I think that this year we shouldn't expect any pirates. We may get some Islander - type sets from the Disney film Moana if we are lucky. Next year though, we might get some PotC sets, and if we are lucky those will carry into 2018. After that? I hope that at some point we get a set like the Medieval Village, either a civilian port or a merchantman. I don't expect it to be part of a big lineup though. The other thing to hope for would be a Disney re-release or remake of Treasure Island, now that Lego and Disney are busom-buddies. That would get us another wave of pirates.

I too approve. I would like to see a little more detail on the beach or behind it next time though. -

Tuben [ESL - Ch1 Cat B] Greeted by animals
The Sarge replied to Tuben's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
It's very nice! The rock work and wet sand are excellent touches. Perhaps next time, run the cliff the full length of the base or let it gently taper down. The sides seem very abrupt. -

Thanks! Thank you, I think I cropped the photo too small before I applied the effect (it creates dark edges). -

Thank you everyone! I will try to make the challenge one deadline for at least one category but no promises. -
The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
The Sarge replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Honoré Sarrazin Sarrazin is a merchant and gunsmith from a long line of craftsmen. He specialized in rifled long arms, but expanded his business to include everything from pistols to 68-pounder shore guns, and powder mills to feed them. His son, Jean-Luc, serves as a lieutenant in the Oleander Navy. Here we see him in his first permanent shop in the Old World. -
Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
The Sarge replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Question - the rules say all figures must be purist - is that meant to block just painting, decals and the like, or extend all the way to professional 3rd party accessories like blasters from BrickArms or helmets from Arealight? Edit: Not trying to argue too much over the rules, but I ask because I sold off most of my TLC blasters a while back to replace them with third-party ones. Since it's pretty much a personal preference and doesn't give me any kind of advantage for contests, I'd much rather avoid buying Lego brand blasters again. -
Here's a few: A 1L x 1W x 2H cone - like a stretched version of the small cone. A 2L x 2W x 1H cone - a cone version of the dome piece, that is used as R2 heads. More conical than the R5 head. The 1x1x1/3 round plates with holes in more sets, not just games. Bring back finger hinges... Five-wide parts. A piece like the control lever base, but without a slot and with a notch at the bottom to be able to remove it.

I suppose a new line closely based on the planets line.

http://en.bricker.ru/sets.html?family=Star+Wars&theme=Planets That's what we have so far... There are a lot I'd like to see, but I think that we are not going to see much beyond one ship per planet, or much outside the movies, unless they are great sellers. With that in mind: Coruscant - Purple Jedi Starfighter - Mace Windu Kamino - ARC-170 - Clone Pilot Geonosis - Geonosian Fighter - Geonosian Pilot Death Star II - TIE/ln - Stormtrooper Mustafar - Dk. Green Jedi Starfighter - Dark Side Ani Hoth - Snowspeeder - Rebel Soldier And perhaps some big-small ship combos: Hoth Transport - Y-wing - Rebel Pilot Tantive IV - TIE Advanced - Captain Antillies Medical Frigate - B-wing - Bacta Luke Millenium Falcon - A-wing - Han Solo Republic Cruiser - Droid Fighter - Republic Crew Invisisble Hand - Tri-fighter - Palpatine (movie version) Imperial Shuttle - TIE Bomber - Imperial Officer

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
The Sarge replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
I'd try and get 1 more mid, with 3 mids you can easily make a beautiful 2 masted brig. She's to be a one master, but later on I might try my hand at a two-masted brig or brigatine. Plus, if I do this, I can make it using the hull of a marked-down BrickBeard's Bounty. -
Use a pencil eraser to erase the face you don't want. If you want both, buy two faces and erase a different side on each one.
-
Quick question - what kind of plastic are these made of?
-
Is the plantation house still open? And becasue it is all by itself may I make fields if I have the time/parts to spare?

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
The Sarge replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Alright. As soon I get the money, this is moving up my list as I want to display mine next con I attend. I will make a black with white gunstripe ship, in the style of an American ship. It will have two midsections, and mount 8-10 24-pounders (standard Lego guns) on the gundeck and a similar number of 12-pounder customs on the upper deck. I already have a captain, three crew, and a marine, plus some cannons and basic parts left over from a house, so I am already partway there. -
This example is crewed by police, which may be why they look strange. Thanks!

A military patrol craft now operated by harbor police. I built this a while ago for a contest on Flickr. Basically, it's the harbor patrol boat. It has two modular stations that mount 40mm GMGs or .223 LMGs, and can carry a raft. Bow Shot Set

I choose what I am building beforehand, and then find reference photos. If I know I do not have the pieces, I will build it in MLCad and wait until the next time I order parts to build a physical model. I am always taking apart my sets to build something else, and occasionally I build in LDD, but the parts pallate is very limited.

A 2x2 "jumper" with a single, centered stud. Different sized masts for ships. Different sized hulls - Have the current be medium, and revive the small hulls, then add big hulls that are not Duplo - say 24 to 30 studs wide. This would be great for a Pirate line merchant ship, or a Royal Navy troopship. A smaller size of cannon with a smaller footprint. A cane. BLUECOATS!-Torsos, and maybe a small ship. Two-wide treads. 1x3 Jumper with 2 studs. A new windscreen for 6-wide cars.

Colors: Dk. Tan, Sand Green, more Dk. Red. Parts: Palm tree trunks, windshield from the Indy Boat Chase set, more minifig parts, all of the past parts they removed, and Pirate stuff. Torsos, shakos, tricorns, hulls, cannons, oars, rigging, masts, etc.
