On a serious note I do hope to see more Chima tribes, if only to increase figure customization options. I don't really know or care for the Chima story but all the figures are nicely designed.

I own this set, I bought it when "The Force Unleashed" seemed to be very cool. However there are some notable flaws, for one the cockpit is too small being able to only carry one person at a time! I guess Juno must fly while Galen is strapped to the hood or something... Oddly enough, this is the only set I own which has Darth Vader in it! Imagine trying to come up for an excuse as to why Darth Vader is battle damaged every time he shows up. To bad The Force Unleashed 2 killed the franchise or else we might have seen Lego redo this vehicle in the future. Also, on the dust thing. I store all my sets in a closet with no vents, and that has kept the dust low. Give your set a good clean up and then put in a closet to keep it clean.

I like that idea. However I wonder how much longer we will be seeing an influx of Western MOCs, since MOCS tend to be connected to themes, the current theme is Lone Ranger, Lone Ranger is connected to the fate of the movie; and so far the movie's box office is not looking pretty. Here is hoping TLC makes their own western theme someday soon!

I like were this is going. The Red Devil is an interesting choice for a model to, seeing it is one of the few "Advanced Steam" locomotives to be made. Good luck as you finish the model.

Sorry to dig this old topic up again, but I recently visited Heber were I overheard some of the rail workers telling guests about the "music video we filmed, which somebody made a Lego train out off!" It seems the Heber Valley Railroad admires your work.

Wow that is a beautiful train. It looks ready to start steaming down a train line. It does the original train and Sava's model justice.. I might have to try MLCad sometime, since I am starting to get fed up with LDD.

Oops, I meant "nationalization". Anyway, I own that 15 year old collection book Zephyr mentioned, the only issue is that it only has the original Awdry stories and not his son's books. I forgot to mention the art in the latter books is amazing.

I am not that great of a MOC builder, but I can say this: find photos of the prototype. Right now your ship looks like a cross between the various versions of the NCC-1701, although I see the 2008 reboot ship in the model the most. If you can find some photos of the Enterprise you want to build; you can use it to find details and shapes to add to the model. I do love the deflector dish on the model, that round bit of trans blue contrasting with the white really draws the eye in. This looks like a promising start to a great model.

I have just bought the Extreme Trains DVD set and have enjoyed revisiting the series. When I was a little boy I used to love watching Thomas the Tank Engine /Shining Time Station. I have not watched the show in a long time, however I regularly revisit the original Railway Series books, I am surprised how the Rev. Awdry pushed for so much detail in the books; and I like to think of the later books in the series as a subliminal political rant against nationalism. Now back to film; I also own a boxed set titled America by Rail, however all the segments are rather boring; although the Colorado segment is actually interesting and served as the inspiration for my trip to Durango CO last year. I also once watched a PBS documentary on the Oriental Express. The title escapes me at the moment but I thought it was interesting.

I have been an Xbox user since the first big fat box came out back in the day, and I will probably chase the Xbox One to feed my inner Halo fanboy. I also enjoy the thought of the Xbox One as a replacement for television services and disc players along with being a video game console. However it will be at least two years before I get the chance to buy one, so hopefully any launch bugs will be ironed out by then. Now does this mean I hate the PS4? No, in fact I see it as being more consumer friendly than the Xbox One is presenting itself as right now. If I was a rich man I would buy both an Xbox One and a PS4. On that note, this console wars stuff has been blown out of proportion. I hate watching Sony fanboys and Microsoft fanboys bashing it out over the web right now. Video game consoles are consumer products, not life or death choices. If all my friends currently with a Xbox 360, sold it and bought a PS4 it would not change my perception of them the least. It is just a plastic box. Besides, the only consumer product war worth fighting is Lego vs. Megablocks!

So my funny story here. While buying several of the Lone Ranger sets from Shop at Home I signed up for the Lego VIP program. However, I soon realized what I though the VIP program was is not what it actually is. When I first heard of the program I believed VIP points worked like a form of alternative currency. So when I saw catalog pages saying "This set is X VIP points" I believed that is how many points it cost to buy the set. As such, I was under the belief VIP points were a half of deal; buy a set of one value, get another of equal value for free! That is not the case, instead it turned out every 100 VIP points equaled $5.00 USD, a 5% deal and not a %50. Still a nice discount but not as great as the one I imagined! So has anybody else been confused by the VIP program before? Kinda hoping I am not the only one who drastically misunderstood the program.

