  1. Wow,great pics! The new tow truck looks very impressive. I have to disagree about the distance between the wheels. I'm an automotive technician, and see tow trucks at my work on a daily basis. I have to say this covers the looks of a heavy duty tow rig very accurately. This set is a defenate must have!! I have to disagree with everyone about the new tractor. Though not as impressive as the tow truck, it has its good qualities as well. I for one like the color. Since it looks to be modeled after a farm tractor, i think the color fits it nicely. Has a "John Deer" look going. Its a nice change from the tipical red and yellow every other heavy equipment vehicle lego has made. The rear attachemnt also has some posibilities. I can't wait to see what other rear attachments i can come up with. I can't tell by the pics, but it doesn't look like the 1:8 ferrari has suspention. :( I really hope it does, cause that was the big disapointments of the 1:10 Enzo, and F1 car. Hopefully LEGO will add this feature in the 1:8th scale version. If not, guess i'llbe adding my own. I'm kinda ify on the black truck. Need to see a better pic.

Somthing tells me this thread is just a joke. Nothing he said makes any sense.
  3. Thank you gylman! Your always a great help to any techinc questions i have! Looks like i should be able to us this set as a basis for my prodject!
  4. If so, could you tell me how wide it is in studs? And perhaps measure how long, and high it is (doesn't have to be in studs. Conventional inches will do just fine  ) I'm looking to start a prodject, and was thining about using the cab section, but need to know if it wil be big enough for what i plan on doing. I've tried looking at pics on brickshelf, but the pics don't giveme a clear front view. Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks gylman! If you have a a dirrect pic of it from the side, and front? Also, i couldn't find any pics of the 5th wheel hitch on brickshelf. You'd be my hero if you could produce any of those!!

    SuperMan Legos

I don't know about that.... There are jjust as many Star Trek fans out there as Star Wars. Though i would have to agree about S.T. being more about characters, and S.W. defenatly has more style. Not saying that ST, is better than SW, (i know i won't win that argument :$ ), but if LEGO did a ST line, it would be a big hit.

    Future Lego system

Keep on dreaming....you'll never see it... I'm curious, has lego said themselfs that they won't make a military line, or is everyone just asuming that since they haven't done it yet. I don't know if lego feels it would be crossing the line with violence or what (whitch i don't see that being the case). I would just like to know why not.

    Future Lego system

Military. We've been having a discusion in other threads, and i know there's a market for it. If not a theme, maybe a designer,or techinc tank, or humvee/hummer vehicle. Some jet planes with retractable landing gear would be nice too.

    What did you buy today?

On my way home from work today i get a call from my girl friend. She says she had a surprise for me,and will be at my house in 20 minutes. "Cool" I think to myself. Gives me just enough time to get home and take a shower before she gets there. Right after i get out of the shower and get dressed i hear the door bell. I answer the door and there she is :) .........holding a very large lego bag!! What was in it you ask? The 1:10 scale Ferrari Enzo!!! (8653) I guess after all those trips tothe lego store drulling over it, she caught on! :-D

    Hi, new here!

Hi! My name is Brandon, i'm 24, and am from Califorina in the United States. One of the Employees at my local lego store rec. this site to me, so herei am. A little back ground about myself. I'm 24, and have allways been into legos as long as i can remember. There probbly my biggest hobby at the moment. Though iv'e always been into legos, i stopped my building, and collecting probbly in the mid to late 90's, wheni aquired my first car. I began to modify that, and slowy forgot about my legos collecting dust under my bed, and in my closet. It wasn't till last year when my nephew asked for a lego bionicle set for his birthday that i began to remeber all the fun i used to have. Him and i started to play every time he would visit ( my niece would also get in on the fun as well), and the bug slowly caught me again. My favorite is technic, and town. (or as its now known as world city.) Thanks for looking, and look forward to meeting many of you! Brandon

    city poster

Maybe the contruction workers were on there way home from working a 12+ hour shift, and one fell asleep at the wheel. Or he was cut off by another car, and as a result got ran off the road into the dock. One of the people watching then called 911. There mystry solved. :-D

    Military

Maybe the dino line is a look into the future for lego. Maybe there also using it to see peoples reaction to having weapons in lego. I still don't see the argument of "military would be to violent" standing. Not with what they curently offer. And why can't there be any imagination in an army theme? Also, i you don't have to have it a "theme". You could have maybe a designer, or techinc tank or plane. Nothing wrong, or violent there.

