    MOC: Tow truck Volkswagen Crafter

Very nice design. The cab work very well, especially the inclined bonnet, and the rear had incorporated interesting mechanism and worked like the real thing. I believed this may be the first Crafter in lego (in minifig scale) I see on the web, it is excellent to see new vehicle is made from lego. (I always want to make a crafter too!) My only suggestion would be the wheelbase of the vehicle, from your photos, I think it is approximately 16 stud (front wheel centre to rear wheel centre), I would suggest take 1 or 2 stud away by moving the rear forward a bit, without modifing the platform, as it is common for the platform to overhang. The reason is that when I did my long wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter, I found 14 stud wheelbase seems a good minfig ratio. For short wheelbase Sprinter/ Crafter, I found 12 stud work well. Thanks for sharing your work
  2. Greeting. Metropolitan Police, Public Order Van. Mercedes Sprinter. by PUCI2, 於 Flickr This is a model of public order van of the Territorial Support Group of the Metropolitan Police Service in UK, it is a Mercedes-Benz Sprtiner. I see most police forces used standard van (i.e. constant width), but this tailored made box caught my attention, as this type of design is usually used on ambulance, not police vehicle. I still see this van in service in August 2016 when I was visiting London briefly. The van is a 6-wide cab with a 7-wide box. It can carry up to 6 persons comfortably, and is fitted with a sliding door that is made purely on plate, tile and bricks, I did not use Technic parts for the sliding door as they tend to break easily. 20161119_164921 by PUCI2, 於 Flickr20161119_164150 by PUCI2, 於 Flickr 20161119_164222 by PUCI2, 於 Flickr 20161119_164645 by PUCI2, 於 Flickr British livery 2016-11-19_10-48-52 by PUCI2, 於 Flickr 20161119_165935 by PUCI2, 於 Flickr The white van is based on the Bath Police (Avon and Somerset Constabulary) which was posted on EB 2 years ago. It had gone several major changes. I have not used any sticker in most of my projects, as I am not good at designing or applying stickers. Recapturing the livery using lego bricks therefore makes it more challenging and fun. I am pleased with these 2 MOC. For more, please visit my flickr. https://flic.kr/s/aHskGzcJzY
  3. Greeting, I am very happy to share my recent modification on the 2014 police series of Prisoner Transporter. Background I am usually a fan of Medium size Lego Police vehicle, e.g. 7033 in 2003, 7245 in 2005 , 7286 in 2011. In 2013, I was originally excited to hear from EB forum that a medium size prisoner transporter van would be coming in the 1st wave of 2014, but when I saw the pictures of 60043 Prisoner Transporter, I decided to give it a skip as the outlook of the set wasnt appealing to me (No flashing light bar, not too colourful). Besides, in 2014, we saw a great fleet of city vehicles rolling, hence it gave me further reasons for not picking this set up. It wasnt until late November 2014 I had a change of heart, after looking at the sets of 2015, both the swamp police and great vehicles, I found a lot of 2015 sets are bulky and related to water, which are not really my cup of tea. Therefore I decided to re-consider 60043, as I began to see a lot of MOD-ability in this set. I also went on the internet to see pictures of this set, and how did the others view the set. The more I looked to the set, the more I liked it, and I made the purchase in retails, though making modification on this set was always on my mind. After building according to the instructions, in some ways, I was slightly disappointed about the proportion of the van, as I considered it too short, but then, because I was prepared to be disappointed, I immediately know only by MODding this set would this set feel completed. With a few hours of MODding, I now present you the upgraded Armor Van. Armor Van / Mod Prisoner Transporter The actual modification was actually quite straight forward, what you see what you get, the MOD is 1 brick higher than original. I decide to maximise the use of flashing light, partial arrow-lightbar at the roof, and the 4 no. of grill/forward light I have yet to form ideas to develop the interior nor replace the funny door at the back, thought I am confident I will come up of a few ideas later, it is currently same as the original. The new Amour Van shares the same colour scheme (battenburg) as my previous Police Van. I want to keep the scale (minifig to vehicle) similar to the Sprinter Van similar for display purpose. Scale On the topic of scale, I found this scale keep the realism while maintaining the feeling of Lego blocks. Over the course of 2014, I made a few MOD to suite this scale, as follows: Thank you for your attention.

