    Help with identifying parts/sets!

Ooo, I like these sort of challenges!
  2. After carefully searching through this subforum I am yet to find a single topic about which cartoons and anime you like, apart from the seperate show specific topics that seem to get locked or just slowly die. This thread is for you to post about your favourite cartoons and anime, you can just make a list or you can give them a synopsis or a review, whatever you feel like. Discussion is welcome but no flaming/mean replies if you hate the series, film or OVA or whatever. You can say negative things about a show if you have to but no simply complaining about shows you don't like because it degenerates into personal insults... I hope no one is "upset" by these guidelines but I'd like a nice place where I can discuss some 'toons I like and maybe find some who are familiar with the them, you can discuss MOCs you'd like to make from the series, characters you want to make custom figures of, anything as long as it is civil. So, after that: I like Robotech, X-Men, Ruby Gloom, Storm Hawks, Batman Brave and the Bold, Astro Boy, Macross, most anything by Studio Ghibli and lots of others I can't list. So yeah, post etc, enjoy.

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

A 3-5 is Megablocks or possibly Kreo (There were Kreo DnD sets but Megablocks has had dragons for a long time, it could go in either.) Not sure about the shovel, could be playmobile. A 6 is certainly Megablocks fencing. B 1-2 looks like Megablocks B 3 is a Megablocks cone. B 4 - Could be K'nex, could be Mega B 6 I have also seen similar in some hand-me-down bricks in an 80s collection. So they might be Playmobile of the era or some other small toy accessory C 1 - More angles please? It could be vintage LEGO, it could not be. C 3 - Megablocks hinge part C 4 - Playmobile pistol C 6 Megablocks Dragons weapon, I have some in my collection (I love to collect cool weapons for figures) D 4 Megablocks clip The other weapons look like they could be playmobile also, minifigures have a problem holding them as the dimensions of the hands are different, so that is a slight test. If they are too big for a minifig hand then you have Playmobile, if a figure can hold it or hold it a little loosely, the part is from a competitor building brand. BTW, love that wooden sword and the dagger!

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

The image is a little small, if it has been uploaded on the forum I must advise you try uploading to an image site and then link it here. The size means I can't make out much detail, but: Top figure has a Magneto helmet. The figure with antenna is Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy. Then General Zod. The yellow fig is a generic criminal from city and the last is some form of Star Wars trooper with no helmet.

    Is there a 'medieval-punk?'

Magi-tech or Technomancy is the term used for fantastical settings that uses a Castle era with Technology in fiction. Years ago I dabbled in the idea: (link to albums on pics) Of course, those are just a personal choice of what to use. These were pure fantasy, so there was no demands for realism of material (strength, scarcity, etc), I just made sure to keep the aesthetic away from the Steampunk markers (chimney stacks, gears, a lot of copper/brass). Also, these days there are a lot of small parts for making the connections I used in these (Back then there were only bars, bar clips, telescopes and lightsaber hilts!) in shades that are less metal and more natural wood colours.

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

Magnhildr inclined their head to the prophet. "I am Magnhildr. You are a map maker? Do you know the labyrinth?"

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

Magnhildr shook their head. "There is one battle leader, young one." Taking a battle stance with their naginata. Attack MONAD, front row, Naginata.

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

"Welp, still your tongue." Magnhilder shook their head, those so few in decades were so idealistic despite the world as it was. "We do not fight for the sake of fighting, we do not want to fight but you can see, a fight will often come." "Sam, your direction? This sorcerer is powerful." Magnhilder was ready to strike.

