Great job Darth Lion! Not much of a micro-/mini-scaled vig fan here but yours really caught my attention and I must say you really did an impressive job. That X-Wing is really cute!
-
As always, great architecture on the Naboo structure AC! I also love your version of the Gian speeder, much much better than the official set. Good luck on the contest!

Immolation- the end of Anakin Skywalker
XimenaPaulina replied to Fat Tony's topic in Watto's Junkyard
WOW! Excellent work my friend! You really captured the 'volcanic atmosphere' in your vig, gotta love those orange and trans-orange peices for the lava effect. Just curious, did you use Photoshop for the 'glowing effect' of the lava? Really great job on the 'post-production'. -
Eurobricks/Classic-Town.net Collectible LEGO Minifigs Series 1 Contest

A lot of good entries, but here are my not-so-east-to-decide votes: 1 point for the Caveman entry by lisgr - the 'icey' effects are stunning! 1 point for the Zombie entry by Delatron - funny and great build at the same time. 1 point for the Clown entry by Redcross - gotta love the details for such a small build. Good luck to all the entries! -
Thanks for the review KimT! It's interesting to see this review as I just received my Aayla Secura parts (Twi'lek head, headgear, and torso) yesterday, and I simply love it! The quality is really good (LEGO-quality) from the ABS plastic, decals, and design. Plus the prices are relatively affordable for custom parts plus, I even got a bonus mullet! Only downside is I had to decapitate the sand blue right arm from my ARC-170 pilot and the brown left arm and legs of Chewbacca (poor Chewie) to complete my Aaayla Secura fig. I was thinking of doing a comparative review of Arealight's Aaayla vs. TLG's Aayla, I'm just about to purchase TLG's Aayla Secura (MFing expensive!).

Haha! Very funny and cute story, nicely done 'Siegfried'! GG looks very menacing, but he ain't got nothin' on Master Tonberry (the greatest jedi no one has heard of)! I love the last pic, Master Tonberry's four apprentices cheering for their master! Reduced: 85% of original size [ 600 x 450 ] - Click to view full image

Wow what a nice collection of vignettes 'ACPin'! Great works once again. Among the four, I particularly love the Princess Leia vig, the 'dark secretive' lighting really captures the scene from the movie.

[MOC] Micro Venator-class Star Destroyer
XimenaPaulina replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nicely done 'brickdoctor'! For such a small-scaled ship you managed to put a lot of details, I simply love all the greebling effects. Maybe you could make a few of these to make a whole fleet. Great job once again and welcome to EB! -
Thanks for the review def, great job! The set is actually a good one especially for those who want to get most of the Toy Story characters in one buy, though it's really quite expensive.

I'm not much of train guy, but I don't need to be one to say that this is a fabulous work of art! Great job 'zephyr'! The amazing amount of detail just goes to show how much effort you put in researching, designing, and building this masterpiece of a train. I like the way you captured the overall look of a classic steam-engine train. Gotta love also the clever use of moon plate as the steam.

Nice work Darth Yogi. It's a good starting model and you got the basic shape of the speeder. I was curious how the actual speeder look's like so here's a reference pic to compare to you speeder: From the pic, I think you might want to shorten the rear a bit (probably by two studs), widen the front hull, improve the main driver's area (put proper windscreen, 2 x chairs, side covers).
-
Fantastic job on the Wheelbike 'Rook'! Much much better than the official set. I also like how you modified the Boga and Grievous.

Well, that's just wishful thinking on my part, I guess there's already enough reason for TLG to recreate Luminara after 10 long years since she has appeared numerous times in the Clone Wars series. Still, for me, this magnet set is still worth buying, and this will be a great opportunity for others to get these figs for a mcuh cheaper price.
-
I initially thought that was a regular ARC clone pilot, now I realized it's JAG, yeah it would have been more useful it was a generic pilot. They should have just made the set a Jedi Magnet Set, replace the clone pilot with another jedi, probably a Kit-Barriss-Plo (realistic combo) or even a Kit-Luminara-Plo (wishful combo)
-
Thoughts about the new magnet set: Kit Fisto - It won't be too bad getting another Kit (he's my fave jedi after all-duh!). I bought the 8088 ARC-170 to get my first Kit Fisto minifig, but I also love the ship so it's worth buying the set. Barriss Offee - Dammit! I just recently bought my Barriss minifig from ebay, as I did not want to buy that horrendous Swamp Speeder. If I had known this a li'l bit earler, I should have just waited and bought this magnet set (the price will probably be the same as my Bariss fig ) Captain JAG - I need this third pilot for my ARC-170, though it would have been nicer if it was a regular ARC clone pilot. Still, this is a useful fig. Overall, this is a good magnet set, particularly because of the jedis.

This is one of the reasons why I don't make dioramas, I will simply get schooled by the greatness of the ACPin's MOCs! As always, GREAT job! Just curious, how much time do you consume making these wonderful MOCs?