UK Police Van, City of Bath

Greeting!! It gives me great pleasure to present my MOC in EB today. Background This MOC is largely based on the Police Van in Bath, UK. The reason I am choosing Bath was because I spent 4 of my wonderful years in University of Bath as a student, and I really wanted to make something that remind me about the city (I am currently living in the Far East). I used to catch the bus (Bright Orange!) every morning and I saw this van parked outside the Police Station; and the outlook of this van really caught my attention, the black riot shield, blue-yellow battenburg marking, massive headlight.... etc. I wanted to make a post-2008 Mercedes Sprinter but I found it really difficult to re-create the streamline look with Lego, so the idea was dropped. Recently, I saw a lot of combi vans (half of the vehicle is carrying passengers, half of the van is carrying cargo) rolling around in the streets, and the whole idea was re-ignited again. This time, I did some research on Google about "Lego Sprinter" and it revealed great models from other MOCers, one of those MOC strike me the most was a MOC made by Joel Buchholz on MOCpages.com. It really caught the outline of a Sprinter, and the idea and my Police Van was developed from there. Credits must go to Mr. Joel Buchholz for his design. The Police Van Although the model resembles the Mr. Joel Buchholz's own van, I added in a few details to make it differ, which are as follows:- Extended Body to resemble the real Bath Police Van High-vis Back Outward opening doors at the rear All grey bumper with foglight Front grille with blue light next to the indicator Easy fitting roof Here are more photos. The side door open upward easily. The whole van carrying 3 policemen and can fit 2 crooks at the back (tight fit!!) Of course, a UK Police Van would not be a UK Police Van if it is missing the riot shield, here is my attempt. I would like to conclude my post by comparing the 4431 Ambulance, my 1st generation of Sprinter and the UK Police Van. I am still fine tuning on the police accessories. Whats better than 1 Sprinter Van ?? 2 Sprinter Vans of course!! (I am still working on the 2nd van) Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoy it.

MOC: Another Bus (with a bit of SNOT)

very nice and interesting way to use those roof pieces the yellow lego truck is too long and has taken so much space when displaying. with your techniques , i can now shorten the lego truck to make pieces available for bus modification

    MOC: New Firestation

Very interesting MOC the 2 big engnes are very nice, even tho it is a 4wide vehicle, it does look like a 6 wide somehow I think it is the way you photograph it The fire station is very simple yet it has great effect

    MOC: Hong Kong Police Van

Thanks, sliding door can indeed be a problem, I have design several. The easiest way is to use the black hinge, but be aware they are very weak, i have lost several due to this mechanism, so I would personally move to a more mechanical approach If you need som idea, I hope this can help Flickr Sliding door, the black vehicle has sliding doors on both sides Thank you, the sliding door did take some time. With regard to your 6 wide comment, I partially agree, but because this is based on a mini van, 5 wide would be more appropiate Speaking of 6 wide, I had another HK police van out of 6 wide (which was built even earlier, IIRC 2008 Aug) This model is based on Mercedes-Benz Vario (or trooper they call) Thank you, your creation has both inspiried and improve my constructing skills. The version you saw several months earlier was the 1st version, it was very much based on your model. The current version has shorter wheelbase and more room inside The front wind shield was definitely the hardest part, it was very much try and improvement. Initially it was very unstable, the windshield could easily come off, but now it is very secured, even when i shake the vehicle, the windshield wont come off. Thank you, to be honest, I didnt expect the sliding door would be noticed at all, so thank you Speaking of 6 wide van, how about this one ?

    MOC: Hong Kong Police Van

Hi everyone, it seems everyone is making 5 wide vehicle these days, and here is my attempt. I like lego police car a lot, not in a sense that the original Lego one, but I do enjoying modifing or creating a police vehicle The model was based on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, currently still use by Hong Kong Police thought they should retire in a couple of years. I am sure many of you will come across this van as well, becuase it is very common in Europe. Due to the 5 wide body, only one sliding door can be constructed. HK is right-hand drive, (just like UK), I put the door on the left, so when the policemen leave the van, they should be on the pavement already Back There is a locker for storage The hardest bit would be the front wind shield, because the sloped-like front cannot be done with conventional lego, so I did a bit of thinking outside the box...... I post this van on another forum several months ago, not everyone like it. Personally I really like the effect of the front wind shield. For more Pictures, please visit my Flickr I hope you like it too, comment and critisms are welcomed oh, did i forget to say this idea was inspiried by Ralph_S ??

MOC: City Corner Bus, UK style and variations...

I also make my vehicles right hand drive whenever possible I have this yellow bus, but currently unopen, hopefully can construct this soon I like your quote "It looks much better visually with the two seats across the back although two minifigs cannot actually sit properly side by side without bumping elbows and grumbling a lot (i.e. exactly the same as real buses in the UK!!!)" The worst is you are on a full bus, sitting at the back, most right hand side sit, and you are getting off next stop......

    MOC: Renault Magnum at dockside

I really like this design The truck is simply built yet it as great effect I am going to reference this next time I am building a truck

    MOC: Wellside Pickup Trucks

Nice Truck, I really like the way you have built a gap between the end wheel and the main body, that must take some effot............

    MOC: Third fire brigade

Really nice vehicles, I think a lot have been said with regard to big wheel, and I am not going to stress any more on that Both jeeps look nice, I think i will reference these if not copy them ;) The unit 3 really caught my attention. How did paint the "3" on the roof ?? The thing I impress the most is how you store the ladder, great mechanism. I would have just stick it on the roof if it was up to me, it really is a clever mechanism Unit 4 is equally well built, is nice to see people are making Hydraulic platform. Judging by the amount of Technic pieces you have up there, I presume this will be a very strong hydraulic platform, I would suggest to make a bigger platform for 2 or more firemen The only thing I was disappointed with unit 5 is the lack of lightbar, it may be obvious it is an fire engine, but just a bit without warning light/flashing light Look forward to your future MOC

    MOC: CHP Vehicle

Nice vehicle, I always like Police vehicle MOC. However, I wuold personally shorten the wheelbase, because the body seems to big,
