front, it seems as though Sky Guardian is popping out at you. (This sometimes freaks me out,) The parts are great. Not as good as its little brother, Cyclone Defender, but you have to love those Technic/System parts, the dark blue plates, and the little rocket pieces. In addition, this mech has a new sword. It's cool looking, but I don't really like the flimsy plastic it's made from. On a brighter note, we see a lot of classic space engine pieces. The building expierience is one of the best I've had in this line up. The instructions are very straightforward. The most interesting part was building the cockpit. An area that needs improvement are the head mounted guns. They could be on a 2x3 plate to keep them steadier. The toy itself is fun to play with, my favorite part of the human line up, this year. The minifigure of Hikaru (New type) is very cool. He's also my favorite.m The only negatives are the Zamor Launcher. I like the idea, but this one is hard to shoot. Also, the arms. Because the wings are mounted on the upper arms, it is hard to pose this mecha. In the end, I love this mecha. I stress that you buy this one if you plan on buying any of the human vehicles! RATING 94 A BLADE TITAN I never really liked land-based mechas. But this time I stressed it! The pose is my favorite of the human mechas, The way the blade-shield is coming otu at you, the metallic area, it all adds up to this very attractive package! As with all the mechas, the back shows the feature in action. The parts are also great here. We have a huge supply of dark red and white bricks. In addition, those who enjoy BIONICLE will rejoice. Two red/white Takanuva blades are included! Also, the Technic/System parts are here, and we see them a lot! Another highlight in this set, and in all other 2007 Exo Force sets, is the huge supply of tiles. Flat tiles galore! The building expierience was a tad boring. However, I knew I had a great mecha coming so I braved it. I didn't really favor the blade-shield design. It ws flimsy ayt first, but onc eit was built, I like d it. A clever part was the inclusion of cannons neatly attached to the top Technic panels. The toy itself was great. The actionf eature works beautifully, except for the fact that you must re-set it when you want to make the blades come out again. The articulations great, this set has a lot of free movement included. Along with that, we see an opening cockpit to reveal Takeshi. His red suit is one of my favorites, especially since it's dark red. In the end, I suggest this set. It feels very, erm, mechaish. RATING 92 A-

    2007 Bionicle

Now I do recall Greg saying at a book signing in '05 that 2006 would be easy to understand... :-P I guess he is kind of un original. About the Barraki, some look like Lego gave the average video game-zombified first grader a bucket of parts and the hideous product was revealed as the new villains, some look like someone put real effort into them. I'm split on these guys... Oh, and so help me, but I'm suspicious of the next collectible being little stones. :-)

What do you think 2007 exo-force has for us?

Last I checked he was normal old suit. I can't wait to see him!