Yesterday I joined Flickr. I was excited, knowing their is a large FOL group their. I also wanted to use it to share some of my other photo hobbies such as my train pictures, life photos, vacations and maybe some of my cartoons; connecting them to audiences across the web. I found the site was fast, and quick to learn, and despite the recent redesign I was able to use it well. However my experience was soiled when I read over the safety and content settings. I was shocked to realize that Flickr plays host to graphic photos I would not want to see. I debated if Flickr's "Safe Mode" would protect me from those photos or not. I eventually decided to delete my account, since I do not want to be affiliated with a website which hosts such images. I feel my perception of Yahoo is tainted, and surprised they would allow such photos on a popular site as Flickr. However I am sad that my only way to connect my MOC's to the FOL community is through the aging Brickshelf and MOCpages. I am curious as to if any other FOL's have found sites similar to Flickr which don't host graphic content. I also wonder if anybody else has had issue with Flickr's allowance of graphic content, or if I am the lone person who is concerned about it. I have also heard many FOL's expressing their desire for a FOL dedicated photo sharing website with capabilities similar to Flickr, and I wonder if that would be a solution to my problems.

Thanks for your advice. I decided that I will go the tender route with the Power Functions. First I did a test with a medium motor and the gear combo I wanted, only to realize the M-motor could not carry the loads I wanted. Second I found some side photos of the engine, which showed the tender is about half the length of the engine, big enough to hold all the Power Functions I need. So tender it is! Thanks. I have been busy this week, but hopefully I can find the free time to work on the build soon. I will keep Eurobricks updated as the build progresses.

I would like a new Xbox, however I will not be able to buy it for several years, and then I am not sure if I would spend the money on it when my 360 still runs just fine! However as to if the Xbox One, Wii U, or PS4 will win the console wars; I don't care. They all are unique systems with their own special qualities. There is also a sort of karma to the video game industry, I have long accepted that I an Xbox fan would want to play Uncharted, and that their are PS fans who want to join me in Halo; at the end of the day we are all in the same boat. Besides, us AFOL's know the only real consumer product war worth fighting is the one between Lego and Mega Blocks, who cares who wins the console wars?

When Clone Wars was cancelled and Lucasfilm said they were working on a new series, I thought to myself, "What if the new series is about Rebels in the Original Trilogy. That would be cool." And then this Star Wars Rebels was announced... Disney does make dreams come true.

I have not done much since my first post, although my pilot is set up now as I wanted it. I also put the face plate on a temporary build to gauge the dimensions of the finished build. While I have not set up pistons yet, I am considering using Technic braces as the pistons, similar to many AFOL builds I have seen online (particularly those of SavaTheAggie). For PF I am debating two options, my preferred option would be to place a medium motor in the boiler, and then torque through gears in the firebox. I want to test this configuration in real life using before I use it in LDD. The other, and more simpler option would be to slam all the PF in the tender with a standard PF train motor on the bottom. However I don't like that the tender would be thrown out of scale if it used a PF motor on it. Thanks for the advice so far, hopefully I can get more done on it soon.

Wow I love seeing a street running Tramway in Lego. My hometown had a street running freight railroad which unfortunately closed years before I was born, I wonder every now and then if I could recapture the magic of a street runner in Lego. Seeing this MOC is making me think of the possibilities.

That actually looks kinda cool. I think it would be interesting to see AFOL's make grown up versions of Rainbow Warriors, you could make a space theme faction out of it.

I like the preview for Agents of Shield, pity I probably will not be able to see it until late 2015. Besides don't all comic books have strange back from the dead stories anyway? As the internet says, "No one stays dead except Uncle Ben." Maybe Coulson is the start of that tradition in the MCU... Now as to the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, without spoiling the film I will say I like what they did. However I am not a comic book reader so I know very little about the comic Mandarin except what I skimmed from Wikipedia. However I am wondering what movie Lego watched when they designed their sets, 2 of them don't look much like anything in the film!
