Ragnarök Now - Day Two
Capt. Redblade replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
My word, Carl must be very hungover. He's so out of it he's forgotten his proper syntax. -
Ragnarök Now - Day Two
Capt. Redblade replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If you were worried that we would end up lynching one of our own, why didn't you say something? It wasn't too late to change your vote. It wasn't too late to say something in Danr's defence. Looking over the reconstructed transcripts of the last day's events, it seems that you completely disappeared in the second half of the day. Indeed, your last recorded words are you placing your vote for Danr. And susbsequently, when votes were levied in your direction, you did nothing to answer your own accusers. What happened? Were you scared that if you unvoted Danr you would have to face those who voted for you? That if you did one but not t'other, then you would be chastised for not answering? Were you afraid to unvote Danr, knowing that the bandwagon against him might turn on you? Or did you just look at the lynch mob forming on the horizon and think to yourself, "Welp, I've sent an innocent man to the gallows. Might as well call it a day"? I'll admit, this isn't as solid a case as I'd like it to be, but my scumdar is going mad nevertheless. -

Carl has a serious speech impediment. He cannot help talking like this. Or perhaps the Scum did kill Steinvoir, knowing his dark past and setting up the vig for suspicion of metagaming, hiding their actions behind him/her, then either the vig or the SK would have killed Jormund, and the third (if he exists) was blocked. If there is a third killer, we shall certainly know soon enough. -

Hmm... Yet another game in which Danny was involved. He must be cursed. -

I don't know what it is, but I actually quite like the TDKR set. It has a certain... je ne sais quoi that I just find really attractive. Maybe it's the cartoonish veneer being applied to such a mature movie, or maybe it's the adorable mini-Tumbler. -

Oi! The third person is Carl's thing! Don't make Carl come over there! And yes, he is still here. Let us waste no time in resuming our (after)lives. -

1) Several games' worth. In reverse order: Yakuza, Gotham, and Isla Paradisa, one of the first Mafia School games on EB! 2) I'm fairly sure I will be. 3) Hoenir. Somewhat quiet, occasionally noncommittal and indecisive (gotta fix that), but can still be helpful when needed. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Capt. Redblade replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Surely you jest. Danny DeVito's Penguin is one of the reasons why DC dropped Burton and picked up Schumacher. The movie tanked specifically because the character was a mismarketed child-traumatizing monster. Batman Returns-hate aside, I have to wonder why everyone assumes that these minifigures we've seen will be the only ones in the next wave. It's not like we saw all the first wave figures well in advance. There may be a couple new ones we haven't seen yet, or they may throw in some first-wave figs to fill out the sets. -
Top Five Things I Miss About Old School LEGO

Now I'm sad because there are no more baseplates. Come back, baseplates, we miss you! -
Review: 10228 Haunted House
Capt. Redblade replied to mostlytechnic's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I've never been one for modulars, but this and the Town Hall are seriously making me reconsider that stance. This would be great to display on Halloween! Also, I find it really helps the mood to have this playing in the background while reading the review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YFk4b6yeX4 -
Review: 9465 The Zombies
Capt. Redblade replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review, Pengy! I kept telling myself I was going to get this after I got the hearse, but now that I have the latter, I can't find the former! Incidentally, Fire-breathing Steam Train From Hell is the name of my cousin's death metal band. -
Build your own Pirate LEGO Animal Battle Pack - Survey
Capt. Redblade replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Here's what I'd like to see: Animal Battle Pack - Totaling 14 points. 1 x Shark (Classic) = 5 points 1 x Saw Shark = 5 points 1 x Parrot = 1 point 1 x Crab = 1 point 2 x Snake = 2 points. -
I knew it! I suspected it all along, but they said I was mad! Mad! In all seriousness, this is quite a fun vignette. Very disturbing and cute at the same time. It's... cutesturbing.

Well, I've done my part and supported the CUUSOO project. Where are the rest of you lazy bums?

Finally Joined Eurobricks! Or: Hello From Canada, Eh?
Capt. Redblade replied to Souperlizard's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks, newbie! And there isn't anything wrong with an outdated collection, though most of us I think would prefer the term "classic". -
Agreed. You gotta hate it when they make an official set of something that's been MOC'd 1000 times, and then the MOCs are better. That said, awesome work Lego-Freak! I quite like the use of Technic gears for the engines.

Makes sense. I do enjoy me some Pirates and I consider the Imperial Flagship to be the crown jewel of my collection.

Choice Mag Australia's insult to AFOL's
Capt. Redblade replied to BrickTango's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Blasphemers! But, seriously, folks... Doesn't bother me in the least. What I find usually works is to multiply the two numbers of the "recommended age" and think of the product thereof as the maximum recommended age. For instance, if the set I was eyeing were 7-16, the conversation might go like, "7x16=112. Well, I'm still far younger than that, so I guess I'll be taking this home with me." -
Thank you, Hinck. What would we Grammar Nazis do without you?

What do you do with LEGO set boxes?
Capt. Redblade replied to Robominer's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I recycle the boxes simply because... well, I don't have any-bloody-where to put them! I keep the instructions, but I'm starting to think I'll soon need a larger storage area for those. -
What do you do with your sets/MOC once you've built them?
Capt. Redblade replied to hellopike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I like to keep sets on display as long as possible, and only take them apart if I'm running out of shelf space (which is more common than you think ) or if I'm sick of looking at it day in, day out. (A much rarer occurance.) -
Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions
Capt. Redblade replied to V()()D()()'s topic in LEGO Pirates
Found a complete 6268 Renegade Runner with original instructions (no box, though ) for $90 CAN. I've been after this set for a while, so I'm in a good mood today! -
Same here. I'm starting my first year at SFU's Woodward's Campus - a 30-45 minute commute from home. Suckers!

After months of waiting, my local Zellers finally ( ) got the Summer 2012 sets on the 1st of August, so today I went and got myself a 6866 Wolverine's Deadpool Chopper Showdown. Not a bad set. (For a Marvel property, anyway. )