    Military

I had asked a simular question in gylman thread about future techinc idea's. http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...=ST&f=19&t=3690 To me the agrument that itwould be to violent dosen't fly. Lego has plenty of other lines that would be just as violent as a military line. (Castle, Vikings, Dino Attack) Dino attack even has working cannons in there sets. Also, just cause its military/army, doesn't mean it has to be violent. Whats the harm in a tank model? Or a Humvee, Apache helocopter, base camp..you get the idea. There's defenatly a market for it.

    Keychain madness

Ahh.. Ok cool. I believe i had asked about that one a and its re-release a few weeks back. I'll just wait for one at a decent price (if thats possible). Thanks for theinfor though! Anyways, again nice build on the key chain display!

    Keychain madness

Awsome collection! I never knew lego had so many keychains. On a side note, have anymore pics of that loader on your shelf?
  19. Iv'e always heard this from everyone. What would be wrong with TLC making army vehicles? I don't see any harm in making a tank, or even a Humvee? I don't think the argument that its would be to contriversial would stand, so what gives? I think a Challenger 2 tank would be sweet, and a military Humvee, or the civilan hummer would be nice as well. I know they would have to get licensing for the hummer, but the tank could be made without a problem!!
  20. Thats a minning machine. I remember seeing that on TV on Mega Machines. Its the worlds biggest minning shovel. If i remeber correctly thats when they were moving it to another minning site over 60 miles away.
  21. Hmm..... This is a tough one. Before i give my sugjestions on new sets, looks at the current ones. Cranes, 4x4's, various construction equpiment, cars, and varouis aircraft seem to be what make up techinc. But if you look on brickshelf these seem to be some of the most popular items to moc. Cranes being on the top off the list. In my opinion techinc really seems to fit the construction theme the best, so why stop? Buti do see what your talking about. Somthing different would be welcomed. So here it goes... I'm going to cheat and offer a few differnt car, and construction idea's. One thing i'd like to see are some models of actual cars on the road today. A few examples.... 1- Ford Mustang 2-Dodge Viper 3-Chevy Corvette These might work better as model team,or designer sets, buti t worked for the Ferrari Enzo, so why not these? One thing i haven't seen offered from TLC in a long while has been a tracked bulldoser. Maybe somthing modeled after a Catapilar D10 with a ripperon the back would be cool. Though i already built a custom trailer for 8836, I think somthing that lego has been lacking latley in there techinc sets have been truck and trailer combo. Somthing like 8872 would be nice, but with a bulldoser instead of a forklift. Thats all i can think of for now. I'll think about it a bit more and see what else i can come up with. The truck its self
  22. After just seeing the new spy pics of the new techinc tow truck, i remembered seeing this a while back. Simply amazing detail. Full suspention, and funtions. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=74562

    Wow, What a Steal

:oD :oD Now thats a deal of the century! Man,, i still have the orginal lego catolog with that set in it. You know back when you used to get catologs with all the medium, to large sets. Thatsalso when lego used to make little scenes with all the sets put together. As a kid, i used to look forward to the catologs more than the new sets in them! sigh...... I still remember the Coastal Rescue Team going to rescue the mini fig that fell over board! Anyways, congrats on your find, and enjoy!

    Aircraft Carrier 1982 style

Was that really nessasary? Even using 1982 parts thats still a highly detailed moc. There's plenty good thing about that model than just the classic space figures.
