  1. OK thanks, that explains it!
  2. Any idea why this set isn't available at Shop@Home for the US site anymore?

    MOC: The LKAB IORE

Nice job. The sideways cheese slopes are interesting. Seeing the two engineers (maybe one is a conductor?) side by side is very convincing for going 8 Wide for my first train MOC.

How do you add to your train collection?

Just got my second train a few weeks ago (Maersk) from ebay after watching it come and go from the Lego store because I had no interest way back when. LOL The first was 60052 that sat in the box until I needed the PF for the Maersk. Just got 60051 a couple days ago and having a lot of fun with it. Want to build my own but will probably cough up the extra dinero to get 7938. That brick built front is sweet. The sets are great way to get started and you can decide what you want or don't want from there, and use the extra parts for MOCs or MODs.

    Flexible tracks

I'm new to Lego trains as well but have many years as N Scale model railroader so I got quite a surprise when I saw Lego flex track for the first time as it looks nothing like the standard rail--A piece here or there is all I care to use....a couple pieces of flex in reversing loops on occasion. It does look okay for simulating a track on a short bridge or something or even to add a bit of irregularity to the regular pattern of standard track, but i would not replacing standard straight rail with it.

Where to buy Straight PF Rail?

Was just on the ME Models site prior to catching up here--a wider radius curve would be terrific.

Where to buy Straight PF Rail?

Thanks for the idea. I've been thinking about joining my local group near Washington DC....

Where to buy Straight PF Rail?

Thanks very much for the link! I'm not sure why I was only getting the 9V stuff when I searched. You have restored my faith in Bricklink...and squashed my faith in my own search skills. LOL!

Where to buy Straight PF Rail?

Can straight rail from current train sets be purchased from Pick A Brick? I searched for element id #6070018 but nothing turned up and Bricklink only seems to have 9V rail. I dislike the flex track stuff or the metal rails. Thanks for any help.
  10. I found this site for all kinds of Volvo equipment; it may be of use for someone's MOC or MOD....or desktop wallpaper : http://www.volvogrou...ge_gallery.aspx Cheers

    Lego in Barcelona

Before I left the US I found a store on Bricklink in Catalonia, turns out it's the same guy! Rickebrick is great but his store in Bricklink is even better. I'm all set now for when I need really specific stuff.

    Lego in Barcelona

Thanks for the contribution to the thread. I've checked out Palau once before (muy cara), I was trying to remember the name; I liked that shop besides the Lego stuff. I may visit Diagonal Mar this afternoon just to have a look around. For some reason I'm in the mood for Space Police. I hope they have some. After spending a week in the hospital I want to to treat myself!

The Best Spaceship Released By LEGO

Galactic Mediator and Galactic Enforcer are both at the top of my list. Something about their respective shapes really appeals.

    Lego in Barcelona

The maps link didn't work. There is a Toys R Us I will check out in the coming days, I just wanted to hit more local spots first. I went to a couple shops today but the best had to be El Corte Ingles in Placa Catalunya (center of the city and ground zero for tourists). There was a good selection of themes: Star Wars (the most), Creator, City, Atlantis, Ben 10, Toy Story, Technic but NO Space Police <GGrrrr>. I think the prices were a bit high for some things (€16 for SW BP) and okay for others (€10 for Atlantis 8057). The prices might be a few euros less at more local toy/hobby shops but the selection won't be that great. If you are walking around the Eixample neighborhood (basically downtown) and you see any kind of hobby shop, have a look they most likely have some lego sets also. This has got to be one of the coolest shops in town and it's in my neighborhood!: Robótica They sell mostly Mindstorms and Power Functions parts.

    Lego in Barcelona

I did some research into the pricing but I'm not so sure how it compares with the store. Maybe I will just buy something small as a test case. I did find an online lego shop today that looks pretty good--the closest thing to shop@home I've seen. I'm off to a local toy store to do some "research".
