I've always wondered why they couldn't just, once locating the exhaust port, fly straight in to deliver those torpedoes. Shooting straight forward instead of flying in the trench and having to get them 90 degrees down. Did the DS have shields that made the trench run the only possible way?

Impossible LEGO
N-4K0 replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Is that two regular round 1x1 plates? I don't find regular single studs any difficult to separate from pin holes, haven't found any studs having that much friction inside a pin hole. -
Decent looking sets. Though I do agree on TLG's decision to not make war-themed sets (Star Wars being an exception), Lego is primarily a children's toy and I think it's better off not being connected with anything war related.

Efferman's Custom Parts
N-4K0 replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I just browsed Effe's creations on shapeways and there is indeed a 4L pin, with center stop. I like the 5L pin hole with 2L pin on each end, Effe. The 3L version TLG makes is among my fav parts and your version looks even more useful. -

1L trans-clear pieces could work as extra lights in between the connectors in the grille, but 2L headlights which I assume you mean, I agree is probably best done as LXF suggests. -

So the new 2x11 cylinder is 2x11 and extends to 2x17, what's the measurements for the old cylinder? I know I have two from the Unimog, but I can't find one to check the extension length. Does the 2x11 have a length and extension that makes it better to use that than two of the old one connected with brackets?- 4021 replies

Simple and clever installation of the motor and battery box. Nice. -
Review: 42060 Roadwork Crew
N-4K0 replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Having orange as one of the primary colors is the only thing I really like with this set. The truck is nice and the B-model interesting and cool and both look cool in orange, otherwise I don't care much about this set. It doesn't appeal to me to the extent of buying and the B-model is the only thing that makes it worth an "Ok" for me. I agree they should have ditched the trailer and made the excavator go onto the back of the truck, perhaps used the parts for the trailer to make the truck a bit longer with a longer bed. Otherwise decent review, Siegfried. -

The only place I never experience the next/previous page loading issue is between pages in the Technic index itself. In every topic I get the issue like 99% of the time. -
Best Technic Set
N-4K0 replied to Pauger's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't know if I've ever had a favorite. The one set I remember the best which I had back in the days is 8235. Despite the size and the studded building technique which I don't really like today, it's probably my favorite among the sets I had as a kid. Right now I would say 42054 Claas Xerion is one of my favorites, overall. I'm a sucker for tractors and construction machines and the Claas really appeals to me. -

I guess many of these (primarily?) Chinese copycats copy everything they can get their eyes on, so to hold them off at least for a while, the secrecy is kinda positive. I'm looking forward to news from Nuremberg next week. -

I don't mind either part being used, but I feel like white for topics you've posted in is a little too faint. I think this should be changed to LBG, with DBG being used as "new posts" and e.g. red for "new posts in topics you've posted in". Otherwise I like it. -
I found another funny pic today. (Please let me know mods/admins, if the pic posting goes too far, even when it's related to the topic)

General Part Discussion

One part I wish TLG would make is a more narrow version of the big track links, more suitable for machines like drilling rigs which IRL uses more narrow belts. I know the smaller track links are more narrow, but I find those too "fragile" and weak.- 4021 replies

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
N-4K0 replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
One thing TLG could have done is making a public voting where the most voted (potentially flagship) set from every 10th year (77-87-97-07), or maybe from each decade (77-86, 87-96 etc.), was remade and re-released as special 40th anniversary sets. Remade in studless for the older ones, updated for the newer, upgraded in one way or another. Sounds like a logical option to me. -
Quite a good theory. It's been said before that Yoda discovered while confronting Palpatine in ROTS that the ways the Jedi had been using for the last few millennia, led to the Jedi order destroying itself. It could very well be as in this theory that Luke discovered a way to successfully use both the light and dark side in balance, eventually training Rey this way, leading to Luke truly being the last of the traditional Jedi. On a side not, just found this http://cdn.artige.no/image/artige/240117/31c67542bcb6b225fb9e.png

I've been thinking about the title and come to the conclusion, personally, that The Last Jedi probably is singular. Right now, Luke is the last Jedi alive. Rey might become a full Jedi at some point, but she needs time and training and we might not see that happen until IX. So at least until we get to watch the movie, I think The Last Jedi is singular, meaning Luke.
-
Not as far as I know. TFA was the first movie to not feature "Episode ***" in the official title (the way it's written), although it still says "Episode VII" in the opening crawl. Episodes I-VI, at least on the latest versions of the DVD covers, does have the episode number in a large size behind the name though. IMO they should have kept the episodic titles in this format so that they could potentially use the new format with the name in between Star and Wars on the stand-alone movies.

The way it is right now, with Kylo Ren (being a Force user and former Jedi padawan) on the dark side with Snoke and Rey not yet being even a padawan, I'd say it's definitely Luke. I've seen people comment though that since "Jedi" can be both singular and plural (1 Jedi, 5 Jedi), "The Last Jedi" could mean both Luke and Rey. Luke is the last Jedi at the moment, but as soon as Rey has gotten enough training to be considered a Jedi padawan, technically the two of them will be the last Jedi.

I agree. I wasn't bothered by the small things that kinda felt inconsistent with ANH, but either way the guys explained the topics from the questions very well. Quite interesting with things like how Leia was on her way to find Obi-Wan on Tattooine on Raddus' command ship and they joined the battle of Scarif instead due to higher priority, and the Tantive IV being docked in Raddus' ship due to repairs or something. I wonder if the repairs were completed or if it had to be postponed since they had to flee immediately once Vader came and almost reached the ship.

If you're thinking of the interview with Pablo Hidalgo and the 2 other guys, yes, I saw that interview on Friday. I forgot about that detail until I saw the short clips of the transmission being sent in several parts in the interview video. I guess I interpreted the "several transmissions were beamed to this ship" in ANH as several transmission of the complete file and not several transmissions of the same file. With all the easter eggs and things the guys mentioned which clears up (in my opinion) any feeling of inconsistency between RO and ANH, everything makes sense.

If I recall correctly, it was stated that the First Order was at least partly formed with/from remaining resources from the Empire after its final defeat in the battle of Jakku. They could write things with Rebels to have Thrawn stationed in other star systems during the Ep 4-6 years and have him come in to take control of the remaining fleet and troops of the Empire after Palpatine and Vader's deaths and the Death Star II's destruction, fighting against the rebel alliance and maybe others trying to take the control, and perhaps going down in the Empire's final defeat on/above Jakku.
