While I normally don't check train MOCs, this one is amazing. Great job capturing the shape.

Should TLC stop photoshopping their pictures?
MikroMan replied to merman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't really have any problems with TLC using CGIs and slightly altered images - as long as there are only corrections in color tones and such. If they'd start using more ''misleading'' graphics (such as that steering system), then I imagine more people would be unsatisfied with TLC. And, most importantly, given what some of the clone brands are like, we have no reason to complain: (Of course, this is problem with the actual set, not the photo alterations, but still) -
Nice unconventional shape, greeblines and awesome use of color contrast!

When did your collection reach critical mass?
MikroMan replied to Arigomi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only thing my collection is, is critically underfed I've been into brick building only for a few monts - past 4 years, I've been only doing Technic and Mindstorms, so I haven't bought any classic bricks for some time. Due to this, my collection consists of a large amount of Technic, plus the sets given to me as a kid. And since I was given sets from multiple random themes by relatives, I rarely have a larger amount of pieces in unifrom color. -
Restoring vintage sets, question regarding replacing bricks.
MikroMan replied to naf's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think that to most people the mold version won't really matter if the changes are on the inside/downside. The molds were changed mostly due to factories changing the composition of plastic, economical use of material in modling process, clutch power of pieces... The problem with certain parts on BL is that only a few of them have separate part numbers for older molds (ex: tiles with/without groove). The easiest way to verify the version will be, as you said, to contact the sellers. I suggest you try searching BL by store name with term ''vintage''. I know I've seen a couple of stores selling exclusively old vintage parts. Used' obviously, but in good condition. -
Listed a trade topic, been in conatct with a few peopšle regarding my BL orders, sorted some LEGO and finally completed my Brickstore inventory of past BL orders.

After watching the trailer, my feelings are kind of mixed... The Hobbit (book and movie) are more children oriented, and from this standpoint the movie is nice. But for an adult Tolkien fan, it lacks certain elements. I realize that they had to add some plot to rationalize splitting the film, but some things should be left as they were. What the hell is with the barrel escape scene? They were supposed to escape unseen and packed into the barrels, not hunted... Not to mention their capture in the woods (in book, they fell asleep under elves' enchantments). While I'll enjoy the movie when it's released, it won't really make it near the top of my Top Movie List...

Nice review I'd love to get my hands on a couple of those, but yeah, no Shell here. Might pick some up on BL or if I'm in neighbouring countries in the next few weeks.

Yup, this looks way better than the original set, simply because you get a feeling of completeness

Well, I really wish for Gondorian helmets *drool*

MikroMan replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm a great fan of BTTF and I'm really excited to see the Delorean coming up. I'm picking up at least one for sure -
Great tower, an I like the snowy landscape, especially the fact that you've remembered to put some snow on top of the plants as well.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
MikroMan replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I vote for Starhopper, it look rather ugly to me... I realize that all starships can't be pretty and sleek, but still, I don't like it. -
While the set is great, I doubt I'll be buying it soon... Maybe, if it sticks around for as long as the Death Star has, but I definitely won't be jumping the trigger on it the second it comes out. I love Eworks and the tree design, but it just doesn't do the *wow* effect for me. In any case, I'll be getting myself some Ewoks, one way or another

This is quite cool... I might have to look into making some of SW steampunk MOCs myself. And yes, you MUST build a minifig sized Steampunk Slave