I always mod all my SW sets. Once I buy a new set, I build it first according to the instructions, then I review it and try to fix the things that don't satisfy me about the set. My new sets don't last a single day without getting modified. LEGO sets always have rooms for improvement, actually, there is a lot. I always strive getting the "right look" of SW vehicles. My RGS, JSFs, X-Wing, ARC-170, AT-TE, AT-RTs, etc. have all been modified to capture the right design of the real vehicles. All my builds have so far been SW mods, as I'm not much of a MOC expert (starting from scratch) and I'm also not into vignettes/dioramas. Now I'm currently working on other non-SW themes, I just finished my modified/improved Batman's Tumbler and my next one will be Bikini Bottom Neighborhood (talk about diversity of themes! )

Wow, really? I haven't watched yet that episode, had I known Mace already have one then I would have made his JSF. Thanks for informing me, I searched it off Wikipedia, here's the pic: From what I see, it's all white with a bit of green and red highlights? I need to watch that episode to closely study the colors, and to determine his astromech droid color. I'll definitely make this one to add to my collection. I'll be off to Bricklink then for the needed parts!

Thanks for the comments angel. Regarding the wedge suurounding the cockpit, I couldn't find the right type of wedge to achieve the real look of the JSF, so I just stuck with the curved bricks used in the official TLG sets. And yes, I would have wanted to make a "pointier" front tip for the JSFs, I would have wanted to use the technique of DutchRebel's Plo Koon's JSF using 4 X 1 slopes for the tip, but unfortunately, there are no dark red 4 x 1 slopes available for Kit's and Ahsoka's JSF, so I just stuck with the 6 x 3 wedge plates. Thanks 'Clone O'Patra. I also would like to make the JSFs for the other jedis, but if I'm right there are still no official images of Mace Windu's Delta 7B right (and for the other jedis as well)? I only know Mace's purple-and-white Phase II jedi starfighter. If SW will make the JSFs for the other jedis, I will surely make my LEGO version of them to add to my collection.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm happy you liked my collection. I mistakenly took the bottom photo even before finishing the white paint job on the starburst pattern, my bad. I was too lazy to take another photo, hehe. Thanks for the cake Forresto! The green dome of Kit's JSF are the same for both pics. It might just be the bad lighting I'll need to improve on my photography for next time.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hi guyz! I just want to share with you a new(?) photo of the upcoming Lego Set #8683-1: LEGO Minifigure Series 1. I remember seeing this rumored set a few months back and I don't know if this was posted already, if it was, then I apologize if this isn't new news. Anyway, I must say that the minifig selections are great, with new torsos, faces, hair pieces and elements never before seen in any Lego set. This is really a must-have for all minifig collectors and Lego fans in general too. -
1. WOW. 2. Another masterful creation from pedro. 3. Damn It! My dreams of entering (and hopefully winning) in this BP contest shattered the moment I saw this entry Really really great job on all aspects: - great concept for a BP - who wouldn't want to build a jedi army? - very professionally looking, full detailed box art - just like (or even better) than the real thing! - cool choices of jedi minifigs - trully a good way to get Rodian & Mon Cal minifigs. Plus, customizable options (additional hairpiece, interchangeable torsos/legs) - pretty decent speeder for a battlepack, much better than all the BP vehicles TLG released Undoubtedly the BEST BP entry I've seen so far. As always, great great job pedro!

I think TLG will release Plo Koon's Starfighter not because of the Plo Koon minifig but because of the JSF itself, which most will agree is a thing of beauty (the color scheme most especially). I think most people will buy this set to get the JSF, and this will be agreat chance for others to get Plo's minifig in a much cheaper set. Also, I think people bought (and will buy) the 7676 RGS because of the RGS itself, no matter what jedi minifig is included, Plo's minifig is just an added bonus... Personally, I would have preferred another Jedi minifig, but is there any jedi that can boast of a better-looking starfighter?

My Top 5 MOC/MOD/Dioramas (in no particular order): - Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter by DutchRebel - Naboo Starfighter by Dutchrebel - Emperor's Arrival by MortenSonne - Tactical Droid TX-20 by Hopeso009 - AT-RT by pedro

Based on the TCW Season II trailer, here are sets/minifigs I think (and wish) we might get... Ships: Assajj Ventress' ship (not familiar w/ the exact model name, also appeared in the Clone Wars Cartoon Series) - a nice medium size-set, the ship can be easily built from existing LEGO parts, and will be a cheaper way to get a Ventress minifig... Minifigs: a. Ki Adi Mundi - probably a large set portraying the battle scene in the trailer. Any set with a brand new Jedi minifig is great, and the first LEGO Ki Adi Mundi minifig will be a great addition to any Jedi minifig collection b. BX-series droid commando - probably in a battle pack or any set with these new elite droid commandos - the new elite droids have already appeared in the first season, and their continuing appearance in Season II might signal that they will be made my TLG, these droids will be a good addition to any droid army, and is a much signficant improvement to the clumsy and rather ineffective battle droids... c. Cade Bane - most probably we will get this bounty hunter since he might be appearing on multiple episodes (already did in Season I finale), hopefully in a Bounty Hunter Battlepack. d. Mandalorian Battle Pack - especially with the Mandalorian speaking in the trailer... e. Padme - it's about time to do a CW Padme, she's a very important character in the TCW series to be ignored f. Duchess Satine - Obi-wan Kenobi's love interest might find her way into the LEGO world, but if Satine gets a minifig moreso should Padme... These are just some of the things I think we'll get (hopefully) based on the trailer...