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

"It is no want to fight. It is a need to protect."
  11. Excuse my enthusiasm but I have decided that what I really want to do is talk about my absolute favourite LEGO Elements. I also want to see what parts you like and why. There are thousands upon thousands of parts out there, from big to tiny. There are no right or wrong reasons to like elements, nor do they have to be "worthy" reasons to enjoy them. I just want to spread some positive vibes. Now to bore you all with my favourites The pointed wedge. Especially in this metallic colour. They look great, they have sharp lines that look excellent in contrast to the flatter planes of the older wedge/slopes, or the curves of the alternate types. I stick them on spaceships, I put them on aircraft and I work them in to racing cars. Very basic plant/leaf. I have this and the larger version in many colours and will spend hours creating foliage. Trees, climbing plants or just some very overgrown spaces are some of my favourite things to just build; never with any goal in mind more often than not. I have not shared many of those creations as they are never a complete MOC. However, I always chase the ideal of a natural looking plant, or an alien but still recognisable arboreal build. Tail, Rounded Top - The airplane tail from my childhood. I had Baron Von Baron's Bi-Wing plane and have loved planes since I was a small child, so MOCs of planes have long featured in my creative history. This tail, either plain or the printed versions, was used in many a creation that spent an afternoon swooshing around my bedroom and the house. Favourite printed map, hands down. Maybe I will add more later. but these are the top picks. Anyone want to join in?
  12. Figbarf, Magnhildr the Wanderer. Put this character together for another bash at the Heroica RPG quest being run in the games section. Parts: Ninjago Hair, Widowmaker Head, Kraven The Hunter collar, Fabric cape from Star Wars, Torso is a Rebel/Resistance. Weapon from Ninjago, Black utility belt. Legs are TLM2 Wyldstyle. Character: "Little is known about Magnhildr; "she" has been recorded by the tribes for centuries, wandering in and out of settlements with useful items to trade - food, hides, tools and scrap the people could use traded for entertaining trinkets. A barbarian by necessity, the icy wastelands are a dangerous place. Those who have simply encountered her have been scared off by the stern looking figure. However, the families she has traded with for generations know a different side of the Etherian they call Mags. A person who loves the fractals of the ice she wanders through and has been known to swap a valuable item for a child's drawing." With Theme Music! More MOCs for this figure will be coming, the little backdrop is a go at something Techno-Magical. Thanks for taking a look!

Hoots! Gloryhammer, ready for Epic Battles

Man, this is super awesome! Thanks for sharing it with me, you should totally put a post in Brick Flicks too. Amazing work
  14. Hoots! Gloryhammer aren't visiting the mighty land of Cymru, but I have created some little plastic version to make up for it. If you were not aware, Gloryhammer are a metal band. Their latest album Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards has been pretty much on repeat in my Car. Being a little bored and thinking that the promo shot: Had a number of elements that matched well with LEGO I in fact owned... I couldn't resist! The castle in the background is Caerphilly Castle, I visted there today with my sister and her friends, but it has long been a favourite of the family to visit. I thought it would make a pretty epic backdrop. Hope you enjoy these figs!

    Server Maintenance

Maintenance work is scheduled for the Eurobricks servers host system on Tue 13/Oct/2020, between 2200h and 0900h (CEST) the next day. That is 2100h to 0800h GMT or 1600h to 0800h Eastern. The host system - and therefore our server as well - will be restarted multiple times during the maintenance window. The hosts are aiming at keeping the downtimes as short as possible. When EB is down for maintenance you can take a look at our Facebook and Instagram

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

"Spells Plague the Lands." Magnhildr spoke aloud. "We came here to put a stop to that. We find you and many dead. We will interfere if it heals these lands."
  17. Peppermint_M

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

"Our enemy, so it seems." Magnhildr had their weapon ready for any foe. "This is a Necromancer- Watch for the dead, they will awaken again to fight."
  18. And your post is polite, accurate and part of the discussion. The "tone" of a post is important.
  19. Sure, ignore the part where I ask you to take the behaviour elsewhere. Sure, different POV is fine, but unrelenting negativity is not an asset to any community.
  20. So why did you feel the need to come in and be an arse about it? Add something to the conversation; scathing rhetoric against the OP is more suited to other locations than Eurobricks. Another case of a member who should know a great deal better doing exactly opposite.

H20: 1: The Mystery of the Maze

Magnhildr shook their head, the frantic bird was flapping around and the magic of the area was making a feeling of badness inside.

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

If it doesn't have LEGO as part of the plastic moulding, then it is a fake. None of the bootleg brands will put the actual LEGO name on the parts, as that would be a real legal problem.

    Absolutely the BEST Elements

This is invaluable to so many of my builds that I had to add it to the list here. If I could get a 1kg bag of them, that would be excellent. These sort of parts are always helpful, I can't think of any serious MOC I have created that did not have a lot of these in use, even my smaller builds might have at least one popped in there.

H20: Fantasy's Back on the Menu!

Ninjago is a great source of fun fantasy parts. The latest sets are an actual dungeon game too.

H20: Fantasy's Back on the Menu!

I have my first week off since last year. (The perils of being a multi-skilled Key Worker in a Health Service Related job during the covid times. From micro IT support to free up the actual IT guys, to driving the fork-truck. It has been a non-stop 6 months!) So I want to get really building again.
