Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

If someone has themselves has the presence of thought to drop a particular discussion (which I appreciate), then I suggest others do not continue it. Making jabs at someone is no way to behave either. -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
They'd have to make something cloth that goes onto the arms like Storm's cape. That's the only part I can think of in LEGO history that has gone over the hands to rest on the arms. -
I think the rumour is just that the existing one is back, but I could be wrong.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't think I ever knew there were regional differences in the barcodes! But I do remember going to a store with I think a printout guide and getting my Spartan and surfer that way. Probably should've bought more than one, but I've almost never been someone to buy more than one of anything... I also one time found Series 4, with the bump codes, on big mark down at a Target, so I bought a whole bunch just checking that none of the bumps matched each other, to ensure no duplicates. It's amazing how many different methods we've been through to identify the figures, though feeling was my tried and true method for so many years. I think I only ever made two mistakes, and one was for Series 1, so I hardly blame myself. Yeah it's lucky those are similar weights, and more than all the rest besides the train kid, or I wouldn't have been able to weigh them with my kitchen scale that rounds to the nearest gram. I might also try for the Barbarian since she's lighter than all the rest. I didn't feel like investing in an accurate milligram scale just for the purposes of weighing minifigures...- 568 replies

I think it's a good set too, but on the animal front it's a matter of not meeting several expectations. First it's clearly inspired by / a semi-tribute to MMV, which had a good amount of animals. Second the leaked prelim had a lot more. Finally, a strong part of the feeling of mediaeval town and peasant scenes (whether based in reality or not) is lots of animals running around. I would've expected to at least see a bunch of chickens, a pig and piglet, etc. So all in all, what's presented in the set is good, but it feels like animals are missing to really tie it together, and as a LEGO animal fan of course I would've liked to see more / in new colours or patterns too.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yep as I've previously said in this topic, all CMF Australia-wide appear to only have the small codes at the moment, which don't have enough info in them to identify the Minifigures. Luckily I was in the US when the series came out, and got two others I wanted via scanning the larger codes.- 568 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I guess it would've been unlikely for them to reuse the white goat so soon, but it doesn't mean they won't later on. I took a chance and brought my not particularly accurate gram kitchen scale to the store, and managed with three packs to get both the Goatherd and Batlord, plus the train kid (who I didn't care about, but three different figures is great).- 568 replies

I reckon it will be on PaB and not bestseller at first, but could be changed to it later. I'm not worried about the city sets. All the precedent within city points to them having lots of animals. It's just more of a surprise that the mediaeval set is so light on, even for existing animals.

I saw it on IG yes. -
There's an image of the new Mediaeval Market floating around. I see a dark grey goat and that's it for newly coloured animals.

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Clone OPatra replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
There's a leaked image out, which looks legit. I can only see one dark grey goat. Just one??? The buildings and whole set looks decent and high quality, but there was something a little more charming about the original, though that could be just nostalgia talking. This one has a lot more detail, of course. It feels lacking in the animal department though - all I see is one goat, kitten, squirrel and bird. It needs more, including some pigs and cows! -
Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Even while they do release multiple big sets for some themes per year, they surely wanted the castle to be the major Disney 100 set and give it breathing room for sales. I don't know why they aren't carrying on the Disney 100 branding for another year though. Feels like they might as well. -
Ah, I'd missed that, or if I saw it, I forgot!

It's Friends style but I love that little capybara piece in the leaked Encanto set alongside the Snow White cottage!

Pics are out, and the prince and Witch are included! Honestly though, I feel like the set is over-designed. Yeah it looks good, and it's awesome to have so many minifigures, but the location just isn't iconic enough for a set of this size, piece count and price, in my opinion. Anyway, looking forward to new neck-beards and hats on PaB -

Replying to two of your points here: 1. That isn't how it works, as LEGO doesn't produce just the precise amount of a part for a set. I've never read any insight into how they decide how much of a part to produce in addition to what will be needed for a set it's going in, but they absolutely have bins of Buckbeak parts lying around. Perhaps it could be that they end up not doing an extra production run of a set that isn't selling so well, so have an overstock of certain parts. 2. Battle-pack has become a colloquial humourous name for any set that offers a fair amount of some sort of thing at a relatively low price relative to the contents. For instance fans call the recent $10 City sets with otters and seals the "otter battle pack" and "seal battle pack". It isn't meant to be taken too seriously. -

Found two more brand new boxes of them in another major retailer. They have S in the code, but are all exclusively small QRs.- 568 replies

Here in Australia, where they officially release today (February 1st), the first two boxes my nearby LEGO Certified Store had all had small QR codes only. I figured Australia gets batches packed in Europe, or is there a third location that packs CMF for Asia Pacific now - Mexico, Europe and... somewhere else?- 568 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Clone OPatra replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
For me I post part hauls on my Instagram, but I haven't been bothered to upload the pics to my Flickr so that I can easily share them here. I should. Here's my latest post, but it's quite a backlog as these orders were from mid-2023, so parts from late 2022 and early 2023. https://www.instagram.com/p/C2ZuTJhJ1FW/?igsh=eGsxd3E4aG9ydWJh -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Clone OPatra replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've seen the reports coming out of this topic. I don't think anything has been way too out of line, but to the two people having a heated back and forth while everyone else ignores them, maybe it's time to leave said heated back and forth. For my own part, I wonder how those midis are going to do. It feels a bit odd to me that LEGO is dropping three at once , but I guess they did with helmets too and that worked for a while. The Falcon also strikes me as a little incongruous with the others releases so far, but it is so popular of a ship, so I get it. It's ironic but the hallway set looks way too over engineered and detailed for what it is. If it was a diorama set it'd make sense, but for a playset, just give me a pretty bare hallway for $30-$35. $55 is far too much for the scene as a playset, even if it tracks with what they've done for the particular set. -

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

If you mean Brickset, they did go to London Toy Fair. It's on their Instagram story. The only "news" is a picture showing all the themes tying into space and a hint that there are some things yet to be revealed, but we already knew that from leaks I think. -

Brickset is/was attending London Toy Fair in the last day or so, but like previously said, LEGO is very strict about what can or can't be shared, so barely anything comes out of toy fairs. I remember ye olde days of yore poring over FBTB's extensive coverage of upcoming sets at NYTF. Good times. -

JB's quick video of the Hagrid's Hut has shown just how small the hut really looks next to minifigures. I'm still a bit confused where all the parts have gone in that set, though I guess it's down to having a large number of small parts for detail. Nonetheless, I am looking to picking up that set in particular, maybe once there's a decent sale.
