Mystery on the Excelsior - Discussion
Tariq j replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hello! Dr Charlie Seymour here. B.S. PhD, MA, ScD. But call me Charlie. I’m the zoologist and I’ve come to study all the local fauna on the planet. Animals?! Where? I love animals. I have a tiger named Colin. Or at least that’s what I call him. I’ll be interested to see if there are any autotrophs or heterotrophs on the local planet I am going to visit. We found some nectivorous organisms on my last trip. *opens brief a case and pulls out petri dishes* Have a look yourself. On the subject of breakfast could I get some eggs and bread as well please? -

Now THIS is what I call an Ultimate Collectors/Play Set. That looks excellent. We've got the main build plus some awesome side builds. I'm guessing the Cantina will fold out so you can get better access to the interior. -

Mystery on the Excelsior - Sign Ups!

I've always wanted to try one of these. Count me in too! -
I think that would work. The WWW has some artwork on the side of it so it would still look good on display.

I can't seem to find any. Which is a shame cause it's a fantastic shot of the set. I feel like I've really grown towards the set having seen the reviews.

[Factions Ep. 6 - Cat A][L13 - Fondor - TT] Old Sins

Really excellent work . The rock formation is great and I love the small details like the chemicals oozing out of the wall and the detailing on the tower. -
[Factions Ep. 6 - Cat A] [L13 - Fondor - TT] Back at it again

It felt odd to be back on a mission after so long. After having completed his interviews for the murder on Ota and the case solved it was time for his next mission. The Planet: Fondor, the location: Factories. A remote factory had been located and Tariq and his squadron had been tasked to check it out. Seek out Pyerce and his men. There was something reassuring about being accompanied by 3 Death Troopers. He himself had signed up to train as a Deathtrooper years ago but did not meet the height requirements. We reached the compound and Pyerce's men were already inside. I would've really liked to do more for this contest but I had lots of stuff going on in RL. Still very happy with the final result though. -
The buildings looks so good when they’re displayed opposite one another. It’s a shame that feature wasn’t shown off more on the box. I think QQS could have used some textured bricks for the exterior of the second floor.

Thanks! I think I’ve watched way too much Rebels and Clone Wars over lockdown That’s a possibility. They did it as well in the LEGO Clone Wars game which includes the Battle of Geonosis as a prequel level and in the FA game which includes the Battle of Endor. (Space Battle and Land). It would be cool if they did the Battle of Scariff. -

That looks brilliant. I love that gag at the end with the lightning force pieces. I think Sam Witwer is voicing Palpatine. -
Beautiful work . The lighting works so well here.

Unpopular Opinions related to Lego Star Wars
Tariq j replied to TheAbsoluteSt81's topic in LEGO Star Wars
- Not sure whether this unpopular but I loved the Planets line. I would have loved to see it continue and was gutted when they cancelled it and I’m not a huge fan of the microfighters. I don’t think they’re bad but they’re just not my thing. - I sort of miss when we got waves where the sets complimented one another. Like in late 2013 when we got all those Episode II sets or in early 2014 when we got all those Episode III sets. Currently we have an AT-AT but no Snowspeeder to go with it. We have Anakin’s Jedi Starfighter but no Vulture Droid to chase it. Granted we may get some of these sets next year so I may be speaking too soon. I agree. I love the 501st set but the attitude around it was a shame.- 127 replies

There’s some good details in the clear pics. I’ll be the umpteenth person to say I also love that new wand box piece! A very minor nitpick but it would’ve been neat if the Daily Prophet had come with some different headlines rather than the same “Boy Who Lived” print from last year.

I also can’t wait for the Mos Eisley Cantina. I’m sort of positively cautious though. Hopefully it will be one singular build rather than several medium ones. Also holding out for a Garindan figure -
I agree. One of my biggest hopes of this set was that it would be easy to connect to the other modular buildings and it look like you can. Some other observations: Looks like they’ve included the entrance to Knockturn Alley - a sign of more things to come maybe? I’m hoping someone will come up with a way to motorise the arm on WWW so it goes up and down by itself.

Looking a little more at the pictures I feel like they could have extended the pavement a little more but otherwise it’s pretty good.

I think it looks excellent lots of great details there.
