Wow what a fantastic model of one of my favorite OT ships ! I love how you've captured the shape and depth of the body of the A Wing. The engine details at the rear are great, and the 'split' in the nose looks very good. I like the curved slope up from the split to the canopy

Ah, my mistake. I was looking at the hinge and seeing something completely different. That concave rear section is very hard to capture in this scale. Still looks cool though I'm almost tempted to re-shorten the pylons on mine to this width again...I blew almost all my light grey cheese wedges trying to 'round off' the pylons ! I love this set, got it a year or so ago. I've just recently modded the cockpit and the gunpods to be more detailed ( and got rid of the wretched flick fires)

My attempt to make the Tydirium Shuttle 75094 a bit more slick
miles teg replied to Schwizzle's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is good, I've been wanting to tile my 75094 since I built her ! And not too expensive either -
That looks very nice, I wish I had the tie prototype so I could use those parts! I modded my own 9492 a couple of months ago as I also wasn't keen on the 'out of the box' look. I made the pylons wider by a couple of studs and changed th bubble shape as much as I could with the parts I had, but I'm still not happy with it. Think I'm going to shorten the pylons by 1 stud and revisit the bubble. Do you have any shots of the rear ? It looks Like you have added a viewport ?

[REVIEW] 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium
miles teg replied to Bricks Planet's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Of course 10212 is 'far better', it's UCS. But for those who can't find / afford 10212 then I think 75094 is a great set. I have it as I could never justify buying 10212 and I'm very impressed. For a minifigs scale set Lego have done a great job of an iconic OT ship- 10 replies

I disagree, the New shuttle Tydirium is a great set of a classic star wars vessel. It's a cool build with some good minifigs too -
Would you mind If I asked where from ?

Is Millenium Falcon 7965 still the one to get?
miles teg replied to grevens's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes I modded the mandibles too, actually made them a couple studs longer, 1 stud wider at the 'tip' and improved the angle which they meet the hull so that the shape flows better. I had to move the cockpit back which caused a few headaches! -

Well here in the UK I'm seeing 7695 in the shops for £130 - £140. Although not many places have it around here anymore. I picked mine up, along with 8097 Slave 1 from the same eBay seller, for £75 without boxes but complete. I've since modded mine to make it a lot more detailed -

Hi, I was drawn back into Lego like you, by my son collecting Clone Wars sets. I only collect OT sets because I'm from that era and I have 7965 Falcon and I say if you have a chance to pick it up for half retail then grab it ! It's a great set, and I've also modded mine to capture more details. Any future falcon may be great sets but they will be 'Force Awakens' Falcon and not OT. I say go for it if the price is right -
Just gave in and blew a wad on the Imperial Shuttle Tyderium ! My son and I are going to build it tonight

I can't promise they'll be to everyone's taste but I think it looks 'rounder' and the wing struts look nicer too Like I said though, I have to figure how to post them from my phone! Do I need to post them to another site and paste the link here?

Any chance of a picture review of these sets? I'm torn between which to buy first!

I've recently modded my 75003 A wing (New gun pods and cockpit), my 9492 Tie Fighter ( better, more accurate overall shape, New cockpit interior) and my 7965 Falcon ( improved mandibles, more detail/greebling, moved cockpit back, changed look of engine ). I was a bit bored by their 'out of the box' design, the Tie especially bothered me. I had a few issues trying to move the Falcons cockpit but I'm happy with the results. I just ran out of spare elements so the six rear engine ports and the quad lasers will have to wait. Now I just need to figure out how to post photos from my android phone and I can show them !

Er, my son picked up the Wookie gunship. It's a nice build and a fair size when finished. Bit like a midi size 're skinned republic gunship. Sorry about the random post, I needed to get to the 'most recent' page without having to trawl through 5 yrs of posts!

Ahh, you assume much young Jedi *evil Emperor voice*... in my house, I AM the deadly Dad ray. Lol. Seriously though, the Tyderium wouldn't be swooshed much. She'd be built and displayed with my other OT sets (yes I'm from that generation). My Son does all the swooshing with his sets. I was only interested in the ships and not the minifigs for a long time but I'm slowly collecting more OT characters and the Emperor and Vader figs in the final duel look very nice -

Ok, I'm trying to decide between the Tyderium and the death star final duel set. I was set on getting the shuttle, but then I made the mistake of picking up the box for the final duel set in my local toy store and felt the weight, and the minifigs look so much nicer. Now I'm not sure which one I want more first! I can't find any decent reviews of either set so any pros and cons from you guys? -

Does anybody know of any good and non parts intensive mods for the cockpit area of 7965 Falcon ? I'm modding mine to give it the detail / dimensions of a ucs but without having to completely rebuild it. I've done the rear engine, front mandibles and top quad cannon but I'm stuck for ideas and running short of parts for the cockpit ! I'm not bothered about keeping a usable interior as I'm detailing it up as a display piece. Edit: I don't mean the cockpit itself, I mean the way it connects to the main hull of the ship, and the 'spine' that runs from it up to the central ring. How do I get thdose to look right by the 'real' falcon ?! -

It also happened that the plate that the 'engine' is built on is a 4x6 black plate in the manual, but after searching for the part and cross referencing the parts list, I realised I had to use a 4x6 dark grey plate there? And I had a 2x12 stud long plate as part of the bottom sub structure instead of a 2x10 long plate (this is underneath the 'engine' area, on the bottom of the ship....2 on each side and this one at the rear) Apart from the confusion these have caused, I'm enjoying the build so far! -

It appears to be a printing error in my manual...certain parts are one color on one page and a different color on the next. Dark bley becomes black. And vice versa. Anybody else had this? -

I've just started to build 7965 Falcon. I purchased it along with 8097 slave 1 from eBay. Both used but like new. Now, can anybody tell me...is there a known printing error with the instructions for this set ? Or has there been a parts revision somewhere along the line that was not corrected for in the instructions ? I've come across some parts that do not match what is shown in the manual. Dark Bley instead of black / light bley instead of dark, that kind of thing. Its only a few parts but it's driving me mad ! Can anybody help me out? -
I do think that I'm going to try to mod up a better cockpit with my limited spare parts, and it would be nice to remove the dumb missile rack and kit out a crew space instead. The canopy doesn't bother me as it'll be displayed rather than played.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I've recently received this set from eBay. My Son and I built it last night and we both love it ! What a great rendition of a classic OT ship. Some nice parts, a build that didn't get boring ( for the 500 odd parts that it was) and it is a lot bigger than we expected. It has been given pride of place on my display shelf ! I understand a lot of people don't like the color scheme, and maybe sand Brown instead of dark red would have softened it, but I think it looks very nice...just consider it a 'new' paint job. All in all, it was well worth the £35 that I spent on it ! I'm tempted to do a review with some pics when I have time? Now we just need to build the 7965 Falcon that we bought at the same time!!

SONE Freebuild 3: Ambush on Kashyyyk
miles teg replied to Lord Vladivus's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Good job. Those trees look nice with all the random foliage, and I like the simplicity of the rebel shelters. I like how you've done the front end of that speeder bike too...any chance of a close up of the whole bike ?
