    [Galidor Category B] Nepol

I thought I'd try doing a Bionicle-based head sculpture of one of the more unique looking Galidor characters, Nepol. There's a couple more pics in the album on Flickr.

    Pikotu Beetle [BIONICLE MOC]

These are pretty cool. I really like the idea of rahi that are built more so as early '00s technic sets with unique functions rather than the modern trend of form over all else. Seems like a relatively untapped area.

    Future Constraction Lines

I think my honest answer to "Where do you want to see constraction go from here?" is pretty simple: "Whatever the cheapest way is that they can sell me new and interesting Bionicle/ccbs parts or parts in new colors." Maybe one route to go down would be Creator style sets focused on Technic and CCBS. Like lets say you have a "Hero" themed set that focused on a simple function and gave you ideas for a few different body styles and gear. Then just rinse and repeat for your "Creature" set, "Alien" set, etc. That being said, I also like some of the other ideas proposed that may fall more in line with what you would expect from a Bionicle/HF successor: Exo-force revival, Tron-esque digital dudes, Zoid-like mecha creatures. I'd just be hesitant for any other licensed CCBS lines. Largely due to all the issues Star Wars had with likenesses, builds, parts selection, and pricing.
  4. Part of Galidors ruling class of nobility. The Archduke was rather famous across the outer dimension for his advanced glinching abilities, often altering his facial features to suit his mood. Thought it might be fun to try building more of a portrait or bust with Galidor parts.

    Review: 8902 Piraka Vezok

Hey all you in Eurobricks land I come to you today with my first review. I'll be covering Vezok: the beast. First we have the inventory, 41 parts in all. Some intresting stuff there, including several sand blue ball sockets, sand blue metru waist, light up eyes, some new lower leg pieces and a piraka skull. Now for the limbs and components that make up the figure. The torso: Made up of 6 parts. Unlike almost every other canned bionicle set released, the piraka contain no gear action feature. Doesn't really bother me, it allows for better posablity. The legs: basicly the same type of thing we've seen since the toa metru, but with new animal-like feet, new lower legs, new upper-leg armor and longer upper legs. The arms: The right contains a new lower piece which allows the wrist to swivel all the way behind. The left is just the same as a toa metru arm. Face: Basicly the most unique aspect of each piraka. Vezok has a "pissed off" to him with a nice big frown and bumpy (possibly representing stuble) chin. Arsinal: He's got (of course) the standard issue Zamor launcher and a harpoon/buzzsaw. It's enough to make him look menacing. Now on to the actual figure itself. unarmed crouching hand up buzzsaw power harpoon power Looks nice, has a repilian/"creature from beneath the sea" feel to it. There are enought ball & socket joints on this guy to get him in some nice poses. Although with the head being tethered to the rubbery spine, it kinda limits the ways you can move the head. The light-up eyes work well. Apparently the battery isn't replaceable, but there mite be a way to replace it. The Zamor Launcher serves its purpose, (to hurl plastic balls at people :-D ), But seriously these things can shoot pretty far and with a fair amount of force. Overall I like this guy, he makes for a great action figure with some nice unintrucive features. For mocers there are some uniquely colored socket pieces and new lower legs that could be of some use. Score: Figure: 8 Pieces: 7 Playablity: 9 Overall: 8 Theres more pics in the gallery, after moderation. Any photo request will be taken into consideration. Thank you, and good night.

    The Great Pineapple

I was just playin around with 3827 and thought I just had to do something with all those orange parts so, this is what came of it. The only non-3827 parts are Spongebob's pirate hat (He just needed one. ;-) ) and the plate that connects it. Spongebob close-up I didn't think Patrick had the motor skills to play the gutar... Gary likes to play figurehead Looks like Spongebob found the perfect place to park his ship. Gallery Have a Spongy day. X-D
  7. It started out as a simple studless Vic Viper from messing with those new (to me) technic panels, but then I had to go and complicate things by adding Power Functions... Here come the pics: And here's some poorly shot footage of it in action:

    Color Change by AFOLs?

Oh my god... Mechanical claws in something besides dark bluish gray? Yes please. Also, more purple slopey bricks are always a good thing.

    MOC: Tahu

I can't say I've ever really remade a toa before. I figured I should do it at least once before Bionicle was totally over.

    MOC: Slipstream

Design inspired by this one minicon, Steel Wind. Only with a new name, and faction.

    MOC: Big Blue

A mischevious blue fellow that seems to live in his own little world...
  14. Very, very interesting. They sure are corny, but charmingly so. I always wanted to play that game, even though it probably would've ended up mediocre at best. I just wonder if we'll ever get to see some gameplay... Or better yet, a leaked iso. Just ignore that... <_<

    Gyro-Cycle

A motorcycle with a trackball for the rear wheel... Seemed like an interesting concept, so I tried it out.

    Bionicle characters, photo portraits

These are some very interesting photos. I especially like what you did with that shot of Takadox. I hope to see more.

    MOC: J-35 Enforcer

A peace keeping mech built to neutralize any unlawful activity. It's notorious for being a little too harsh with it's punishments.

    Review: 8998 Toa Mata Nui

Thanks for putting it all out there for us. To me, the design seemed a bit lacking with gaps, holes, and general lack of "buffness" throughout, especially from the initial pics, but here, it's really not that bad compared to other titans these days. Definitely a step below Takanuva though. Beyond that, the color scheme is just all over the place. They probably should've either added more gold, stuck with one shade of yellow, or dropped the gold entirely. And at 50 bucks, it all just doesn't seem worth it to me... (That is unless I snag it at Goodwill for $12 like I did Kardas. )

    Transformers

With pleasure! Also, images. Here's a condensed list: Sorry guys, no constructicons... It's a shame we'll probably never see any other bots from Animated. Most of their designs proved quite interesting. That's pretty much exactly what I'm expecting to come from the third. Plus Galvatron, and such. Either that, or they could take another slightly obscure comic character, and make him the main threat, just like ROTF. (Jhiaxus anyone? ) Also, one last thing I'd like to take from the movie conversation deal. I've seen mentions of Beast Wars and Animated being the high points of Transformers storytelling in a not completely cheesy way. While I generally agree, I thought it'd also be worth mentioning some of the many comic series' as other examples of slightly darker, and heavier TF stories. Specifically I'll mention the original Marvel G1 run, and the recent IDW G1 revamp that consists of Infiltration, All Hail Megatron, and many other short series'.
