I can agree on that, just about any soccer mom is stockpiling Helm's Deep, Vampyre Castles and things like that... There's a lot of sets that are underestimated.

I also think that reselling older sets for astronomical prices won't go on forever, but the main thing is, that the sets I've bought are still valuable to me as a source of parts and if sealed it's doubtful that they'll fall under the MSRP price.

I've been busy with my finals for the past few weeks, but I've been tinkering with some bricks from Clone Trooper Battle Pack I had lying around the table. The final result: Autonomous Armed Drone. Since my brick amount is currently very limited (4 BL orders in progress, thankfully), I'm making mostly small creations, such as this Communications Station. The yellow tubes are power lines.

The Comm Station is supposed to be a companion piece to*something*, only I haven't figured what exactly I might incorporate it into some larger MOC, once I build my collection up a bit.

Yeah, we need some part of Minas Tirith, Gondor army builder set, possibly Osgiliath attack / Ithilien camp, Ranger's ambush on Haradrim, Witch-king battle, maybe even a scene with orcs and Grond attacking the Gates of Minas Tirith. So many possibilities

Since I have my finals, I haven't been able to build as much as I'd want to in the past few weeks. But I had parts from Clone Trooper Battle Pack lying arond the table and I created this: Manned Anti-Airship Gun. Operated by one Clone Trooper, featuring two barrels, fully rotatable.

So, I need some advice... I've watched all ST movies, plus a good deal of episodes from TOS, TNG and DS9. My girlfriend is a huge fan of Star Trek as well, but she had seen only movies (We intend to watch some episodes this summer) and her birthday is coming up in three weeks. I want to buy her a season or two on DVDs, but I'm not sure which would be the best. I was thinking first/second TOS series. Can someone recommend anything specific?

@Darth Caedus: Sadly, I doubt LEGO would go for the 2nd Age sets simply because the story of Silmarillion is not too well known to general populace, especially to the kids. While I agree that seeing Gil Galad, Elendil, and the opposing forces would be amazing, it's nearly impossible to happen

For smaller sets, I usually display them for a few days, then disassmble them and integrate them into MOCing collection. Larger sets - UCS Falcon - get to be set up for display for a few months or a year and then carefully taken apart, put into ziplock bags and stored in original boxes.

I guess it's because my parents, friends and relatives have been buying LEGO for me since I was 3 years old - it's gotten to the point where my classmates get me LEGO inmpulse sets or battle packs when we have our annual Secret Santa kind-of-thing. I had hobbies I liked for half a year, a year, a couple of years, but I always came back to LEGO. It truly ia a toy and a tool for developing imagination and creativity.
