  1. A "proper" road grader model should be bigger and more complex than the one from the 8074 set. As I remember it - I would like to see a proper drilling rig, mid to big size, with all functions from the real thing. Like this: Or with a cabin, like this: Similar to the excavators from the recent years, I know. But personally I'd rather see that, than yet another truck. Trucks are cool if made interesting enough regarding equipment, but I feel there's been enough trucks and similar vehicles like the new mobile crane. At least I'd like to see a grader and a drilling rig with or without cabin as next year's biggest sets.
  2. If you first posted it in the Town forum, it was probably due to the reason that Technic and Town-related stuff are 2 different themes. Something Technic-related doesn't belong in the Town section.
  3. This huge crane might have better features than the 42009, but it's way too big for my personal taste. By the looks of it, it would take up half of my desk.
  4. I have to agree. "How Many 41999 Crawler Sets Will You Buy And Why?" and "41999 modifications" is something that could be asked in this thread, and a 2nd review thread isn't really necessary.

    What did you buy today?

Received today a package with 3 small technic sets I ordered on Friday. 42002 Hovercraft and 2 x 9390 Mini Tow Truck.
  6. A clever new part. Upon seeing it for the first time on pics here, I immediately thought of a good use for it
  7. I would have MOCed it and used only green on the cab, but for strictly using the parts from the set, it looks very good. How much of the parts have you used by now? Are you making a trailer or any other sort of equipment if you have enough parts left?

    How did you find Eurobricks?

I searched Google to find good reviews on the 8110 Unimog U400 in the spring, to find out more about the parts used etc. before buying it, and among the results was a review on this "site" eurobricks.com. I found out it was a forum, and started reading more topics in the Technic, Mindstorms & Model Team section. And eventually I had to register and take part of this forum

What Lego-related thing did you do today?

Checked the sending on some small Technic sets I ordered on Friday, and it was finally sent today.
  10. That would require buying the 9398 anyway, to have its chassis to put the LE body on. But it would be cheaper than buying both sets as they are though. You don't buy a whole new excavator just for one different bucket
  11. I can't imagine that a bucked made from "normal" bricks like that would be very solid. Or?
  12. Everyone who wants motors have just as much "right" to buy them as anyone else, so that's out of the picture. The overall point is - if you need motors right NOW, your only option is BL. If you can wait, then wait. If you can't afford or don't want to buy them from BL, you can only wait anyway.
  13. Your idea of the actual A-model being secret, seeing if anyone could design something close to it, wasn't what I intended. At least I understood that you understood it that way. Sorry for any confusion. What I mean is that TLG create the actual A-model, and then publish pics + the complete parts list, and there could be a competition allowing fans to create a physical or digital B-model with as many of the parts as possible. And the best one, getting the most votes from an official poll, would become the official B-model. Repeating myself from my original post, I know, but in case of any confusion, I want to make it more clear.
  14. Yes, that's what I meant. Only yesterday while browsing some American BL-stores to find the name of a part, I found some part with a description of the condition in addition to "used".
  15. It was before the piece you made, was made by TLG? Then I get it.
  16. They've probably focused on improving the functions. And there is a 5th axle and 2 more tires, that makes for some extra parts too.
  17. I really want this to be made. I'm MOCing a mower for my tractor MOC at the moment, and this would just be really useful to work as a drive shaft. Like the ones used between tractors and equipment: And for easier attachment or better use, I'd like to see the linear actuators with the attaching point in the opposite end of the outer cylinder. To the left of the number 3, at the edge of the outer cylinder:
  18. Any set should be made to allow full functionality of whatever functions it has, even if it means going away from replicate a certain brand and model (like the Unimog U400) to do so. Anyone who buys the set, can modify or rebuild it into replicating any brand and model anyway.
  19. It seems they want to supply the motors to finish all the Boss Crawler sets, and maybe other sets in which those are to be used, and when all the sets have the required motors, those can be sold normally.
  20. "Vassal" is a forum title given at 0-99 posts. The nickname is at the left side of the grey line above each post.
  21. Agreed. Keep the max limit of parts at 2800-3000 or something, and focus on the quality of the functions rather than putting as many of them into the model as possible. A few amazing functions will always be better than many with lower quality.
  22. Usually I'm not a fan of Hot Rod type cars, but this looks awesome! If TLG pulls another competition in the future similar to the Boss Crawler one, they could create a digital model of one of the sets up for release, and then let people download the file and create their suggestion(s) for a B-model in LDD or similar, using all or as many as possible of the parts from the set, and the B-model with the most votes was chosen as the official B-model of the set when it was released Would probably generate quite a bit of excitement.
