  1. This is not my photo, but... When I bought my model (second hand), it had the black box (but a bit damaged).
  2. With Cad Bane and the new Quinlan and Eeth, we can now play cow boys and indians.
  3. It is also possible to do it with an "old" diff (in set 8421 for example ; well, not so old actually) in the middle of the turntable. This way, it is also possible to include a gear down or a gear up (depending on how the diff is used).
  4. Yeah, I would say that 3/4 (maybe even more) of the 1x16 technic bricks can not be seen from outside.
  5. No. Most of new parts (the yellow panels, among others) that are very rare on BL (and so very expensive) cost bugger all with Lego Direct. What you must do is just buying the right part at the right place.

    Creaky Bricks

Worse : when I do MOCs, I use that part quite often cause it is damn useful : But it is also VERY weak/brittle. I'm very careful when I manipulate my parts, but I've already broken many of them. Does anyone else ever experienced such a problem with this part ?
  7. Very well seen Zblj ! I just changed that part on my model. I'm sure it will work better now. I wonder how a designer can make such a mistake. O_o (cause yes, it is definitely a mistake).
  8. 1. Not possible, as far as I know. 2. Buy everything in Light bluish gray, excepted the "old" hinges. If you don't want to use these old hinges, use a wheel to do the engines (as I did).
  9. But as far I can see, I didn't post in that thread, did I ? I am always pleased to see that some people notice that I try to do my best for my models to look good (at least to be well designed) both outside and inside. That's something important to me in the design process. But very detailled model outside and well optimised inside requires a lot of time. It is regrettable that this huge Millenium Falcon is not better than 10179 in term of design and detail. But I think that this is fully understandable : the goal of a model which will be displayed in a Legoland is not the same of a model which will be produced and sold in thousands of copies. :) That said, it is true that the Snowspeeder looks very weird. I think that it may be quite easy to achieve a better model, without spending hours and hours. As for a T-47, I'm quite satisfied with my 10129. :)
  10. Actually, it seems logical to me to first show the design process and then show the finished model. :) I do not like big tiled surfaces. :) Otherwise, yes, the ISD is to scale with the Executor. It would have been too bad to spend hours and hours designing the "main" model (Executor) and then doing a huge mistake on the design of the easiest part of the MOC (ISD). ^^ Thank you.
  11. +1 Buying toys to keep them MISB ? What for ? To make money ? Actually, the question you must answer is : "What do I prefer : money or Lego ?" Hope you know the right answer. :p
  12. Making the wing fit with the structure was okay. Making the wings fit with the greebs plateau was a bit harder. Cause the angle of the plateau is not the same as the angle of the structure, since the wings are not horizontal (dunno if you see what I mean). But building a very strong structure with perfect angles everywhere is definitely the hardest part of the MOC. I spent half of the time of the design process to achieve this structure. It is also necessary to find the right angles for the structure of the tail. Greebs take much time too. But it is not as hard if you know how do you want them to look like.
  13. I had a lot of fun when I read that message from TLG. Whatever the pic I may get, I will share it as soon as possible, every where I can (EB and some other forums and websites). And I really do not care if TLG do not like this. The whole AFOL community do a GREAT promotion for the Lego brand throughout the world (with websites, events, MOCs, etc). So, TLG, just do not annoy us with some pics which are released a little earlier than what you expected !!

Pete, it looks great ! You use a very good mix between plates, tiles and slopes. Well, I would really appreciate to see how the model is built inside (structure). Cause I think it is the hardest part to build.
  15. This 8070 seems to be very similar to 8297 : very interesting design inside, with many gears, complex mechanisms, etc. But unfortunately, it also looks boring to play with. :/ Thank you for the video though. And even if this model won't be my favourite set, I'm a bit impatient to get it (just like every new set actually ).
  16. Yeah, that's exactly what I meant.
  17. Honnestly, smaller ships (official sets or MOCs) are much more accurate and detailed. :/
  18. The noze of 8461 is also a bit different from 8458. Personally, I think that 8674 is much more realistic. Its suspensions are also a little bit more efficient (especially on the front axle). The steering is better too. And with the stickers, it is totally awesome !

    UCS NU-class Republic Attack Shuttle

No, it is about 70 cm long (if you're talking about the model I'm thinking to). So, it not to scale with my Venator.

It is French but... I don't understand ! What do you mean ? Which MOC ?

    UCS NU-class Republic Attack Shuttle

Only 20 ? Yeah, now I'm sure that it would have taken me more time than you. I'm very slow at MOCing. Same for me. :)

Wow... you build it very quickly. I'm impressed. I would have need one month to do that. @_*
  23. Yeah, you're right. I misunderstood what you wrote.