    2007 Robot Army Review

I have no pictures in my reviews lately as my camera's lense seems to be jammed... Hope this is good though... Last year the robot force was definately an exciting group of sets, but the initial December/January release sets seemed a bit... bla? No doubt they were fine kits, but was sand blue the color that defines evil? And Sentry, great as it was, had that horrible brownish color. Only Thunder Fury, my favorite of the first mechs really screamed "EEEEEEVVVVIIIIL!". This year, we start out fresh. These pitch black mechas of the evil robots just seem, well, darker (No pun intended). The Iron Condor with those long black wings strike fear into me more than rotars. And the Shadow Crawler, with that fallen Exo-Force pilot puts a different mindset into the line. Claw Crusher, also, is a great set. Onto the reviews!!!! CLAW CRUSHER The first thing any toy buyer will notice is the new box. It's about half the size of one of the fifteen dollar mechs, and also has a new design. The gold border really gets you thinking about next year's Golden City. The back is just a back of a Lego box, not too exciting. I'll note here though, that a prieview of the comic in the instructions. After eagerley awaiting the time to tear this toy open, I got my chance. The parts were many for a set of this size. The price/parts ratio is about eight cents per piece. Many are of the same mold that the Sentry was but in different colors. For example, the black triangle armor parts, the chrome missile (ME LIKE!). Also, another good part is the black astromech body. We also encounter some of the Technic/System parts here, which are great for MOCing! The orange is nice, but not in a large enough supply to be helpful unless you bought a bunch of Claw Crushers. The building expierience is satisfying, as always. Some interesting parts are the hollow center, which I don't mind, but am not a big fan of . The stickers are as always, a pain, but they go in easier to get to places this year, so a thumbs up to that. On the subject of stickers, the code brick is (hold your breath!) NOT A STICKER! Once you're done with this model, you can see the robot soldier in his glory. The pilot, one of my favorite parts, is a Devastator, not an Iron Drone! Also, the mech itself has multiple points of articulation. Overall, a well done set. RATING 92/100 A- Next up... Shadow Crawler The box of these new large sets is a thing of beauty. I mean, the gold lining, the metallic covoring. As I said earlier, it all says Golden City on it!!!! The only missing part is a flap. But this time the comics are in the instructions. I liked the flap, but I'll live. The parts in here are probably the best if all the sets. Those green orbs definately will make some good flying saucers. In addition to this, the green and black parts just want to become a space ship. However, since I have all the '07 sets thus far, I'll not be cannabalizing Shadow Crawler, but if you're a MOCer, it's a great parts pack. The set itself is pretty cool. Two minigfigures in one set may become the highlight of this set. The articulation pulls down this guys grade. I would've like better, but alas, this robot probably is supposed to scuttle. The gun movement on ball joints is a cool idea. I like it. Also, once again, the code brick is a printed tile. I really think this is a classic. Kudos to Lego on a well done set, and the first tri-pod mecha yet! RATING 94/100 A- Iron Condor Saving my favorite for last! That box, as I've said before is awesome! And in this pose, it seems as though the Iron Condors are dropping from the sky in the dead of night, making life hellish for the Exo-Force! The gold lining here, looks out of place, but I guess the set itself would look more out of place without it. The parts included are very cool!. Two jet engines, wings, trans red parts and some cool black tiles. Also, we get some extra robot arms and those neat red viking horns, which fit perfectley onto the arms. The technic parts included are nothing too special. Overall, if you want to MOC this set, trash the wings. The building expierience was my favorite part, next to playign with the set. I like the technique used to make the waist swivel. At first, I thought it would be floppy, but I was wrong! Also, Building the legs is fun, but the shins are confusing at first glance. The playing expierience is superb! I just love the missile. It shoots quite far. Also, the articulation is great. I enjoy using the ball joints. They allow for free movement moreso in the arms. Not that the legs are bad. tHe only thing the finished model could have used was a cockpit. This is my favorite of the 2007 collection. The yellow and black stand out, and the set has good parts. I also like the features! However, the cockpit was lacking and kept the IC from being perfect... RATING 97/100 A Hope these help. The human reviews will come tommorow.

    Cyclone Defender alternative: Tiger Defender

Cool! Mind if I added this to Mecha Combat, my game? I like the cockpit best. the back looks a bit bulky, but the use of ninja swords as antennas is great! I also like the weapons!

What do you think 2007 exo-force has for us?

About Iron Drones, the code brick says Claw Crusher is driven by an Iron Drone, but the box says it's a Devastator. Hmmmmm Also, I have proof of a robot fortress. 1. The EXF hair colors are red, green, baby blue, and purple 2. The KK hair colors are red, green, baby blue, and purple 3. In year 1 EXF we got a good-guy base 4. In KK year 1 we got the castle of Morcia 5. In EXF year 2 we should get a bad-guy fortress 6. because Vladek had a fort in KK2.2! This is no chance occurence! There are so many other relations in EXF and KK!

    2007 Human Army Review

Yes. Gate Defender had the potential to be good, but then it was just, ugly. That hand was too big, the missiles looked terrible. And worst of all, Ha-Ya-To was in it! He's not worthy! He's an extra Hikaru with red hair and a bad sense of humor.
  21. vahkimetru

What do you think 2007 exo-force has for us?

Unfortunately, it looks like Ha-Ya-To is gone. Only 3 machines were found in the Golden Tower, and Takeshi, Hikaru, and Ryo, were sent to the Golden City. Ah well, he was my least favorite.

    nocturn

Everyone at BZP seems to have lost their sense of free opinion. They all seem to love each set Lego throws at us. They love this thing, which truley, is jsut a Barraki with two extra arms thrown on and some decorations.

Thanks all. Really dillthepill? I liked Sky Guardian. But then I love all flying mechs except... Gate Defender!
  24. TOURNAMENT This is a new style of play. It allows you to play with many people, and is available in several ways to play. In this game you still play with the original Mecha Combat rules, just add these! ________________________________________________________________________________ _________ SIDELINES In tournament play, there are barriars. These can be made from Lego, paper, or anything sufficient. The barriers are impenatrabel, unlike obstacles. PIT STOP Repairs? Yep! If a Battle Machine has is low on life, you can sacrifice points from another machine in the hangar. Then, your Battle Machine walks out of the pit stop, good as new. ALLIED TEAMS Since many people will be playing in this one game, you can form alliances. However, these alliances must remain, and must be decided Pre-game. In addition, you can only ally with human teams if you are a human, and robot if you are a robot. INFANTRY UNITS Minifigures are a great way to soften the enemy, with 4/20 life and 5 attack points. Have fun!
