  1. Hello!

You don't sound too enthusiastic here either. It sounds like you didn't care which is sad. It's such a nice greebly-rich creation which deserves a little description. You should try to win the community for your creation. :classic:

Come on, give it a try. :classic: Tell us what you built, what inspired you to build it, what problems did you have to solve, what building tricks does it feature, where does its interesting name come from, etc. That's what we want to know. Awake our interest! :sweet:

    All the best,

    ~ Christopher

    Thanks,

I know that people sometimes want a description etc. but I like it this way ... without a huge description; I believe the interest should be awakend from the build itself, not from the description ;)

    Thanks anyway,

    Cheers Marnicq

  2. Very creative. Sans the big engine it reminds me of the old mercury zephyr station wagon my parents had when i was a kid.

I can practically hear a mother screaming "Don't make me come back there!" throughout the void of space.

    Haha : D

Thanks, and yeah I didn't want to make a really futuristic car, but one looking rather like a typical old family car. (:

  3. It has a lot of parts that sort of stick out or look kind of tacked on. I get that impression mostly because of the yellow and light gray colors. I would try to streamline the car to incorporate those parts in closer to the main body. Perhaps an eight wide body with a six wide top would look great. I would also attach the main engine with a more sturdy connection. I guess I would look to make this more family sized and to tuck all the flying parts in closer to or into the main body of the vehicle.

The things I like are the multiple engine points to allow verticle, horizontal, and forward thrust. The shaping and design of the car makes it look sturdy and like a family vehicle rather than the sports car style many people go for. I like the tan/yellow/gray color scheme and the cool shapes you are getting with some of those parts.

I would also think adding lights and some sort of landing gear/wheels would be a must as it is dark in space and whether the family is going to a tropical alien beach or an intergalactic truck stop, they will likely need to land at some point.

I look forward to seeing what changes you can come up with.

The front of the car is already around 8 studs wide because of the plates that have been added on both sides (:

The car wasn't meant too look sportsy but rather family-car like or like a Lada http://judey.dasmirnov.net/lada.jpg

Yeah I know the big engine is really badly connected ... I need to find something to that. (:

At the bottom of the car are like these engine like things allowing the vehicle to hover , maybe magnets I don't know, it's meant to be futuristic so It wouldn't have to land : D haha

Anyway thanks for the criticism I'll see what I can change about it (:

  4. Thats the smallest ship I've ever seen with that much detail. The red and black makes it almost sinister, ominous, and overall...awesome! :classic:

Thanks, yeah I wanted them to look 'sinister' (:

Very nice, I very much like them both, like little bad guys. The red is a nice touch, and I find them to be very detailed.

Thanks, I don't find them all that detailed to be honest ..

  5. It might be a stupid question, but I want to print decals on special paper ... but I don't know which any advices, I want it to come out really smooth, like a plastic-like feel(like lego) and preferably transparant

And when I'm printing on that kind of paper whatever it might be ... what settings do I have to use ...

(I have Epson Stylus Photo 1400, that's quite much of a decent printer)

If someone might be able to answer these questions, that'd be nice ..

  6. I like them. They look very otherworldly.

Thanks, yeah they should look really futuristic (:

I have never really liked fighters like these, but the amount of detail you have in them is quite awesome, so kudos to that.

And I must say your pictures are very clear.

Thanks, I've put some work in the details, altho I didn't feel that they were detailed all that much

Those are very nice, I like them, the color sceme is cool.

Thanks, yeah I kinda like this colour scheme as well (:

  7. I like it!

It has an unnatural shape and the flex tube with those clips lokes awsome!

Thanks, is the unnatural shape a bad thing or a good thing? (:

Awesome, incredible amount of detail you put into something that small. Good work!

Thanks, I found them a little bit undetailed to be honest ... (:

I really like the top of the left one, and the bottom of the right one.

If you combined those to make one fierce compact starfighter, it would be awesome! :D

Thanks, yeah I thought of that as well as I feel the same about it ... but I do like having two K-fighters (as that's the name i gave them) (:

  8. For a first MOC this is really nice and creative.

Whilst I am not really a fan of red highlights on a grey castle, this works quite well. The Imperial guards look like monks of a secretive order floating on a misty lake hidden from normal folk. Well done on a creative tower too, the curving part is still not quite doing it for me, but the detailing on the rest of the tower looks great. Nice work on the alligator too.

Thanks, glad you made up a little bit of your own background history on this. (:

The curved bit of the tower actually was the thing that started me building (haha) the rest is all built around it.

It kinda started out with some tablescrap trying to make some curves. (:

  9. I figured it was something like that. Well it (the lean) really grabs your attention and kinda of gives a distortion effect to the overall appearance. Pretty neat. Good idea to use that hinge I couldn't quite make it out in any of the photos so thanks it was bugging me not knowing. :pir-wink:

You're welcome. I found that it gave a quite nice effect, especially since the bow is a little bit inwards, so the hinge plates won't be sticking out all that much anymore as I seemed to have found a problem in some of my tablescraps. (:

  10. It's got a real trippy kind of feel to it. I like it. It is very interesting to look at. Two questions: Why does the top lean and what did you use as the decoration above the main archwat at the bottom. Very nice MOC.

The top leans forward to give it more of a fantasy feel, and it first was meant to be ministry building (still fantasy-like) symbolising "we're watching over you" I cancelled that idea tho...

The arch is decorated with hinge pieces like: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=44302

  11. Wow, that's really great! I like all the strange fantasy stuff going on there. And you've used many great techniques in it as well, which makes it even more interesting to look that. So well done!

However, I seriously doubt this is the first thing you've ever built with LEGO. Maybe you meant this is the first MOC you've shown us here?

I've obviously been building before, but only tablescraps and unfinished works this is my first completed MOC ever. (:

    Thank you!

    Here's my first MOC ever:

    3703676523_4c0ffa00d7.jpg

    I hope you like it...

It's meant to be a trading post in the middle of a sea/lake, I'm not gonna make up the rest of a background story, make up your own, use your fantasy. (:

(It's also meant to be fantasy-like so I'm wondering whether it's posted correctly in the historical section)

More to be found here (flickr): http://www.flickr.com/photos/37973179@N07/

Thanks for watching + I do accept criticism, I like to improve myself.

  13. Hehe, you couldn't even resize pictures back then :pir_laugh2:

    Me too!

    1. Nope, you create a seperate thread for your entry, which will then be linked to when voting begins. This allows for the Creative Critics to do their stuff.

    2. Yes

Or you could post it as soon as you're done, get some Creative Criticism, and improve it, before posting the final thing the day before your b-day! :pir-tongue: But you can do as you wish :pir-wink:

Sure are! But Ironclads e.t.c. are just about the latest permisable period entries, as otherwise it goes down the Victorian route too much (e.g Titanic).

So the titanic is allowed? or not?
