What adhesive to use ?
green dewback replied to green dewback's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks for the tip. I tested with glue stick, paper and imitation brand plastic brick, peel it off after 40hours and very minor damage to the paper. Whatever tiny residue on the plastic is easy washed away with water. I will use glue stick then ! Cheap and effective solution, but have to be gentle as it's holding strength is weak. -
Some time ago I printed a decal on normal a4 paper for the 7676republic-gunship. I folded the top edge to form a inverted hook or clip to hang onto the lego plate piece. But there is a problem, the bottom of the paper is unsecured and flaps around. So I was thinking, maybe sticking the 2 bottom corners down for good, but I don't apply stickers anymore on my lego. What adhesive do you guys use ? preferredly no residue or staining upon removal or degrading after years. I have thought of double-sided tape and blue-tac, but DST turns yellow after years and wikipedia says blue-tac leaves oily stain on paper material after long period of time. Thanks in advance.

Creepy faces from CW are a pollution to my mf collection and I avoid them. The new clone troopers are slightly better as they have a helmet to cover that hideous face.
-
Wow, the clone trooper visor piece fit onto normal minifig helmet.

On page 85 it says lego boxes get average 7% reduction. ONLY 7% I think we all know 30-50% of the box is wasted empty space.

What Does Your April Fool Do For a Living CONTEST

The Jester is on a quest to bring laughter to every minifig in Legoworld, but unfortunately the Bounty Hunters doesn't appreciate his humor. Boba Fett is a Youtube addict and Greedo is a psychopath killer. -

my entry: Teleport to the WRONG dimension -
Well I saw the NEW video on brothers-brick, so that guy found 2 c-d-v in 1 battlepack. The video and camera angle doesn't show the "front" boxart of the box, so its entirely possible to use a penknife and open it up to put the DVs inside. When he opened the box, the instructions booklet covered the bottom so we couldn't see if the bottom cardboard (front boxart) had been tampered with or not. No Im not saying the video is fake, just saying it is possible to recreate the video under these circumstances.

Wow the dungeon certainly looks like Rancor's lair. I remember seeing this set sitting on TRU shelf during multiple trips there, maybe it did not sell well. Glad I didn't pick it up blindly, I'm more towards vehicles than buildings, and Jabba simply disgust me. Great Review

When you compare a brand new out of packaging 1x1 trans-colour round stud and a "played" piece from your parts collection, the "played" piece have tiny micro-fractures on the sides where it cup onto the stud. For the "new" piece after building and removing it 1-2 times, the micro-fractures appear and the piece does feel to have less gripping power. Anybody else notice this too on your trans-colour 1x1 round studs ? The micro-fractures are not visible on other opaque colours but the gripping power does get affected too.

Hi everyone ! I'm not sure if this disqualify it because it's not totally a machine, and I don't have any photo gallery for more pics as I only took these 5. Self-Propelled Dewback Dew Drinks Dispenser Dewback Dew is a thirst quenching drink on Tatooine. Here we have a father and son selling the drink as their livelihood. Every morning they ride this beast to the busy Mos Eisley streets and setting up their stall. Sometimes the beast throws tantrum and refuse to walk when its hungry. It's human master will cut some green moss growing on its head and feed it to the beast. front During transportation, the signboard folds down and shade the beast. The pushcart is thrown ontop. top Dewback Dew rear Signboard unfolds to attract attention. Pushcart for serving the customers. Water tank for storing the Dewback Dew. How are Dewback Dew made ? right Thats no dew ! Dewback Dew is made from Dewback Drool ! YUCK ! There's a transparent funnel to collect the drool and a pump to suck the liquid in. 4 backpacks on top to hold their belonging. left Now they are open for business. The 2 blue tubes are coolant to chill the drink for the dispenser. Dewbacks are reptiles and their cold-blooded nature are harnessed to provide cool drinks for those who can afford it. 6 taps in multi-colours. I forgot to take a shot of the 2 minifigs riding the beast, too late I already dismantled this. Counted around 160 to 180 pieces in total. Hope this provided some amusement for you.

Best and worst Lego set of the 2000's
green dewback replied to alexrider7's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Worst ? These 2 "barely-lego" sets pop up in my mind -
I have this set but lost the garmorean guard can't remember where I put it, probably given it away. Miss that little piggyface.

I have this set, from shell promo where you bought more than a certain amount of fuel ($50?) and buy it for $1.99. Used to be part of my few childhood toys, parents rarely indulge me with toys and I was too shy to request The tri-motorbike also came with the 2003 world-city police mobile command trailer set, so in total I have 2 of these. To my horror after a few years of not playing with them, the rubber wheels degraded and turned all sticky and oily, needed a wash in wd40, dishwashing detergent, contact cleaner. Now they are converted into white speederbikes similar to 7676 design.

a VERY NICE moc, reminds me of those APUs from matrix film. Retaining the original circular saw and pincer is a nice touch. I'm planning to add folding sword & flight pack for my future "yet to be bought" Mine Mech. Never owned any of the exo-force robots so this would be my first biped

What Lightsabre Hilt do you like the most?
green dewback replied to Tim Bit's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I like the straight bley, useful in other moc for example laser cannon barrel. Chrome straight looks the best but its too delicate, the shiny paint might chip off. -
the redesigned a-wing I went to the store during weekend but it was closed. I remember before I was into StarWars, at TRU I saw the geonosian starfighter set at a reasonable price but bought the alpha team mission deep sea sets instead.

Found eurobricks years ago when sam89 constantly post leaked SW pictures at fbtb.

Review: 8958 Granite Grinder
green dewback replied to The Cobra's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm interested in this set too, but same as you, I would only buy 1 small set from this theme. My other potential candidate would be the slightly cheaper and smaller Mine Mech. Ive already built a pair of weapon arms and flight pack for Mine Mech, just waiting to buy it, but I have plans too for this compact green mean rollin' machine maybe reduce its width and sacrificing the jackhammer mechanism + adding weapons on the rear. I have read from somewhere else the rubber belt doesn't really roll smoothly in this set, is that true ? Great Review ! very detailed -
Finish version is better but the empty forehead area is a little bland.
-
Shorten the barrel a little and it would look more accurate.
-
Just the right size, cute and stubby. Love driving that vehicle in SWBF2 outside the map at Polis Massa and spawnkilling.

Thats so funny Patricks head is out of scale, makes Mundi look weird like something OBSCENE. Very creative on this, never knew patrick's head could be used like that. Best part is Spongebob witnessing the "head-snatcher" Does the leg and arms hinges become loose doing that ? Ive done that 2 times to the arms and it becomes loose after re-attach and I don't really like that. Is there a trick to it ?

That is really SUPERB ! Slide out compartments for efficient space usage, very good.
