    Review: 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters

If you follow the instructions of the set and build it correctly you should have no troubles opening and closing the model or transporting it. The roof must stay on the same way you don't flip a jar of pickles upside down with the lid open and expect the content to stay inside! The model isn't complete without the roof, and the "dollhouse" configuration is the primary way of accessing the inside of it. :) About what some have started to refer as "an issue" regarding the opening and closing of the model, remember that this is the 3rd largest LEGO model ever produced in terms of number of elements. It has the biggest "hingable" section ever encountered in a LEGO official product: it naturally requires just a bit more of care when handling it. That's all. Other than that, you should all be able to enjoy and play with your models with no trouble! :)

Thank you for your great review, CorneliusMurdock! Not only for the amazing score, but for all the effort in going into so much detail on your evaluation! It really humbles me everytime someone shows so much respect and admiration for something I've worked on. Merry Christmas to you all!

    75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion

You need to remove the ground-floor's furniture (they are easily removable) in order to have room to park the car and close the doors, but the Ecto-1 does go through the entrance! it was the compromise I had to make between making the car "fit the model" without leaving a big empty space in the ground-floor and compromising on details like Janine or Peter's desks.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

This is why we can never please everybody! 8-) Two people almost right after each other have completely opposite interests in regards of what a set should have, given that for their scale they can't have both - space for figures and an interesting and "impacting" play feature. Me, as the designer of the 3 of them, I'd say my favorite replica - for now, since I haven't seen the Avengers: Age Of Ultron movie yet - is the Milano, and although I agree that the lack of a key play feature is a downside, I had to stick to the main brief of getting an accurate model with room for all the characters - except Groot for obvious reasons! :) I have a special place in my heart for the first Quinjet, because it was indeed the first one, but the newest is my favorite one, because the original model has gotten a much slicker and aerodynamic look and I'm very proud of the look of the final product. And seeing the main play feature already depicted in the movie trailer really pumped me up! Can't wait to see the whole thing! So, my advice would be: get them all! ;)

    UCS Helicarrier

Are you sure you followed the instructions correctly? The mechanism isn't totally symmetric, so you might have missed something. The "H" and "X" configuration shouldn't affect anything in this matter.

Basic motions of a quad rotor can be described using the model of the following picture. The instruction of the LEGO model replicate this same physics principal. ;)
  9. This is model I have built back in the first half of 2012. I don´t have the physical model anymore, but I just found the pics I had in my archive and decided to finally post it. It´s a steampunk submarine, originated from a former pirate ship that was converted. It had no interiors. It was simply a tryout into this world I quite love and admire for its aesthetic richness but to which I had never dared to dive. So, here's my first steampunk adventure! :) There´s more pictures of it on my flickr. Just follow any of the links of the pictures! :)
  10. During the development of the Ecto-1 for LEGO Ideas (former Cuusoo) I couldn't keep myself from creating the original 1959 black Cadillac that got turned into one of the most iconic movie vehicles of the silver screen. This is a very easy MOD that any fan of the movies can make, only having to basically swap the color of the exterior elements and clean up the top of the car. Feel free to navigate on my Flickr for more shots: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/

    Review: 76022 - X-Men vs. The Sentinel

That seems a bit of an overreaction, no? ;) Look at this: Out of 5 different versions of the character, represented in that picture, only one has hair. Now, who's rushing in their assumptions and comments? :) The license partner actually has a lot of a say in what versions we can or cannot use, so it's not just up to us, designers, to pick and put them in the box.

    REVIEW: 21108 Ghostbusters

Thank you for asking! :) Often we notice in building tests we do with kids that they have a serious hard time pressing plates together. Not only the big ones, but also more "reasonable" sizes like a 2x6. And new consumers - often attracted by IPs like this one, without necessarily having much experience with LEGO - end up having a not optimal experience if we don't take it in consideration that it takes more effort and attention to make sure the bricks are pressed together. With this in mind, having two 2x3 plates instead would have tripled the amount of studs in that area, so I saw a perfect opportunity to introduce an element that I must admit I've completely fallen in love with lately. The color change wasn't done by me. I believe some other product that came or is coming out this year has needed it. Unfortunately I can't always keep track of your comments - you guys write too much! hehe - but I did read some and i must say i'm very happy you guys loved this set. I was thrilled to be part of it and with the great feedback I've been receiving I feel definitely very inspired and motivated for everything else still yet to come! :) So, thank you all!

71006 The Simpsons House (Press Release)

Hi ndawgg! Are you trying to place the piano right agains the wall? I was surprised with you comment, since it never really was an issue during the development process of the model to place the piano in its place. I'm wondering if you are trying to place it closer to the wall than it's meant to be and therefore making the arch kinda push it out of place. Could you give it another look and let me know if the issue is really there? Thank you :)

Thank you for that gigantic close up to my horrible nails!! xD I said it and I repeat: both the arms and the minilegs have both colors molded!! There's no decoration or printing involved! ;) Neat, uh? ;)

REVIEW: 70809 Lord Business' Evil Lair

The minifigures can rotate their heads. ;) Thanks for your nice review of my set.
  22. Hello everybody! It's been a while that I haven't created a MOC, but I finally got back to creating something just for fun, not work related. I didn't always loved pugs, but since I had the chance to play and hang with some of friends little funny pets, I just completely fell for them. Now, they are one of my favorite dogs! So, it only made sense to create my own little pug out of LEGO, so I can have him by my desk at work, inspiring me everyday! :) You can check more photos of the model on my flickr account, here.
  23. No. I've done only one product for creator and it will be out later next year. It's something winterish... ;)
  24. Thank you guys for the nice words! :) Yes, I do indeed. I'm a senior designer, working currently on the Super Heroes team, but always touching on different things... For the past 3 years I've worked on Super Heroes, Star Wars, Creator, LEGO Movie, Lone Ranger, Simpsons and even Cuusoo! :)

REVIEW: 10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout

Thanks for your review! It was really well done and written, paying a lot of attention to all details. :) One of my favorite elements of this set is also the van. I had a great time designing it! And speaking of the design process, feel free you guys to put together a list of questions about this set in particular - like why did the cell stickers include Poison Ivy and not Catwoman or the Riddler? - and then send them to me. I can try to answer to as many as I can. And as a curiosity, Bagend's window was designed after mine, not the other way around. ;)
