What do you do with your Legos?

All the creations in my table town are just displayed based on theme, I have an area for Town, space, and castle. The reason I say "creations" and not sets is because none of the buildings in my town are purely from Lego (with a few exceptions like vehicles and other small things). Either I have modded all of them in some way or their MOCs of mine. Specifically in Town I have a section for modulars and normal buildings (no back but all are "modular" because I have them hooked up like modular buildings). And I still buy lots of sets it's just I usually change and improve them. Also I tend to honor my favorite sets by giving them a bit of my own touch Favorite Buildings I've modded: Green Grocer (Changed the 2nd floor into a dentists, and made the third a full on apartment for my sigfig with a couch bed and flatscreen) Cafe Corner (Made an interior with cofeemaker, blender and fruits, cup shelf, tables and stools, and a counter oh and I changed the cup in the front to chrome mmmm!) City Corner (made the whole building bigger, changed into my normal town's modular standard, added LOTS more tables and chairs for the second floor, added a bed and dresser on the third) Agents mobile command center (Changed into a building instead of a truck, made into modular standard of my own town) Castle (Changed into a kind of great wall of china style (much smaller obviously ) and added little bits of interior inside) And for your specific question, my favorite mod of all! I changed the winter shop into modular building standard (much bigger!) which allowed me to add lots more toys on the inside and for the second floor I made it into a candy store! (You can imagine my disappointment that the Grand emporium's 3rd floor is a candy store as well! But I suppose that's another thing to mod about that building ) The outside kinda looks like a gingerbread house on the 2nd floor but that fits in with the "candy" theme! I swapped the white for gray on the roof (Which I loved about the original set so I saved it) so it isn't limited to winter either! It's one floor shorter than all my other modulars but I think the shortness and V shaped roof give a little bit of variety to the street (which also happens to include Fang my vampire club, A Bakery, a zoo, and of course my family's manor ) It looks BEAUTIFUL next to green grocer and the others!!! Edit: Oh and bye the way I have a whole basement to devote to my lego town so it's gotten pretty big!

Do you like studs hidden or showing?

Just like pretty much everyone else I like a mix of both but if I had to choose I'd say studded, I'm constantly setting minifigs up in various places and I like when I have a stable place to put them. For example the modular series (though beautiful) just annoys me whenever I'm trying to display it. If anyone bumps the table a little minifigure earthquake occurs usually making an awful domino effect
  3. This is great! thanks for posting these we've seen some of the videos about lego production, but at least I haven't seen any this recent! Thanks a lot!!! This is really cool

    the evoultion of lego city

hmm... I don't really think I can honestly agree with one side of the argument, although classic town had some great buildings, and more of a variety of them they just didn't have that interesting aspect that city has now. But at the same time in City all we get are fire stations and hospitals and not as many good civilian buildings. I think all I can say is that they both have their fair share of pros and cons

    MOC: Mario Kart

Wow! That looks great Just like the real thing! I like the way you did those black and white stripes on the side It would be really cool if you could make some more for different characters, maybe Boo? He's my favorite

    Atlantis 2010

Just watched the Atlantis tv special it was pretty funny! And really nice to see lego doing such great animation, I really hope they do more stuff like this in the future! An unfortunately common thing was difference in lego elements it bugged me , for example the gateway of the squid made an appearance and the gates were huge! the rings were a lot smaller too, and the diver suits allowed the figures to have hair I wish that was true!!! and the portal of Atlantis also made an appearance! I imagine if we weren't all aware of the set we'd all be saying "I wish they'd make THAT a set!!!" The shark statues are apparently last resort guardians, in the movie they come to life after the portal begins to be activated and defend the portal. Unfortunately they new figure didn't appear but all the other creatures did! It was pretty interesting but I wish it was a bit longer, it seemed like their whole major adventure was packed into 30 minutes Another problem was it's ending came as a big finale almost, they find the city of atlantis and there are newspaper articles about it (Including one saying AFOL news!!!) which made it seem like this is a 1 year theme but I'm sure they did this to give some closure to the kiddies, well at least I hope so! The atlantian buildings were big pyramids and heaps of gold and now I'm REALLY looking forward to next year!!!

    Modular Building 10211 Grand Emporium

I'm in love Although I like Svelte's better It's still a very nice set with lot's of amazing details!!! I just love it! although I agree that the interior on the two top floors might be a little bland (We'll never know till more pictures!) I think it'll be a lot of fun to design our own and look at each others interiors as well Now I love speculating but let's not be counting our chickens before they hatch and magically transform into the next CC building I mean I think it's a little bit soon for everyone to be thinking about a post office (Though believe me I'd LOVE one!) I mean there are a lot of things to be taken as clues in this set, and that's just on the outside! We haven't even seen how many "clues" there could be on the inside! And if this mailbox is taken as a clue so quickly this time shouldn't we have gotten one right now? I mean Green Grocer had 4 mailboxes! Don't get me wrong I definitely believe that these clues are placed, but I also think that the designers are pretty good at hiding them by putting lots of possible clues in the set to keep us all guessing. I mean we COULD get an ice cream shop, a toy shop, or maybe even a business for window cleaners just like Fred Of course it could still be a post office just wanna make sure we all keep our minds open

    Atlantis 2010

I love the gateway of the squid! and it keeps on getting better I can't wait to buy it and I love that new figure!
  9. Hmm I'd have to say the whole new castle Kingdoms line just doesn't impress me much People have complimented it for returning to the "classic" castle style but...I'm really not that impressed with the classic castle look but hey I'm probably just being stupid and judging a theme before we even had good non confidential pictures I just liked the fantasy era a lot better

    Vignette: Like Spinning Plates

I'm pretty sure there's a little sphere at the top of the antennas that fits just right

Two classic scenes from Indiana Jones.

Nice little scenes As soon as I clicked on the pages all I saw was Marcus so it got me interested Although I agree that maybe the setting isn't the greatest I think that the focus is more on the minifigures and what they're doing Nice job using the crown as a blood spatter too!

    Review: 7594 Woody's Round Up

Nice review! I just want to say that I'm sick and tired of people bashing toy story though I mean if you think the figs are that bad just don't use them If the sets are that bad just don't buy them! I like the toy story sets and even if the Afol community isn't too happy with them, they weren't designed for us, where they? They're meant for kids who like the movies, and honestly I think these sets will be pretty big money makers for TLC. So in my book at least these are a good choice

    REVIEW: 7078 King's Battle Chariot

I must say it's a pretty nice set, I just think it's the price that turns me off Also I would have much rather had a battle wagon with two wheels, I think it's just a bit unbalanced looking.

    REVIEW: 6376 Breezeway Cafe

What a nice little cafe pretty un-detailed comparing this to a current corner cafe but it's the lack of details that makes it classic Great review nonetheless! I like how you included those minifigs building the set as well!

    MOC: Popcorn Shop

Wow! It looks quite a bit like it's real life counterpart Though it looks pretty hard to squeeze into the real life one I'd get claustrophobic
