I like it. I'll admit I'm not entirely convinced by the hands, but I'm sure that one of my old Exo-force robot's will happily "donate" his arms so that this guy can have a nice set of opposable thumbs Thanks for the great review quy

REVIEW: 7307 Flying Mummy Attack
Barricade769 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think this is going to be a must buy for me. I think that the plane is brilliant, and it'll be even better when the crystal grabbing arm "accidentally" gets left off The obelisk is a little bit of a let down seeing as how it's basically just scenery, but I think the figs more than make up for that - the flying mummies are excellent, and Jack's bomber jacket is fantastic - looks like there's more than a little bit of Harry Kane from the old Adventurers theme in him. Thanks for the great review Brickster -
Simply beautiful. The body is spot on, the engine and interior are fantastic and I love the pop-up headlights. The only thing I'd change is the antenna; it seems a little out of place on such a sleek body. Keep up the good work

You had me at halftrack I've always loved the old Adventurers theme, so this is probably going to be right up at the top of my 2011 most wanted list. I hope we get the same great temples and period vehicles that made Adventurers so great - but then again, halftrack . Halftrack halftrack halftrack

Barricade769 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in Special LEGO Themes
oh, you crazy cavemen you I wasn't really planning on buying this set, but your review might have just changed my mind Thanks for the fantastic review, Brickster! -
Nice - I like them I usually like my trucks and SUVs to be 6-wide, but these look really good . Maybe I should reevaluate the size of my other vehicles Keep up the good work Allan

Atlantis: Undersea Explorer Review
Barricade769 replied to TimToyGeek's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like it - I'm on the fence about all of this years other new Atlantis releases, but if there's one thing I'm a sucker for it's a transforming robot, as I'm sure my Transformer collection will attest Thanks for the great review, TimToyGeek! -
MOC World Racer Entrants
Barricade769 replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Awesome - I think I like these more than most of the official World Racers vehicles I concur about the weapons - over-sized cannons don't really work on racing cars. I agree that something like this would make a great competition - let's hope the Mods think so too. -

Review: 5987 Dino Research Compound
Barricade769 replied to ZO6's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Now this takes me back - I remember getting this for my birthday and playing with it for hours. Adventurers is one of my all time favourite themes and this set is a prime example of why. Thanks for the fantastic review -
World Racers Summer 2010
Barricade769 replied to The Green Brick Giant's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
These definitely look like they could be interesting - I'm getting a really strong Wacky Racers meets Mad Max vibe from 8864, and Wreckage Road looks like a good, fun set. I'll definitely be picking up some of these sets - even if it's just for the new printed helmets -
LEGO Collectible Minfigures Series 1 Poll
Barricade769 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Going to have to be the zombie for me. They're all brilliant figs, and I plan on getting them all, but I just love zombies Hopefully I'll be able to get enough zombie heads to get a fully fledged zombie apocalypse on the go - then all I'll need is a gun, a chainsaw and a big red metal door to hide behind -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Barricade769 replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh man these look awesome - and just when I thought it was going to be a quiet(ish) year I hope that you get a complete figure and not a random set of parts, but either way I'm going to make it my mission to get them all (plus extras) - I'm a sucker for this kind of collectable stuff. On the subject of accessories, I don't think that they'll all have them - I mean, what could they give the zombie? A brain? A severed limb? Tickets to the Jeremy Kyle show ? -
I love those new figures - is it just me or can anyone else see the new diving gear being perfect for a hazmat suit? Now that I've seen clearer pics of all the sets I think I can safely say that I'll be buying most of them - 8060 seems a little bit on the skeletal side, and 8059 is by far and away the weakest set in the line in my opinion, but apart from that it looks like Atlantis is set to be a pretty good theme
-
Hmm, I have to admit that based on the image we currently have this set looks pretty lackluster. I'll have to wait for some clearer images before I pass judgement though. Maybe this theme will feature two factions of humans? One group who are allied with the Atlantians and another evil group who are out to steal all the crystals or something.

Review: 8971 Aerial Defense Unit
Barricade769 replied to starstreak's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the great review - that helicopter is a monster . The base isn't much, but with a bit of work it'll make a nice little add-on to the Volcano Base. I'm definately going to have to pick one of these little beauties up to add it to my collection . -
Incredible - that has got to be the best. tank. ever! I hope that one day I'll be able to build something as good as this

What's your Favorite Licensed theme and WHY?
Barricade769 replied to legoindy01's topic in LEGO Licensed
Indiana Jones for the win! I've always loved the movies, and sets based on some of their most iconic scenes were always going to go down a hit with me. -
REVIEW: Indiana Jones 7197 - Venice Canal Chase
Barricade769 replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the great review svelte-corps. I was initially a little bit sceptical of the play features, but now I'm definately gonna pick one up. -
I got the Lego Island game for the PC. Could be worse, but I was hoping for an actual set

I'm loving the new garage and tow truck The temple of doom looks awesome too, although I agree that they should have used the old scimitar instead of the skeleton cleaver/scythe piece. -
If you could revive any one dead theme...
Barricade769 replied to Darth Legolas's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree with the Ninja vibe going around in this thread, but personally for me it would have to be Adventurers - I loved everything about those sets and if Lego brought it back I'd pretty much bite their hands off to get hold of them Of course, that ain't gonna happen while they have the Indianna Jones liscence. Don't get me wrong - Indy is great too, but he's no Johnny Thunder -
Thanks for the warm welcome guys
