[WIP] 6x6 Offroad Truck
Technyk32231 replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Are you sure that those CV joints won't break? It may be stronger to use universal joints with an extending driveshaft. This does look very nice so far though. -

Oooh, nice. :) Are you sure you won't ever damage those 9L links? -
[WIP] Suzuki Samurai

Sorry to self promote, but I think that these front hubs would work better. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=526963 Anyway, are you going to use leaf springs, as in the original Samurai? I think you could get it to work well.- 18 replies

Would it be possible to make a ball joint rod end with threads that could be screwed into a standoff, so you could make some longer links? -

[HELP] Articulated Steering 8x8 Rolligon

Instead of linear actuators, if you aren't a purist, you could use Efferman's custom "worm gear counterpart". -

I love how realistic it is at this scale. It looks like a lot of fun to drive! You know, you should also build the AMG 6x6 and see how it compares to its "big brother". -

Very nice. However, I would suggest that you try to move the steering rack up a stud or so. -
12 stud wide driven, steered, and pendular suspension ?

Those front hubs are rear 42000 hubs. If you look closely, you'll see that it has 2 pin holes exactly as in the 42000 hub, and the front wheels look to be connected with a 3 pin hub, suggesting the use of 42000 wheel hubs. Oh, and it looks like the rear is using Unimog portal hubs. -

Trial Tatra Suspension Idea
Technyk32231 replied to izorn's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks good, except that the steering pivot is too far from the wheel. Real Tatras have a swing axle pivot in the center.
