    Battle of Hagelberg 1813

Hi, here is the first look of what should become my final entry for the Contest. I selected this Battle for 3 reasons. First, it happened near the little town my grandparents life. Second, it hooked me up with the Era of Napoleon from the moment I saw a model in the little town museum of Belzig as a kid of 6 years. (That was nearly 23 years ago). The third one, is the fact, that the Name of this battle is in German "Kolbenschlacht", meaning "Battle of the (Musket)Butts". It rained all day, the powder was wet and muskets und pistols of no good use, other than to be used as clubs. Here is a link for more information about it:Battle of Hagelberg First, the troops I'll use: Starting with the allied forces of Prussia and Russia. Left to right: Officer of the Landwehr, Landwehr-Lancer, Jaeger of the Landwehr (Sharpshooter like the British Rifles), 2 Landwehr Soldiers of different Regiments. A a Russian Cossack and a Prussian musketeer. The French: Left to right: 2 Saxons from the two Saxon Battalions, Voltingeur, gunner, Hussar, the non-Decal Line-Infantry Soldier and Officer. First shots from the Moc: Still a lot to do in the free space and inside the buildings... The Cossacks attacked the and captured two guns and some wagons of the French, while the Landwehr gonna drove the French back in the City and into full retreat. They allready drove the Voltingeurs into the Church... Still much to do... I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures. Only got my Handy at the moment. The final Moc will be photographed by a better cam. Some more pictures at my Flickr. The Decals I used, can by found at my Brickshelf gallery. (When public) I used a lot of Ideas from the Torso-Index and Brickshelf Sites. But in the end, I put my hand on all the decals. So most of the credit belong to the original creators and lego, for creating the new soldier torso. Hope you like it so far. C&C is welcome!

    Battle of Hagelberg 1813

Thanks for the link. I love your work. It's a shame that none of Lützows Blacks where near Hagelberg. I would have loved to use your decals. By the way, there is still a link on the Lego Knöetel to the Original, wich gave me access to another great site ;) (The back button) Would have been way easier to find uniform references earlier, than searching the Web for Knoetel ... But thanks anyway! Edit: Did anyone know a link, where I can find prussian banners? I had one a long time ago, but I lost it...

    Battle of Hagelberg 1813

I had the idea, that inside the church, where it is dry, some crazy french will try to dry their powder over a fire, at the moment I try to figure out a way to create a litte explosion inside the Lego Saucepan. The foilage will be back soon, at the moment, all the all around my room ;) Sometimes I ask myself, why did I put them there? ;)

    Battle of Hagelberg 1813

Got some new pics of a all new battlefield... because I ran out of space for nearly 100 minifigs, guns and horses in this battle. I still have a lot to do, until the troops can battle it out again. The newer area: Some Ideas for the inside looks: Some details: Sorry - still only my handy to make pics. Just want to inform about my updates...

    The former "Albion"

Great Work. Can't say much more, than the others. I like the rigging and the sails, I'm to clumsy with my hands for that myself ... the general look is great. Hope to see more in the future. Thanks for sharing!

    Bayonets at Dawn

When, not if ;), the contest is successful, is their a chance that the timeline could by enlarged for the second one. I would like to do something like the Siege of Khartoum or even te Boer War for it. (Just read the Simon Fonthill novels by John Wilcox) If not, the Battle of Rorke's Drift would be OK to do, wouldn't it?

    Battle of Austerlitz 1805

Great Customs, I really love the way you customized the Shakos and Bearskings of the Old Guard. What Did You use for the feathers? I'm unable to identify it. What kind of printer did you use for the decals? If got a good Ink Jet, and still some of my darker decals didn't look as good as yours... The Russians look great as well. I'm not a fan of the Austrian Uniforms in white. but I really love your Troops, specially the hungarians infantry with the markings on the trousers. Great work. Can't wait till you post the actual battle... P.S. I loved your Sharpe on your MocPage, too

    The "Kalabalik" at Bender

Great MOC, loved all the little details inside, like the broken bust. I wish I would have that much brown stones right now, would give my W.I.P. Moc for the contest a bit more realistic ... But I Love yours, one of my favorites so far. What did you use for the Turks Headgear?

    Who's at war with who?

I am a German, so I'm British Redcoat in the King's German Legion. I guess I am at peace with the Spanish and French people at the moment. However not Pirates, Islanders. Haven't met any Mermaids yet...

    Your First Pirate Set!

It was my first, too. Got it, back in the day from my Granny. Some days later she bought me the 6521 Mini Figures Set. My first Blue Coats. She hooked me up with it.
