Thank you for doing this again...sorry I'm late to the party. ~Stacy

This was truly amazing to see in person! Dave and I had a great time admiring all the details, loved the seek-and-find, and really enjoyed chatting with you. Can't wait to try out your bookshelf technique! ~Stacy

Ahhh..so this is what you've been up to! You did an amazing job capturing the fine details of the house, the stone-looking parts are exceptionally well done!

Dr. Jones it is wonderful to see you've joined the Eurobricks crowd! I must admit your "banned" MOC was well built and had a tantalizing story....perhaps someday the Eurobricks crew will be able to enjoy it as well. Again, welcome to Eurobricks!! ~Stacy

Something I found that works quite well was a golf ball display case (found at JoAnn Etc, or any other similar craft store). I have my Fabuland figs displayed in mine (quick picture here on Flickr) and I think it would work quite well for minifigs too. Cost was $50 but I got it for $30, so the price is very reasonable. I'm planning to pick up another one for my Harry Potter figs :) Hope that helps. ~Stacy

How did you get your wife hooked on the Lego hobby?
Stacy_ToT-LUG replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Like Dave said I was into building as a kid (my brother had a decent sized collection and was kind enough to let me play) and when we brought his collection to the house, I was hooked again. The beauty of the bricks is that I could build something, tear it apart and try something completely different - or I could just remove a section and change it to fit my needs. It was the toy that had unlimited possibilities. Now, building with LEGO is a creative outlet for me. For someone who doesn't have much skill at drawing or painting, LEGO is a way for me to relay my ideas/vision in a medium that I can easily manipulate. If your wife is an artsy or creative type, this might be a good angle to try. ~Stacy -
I wasn't able to find the exact Duplo commercial, but they do have three that are similar (boy and a girl playing with the sets together) on the Duplo site. If I track down the latest one, I'll be sure to post a link. ~Stacy

I saw the commercial today and was very excited to see 1) a kid actually building 2) a parent and kid building together and 3) a kid building something from his imagination - not just a set. Excellent work LEGO Group, this is the kind of commercial I love to see. Recently I saw a Duplo commercial with a little boy and girl playing together and was equally impressed with the concept there. I can only hope that they keep putting girls into their commercials, and not just the Duplo commercials (hint, hint). ~Stacy

Here is my entry for the raffle- thanks for doing this!! Merry Christmas! ~Stacy

Glad to hear that the sets are starting to arrive at the stores - I'll have to get out and pick some up for gifts!! We were lucky enough to find the Power Miners impulse sets at Target around Halloween this year. We found them in the special candy aisle (where they have the seasonal candies, PEZ dispensers, etc.) of all places. Then again, this is where we found the Star Wars impulse sets last year too, in the Christmas candy aisle buried under some random themed candies. For those of you who are seeking the impulse sets, be sure to look in those places first ~Stacy

Adding to Dave's list above - one of our favorites (gasp, I can't believe he forgot this one!) is Agricola. Excellent strategy game if you're into a challenging game. ~Stacy

Dave and I are planning to be there - it is such a great event that it would take something monumental for us to miss it! Both of us are on the Coordinator team for 2010, so we're both very excited. I'll be doing the FFOL events and Dave is working with the train clubs. To the FFOLs - I'll be coming to you for some ideas (even if you're not going to be at Brickworld) on round table discussions, activities, etc. - stay tuned! ~Stacy

I truly love this set - it is one of two Harry Potter sets that I have not modified. That said, I never noticed the Fabuland cauldron, so checked all of the cauldrons in our collection and noticed that all but one had the Fabuland stamp...curious....they scratched off Fabuland and put in LEGO.... After doing a little digging, I see that the change to the LEGO cauldrons came with the 2008 Castle Advent Calendar (set 7979). So, there's a little nugget of useless information that you can amuse your HP/Castle friends with. Thanks for the review! ~Stacy
