25 Years of Adventure Contest Winners

Honestly? Can TLG pick up on those designs and make us a GWP Adventurers set (at the very least, please thanks.) Loved all the entries from everyone, it all tells me that this contest was worth the effort.

    LEGO Insiders Treasure Hunt

I will have a muddle about, I am not too concerned as it is all a bit of fun in the end (I am enjoying 20 VIP points a pop from scanning my instructions, a lot more!) I honestly was looking to catch a meme-able moment as I had heard that it was mucking up on a few bricks and saying "Not LEGO system bricks" and I have a handful of Billund Moulding printed bricks that would have been a real laugh out loud moment.

    [MOC] One Way Out

Pro tip Have you planned in where/how the lights run through? It is an extensive nightmare to light a MOC after the fact, hence why I am not one for a lot of lights. I did spot a potential access panel so maybe I am sharing a useless tip! Can't comment on source material, but Sister and Bro in law like it when they saw it so bravo!

Right. That had never worked for me. I get a successful code but no redeem button... Time to try looking again.
  5. Discussion of the 2023 sets can continue here. If anyone has posts they would like moved over, please bring them to my attention.
  6. Adventurers. The theme that brought us the man, myth, minifig Johnny Thunder and his fellow explorers and treasure seekers; friend and foe alike, has reached is 25th year. A Silver Jubilee. To celebrate this cornerstone theme of Action and Adventure a major contest has arrived. There are three exciting categories to this contest and you can enter all three right up until the closing date on the 18th of August at midnight GMT, members who have joined even minutes ahead of the deadline are welcome to enter. Category A - Great Adventure: Build an adventure on a maximum 48x48 footprint. This can be an epic rebuild of an old set, a new location in a past adventure or a whole new challenge for Johnny Thunder and friends. Treasures, rivals, monsters and ruins; even after 25 years, the Adventurers are ready! While original figures or the obvious callback minifigs from more recent themes are not necessary, the figures at least have to be recognisable as Johnny Thunder and co. The prize up for Grabs is 150 Euro to spend on LEGO sets on the LEGO online shop. Category B - From the office of...: On a maximum footprint of 32x32 create the home work environment of the classic Johnny Thunder characters. From Doctor Charles Lightning's study to the Library at Sinister Mansion, everyone has a space to prepare for future adventure. As with the main category, the figures have to be recognisable as the Adventurer characters as best as possible. The prize up for Grabs is 100 Euro to spend on LEGO sets on the LEGO online shop. Category C - Ride to Adventure: Some form of vehicle for an adventurer. From All terrain truck to Dog Sled, an adventurer has to get to their goal. This one allows for Digital Entries and figures that don't have to be Adventurer theme characters. The prize up for Grabs is 50 Euro to spend on LEGO sets on the LEGO online shop Rules - No clone brands but custom figure parts/prints are acceptable. Digital entries are only accepted for the Ride to Adventure category. This must be a new MOC or otherwise significantly different to previously posted builds- For example, a nice statue build already shared can form an element of the new MOC, likewise a desk/bookshelf design. As long as it is not the main or largest part of the contest entry, recycling is allowed within reason. If a vehicle is present as part of the larger categories, it cannot be entered into the Ride to Adventure category. The Great Adventure and From the Office of builds do not have to be assembled onto a baseplate, but must demonstrably be within the stipulated footprint. A scale shot has to be included extra to the entry photos that shows the footprint (ruler, plates, outline. Anything that can be used to prove the MOC sits within the required footprint for the category). Reasonable overhang is limited to incidental points no more than 4 studs over the boundary. A tree branch, flagpole or other small features. Hight limit can be defined if it must, but for now it simply has to be a stable build that does not topple. Entries are to be posted in their own thread with up to three photos to showcase the MOC, not inclusive of the scale photo if required. Further photos can be shared in the MOC thread, indicated to be extra to the chosen entry pictures. A link for the thread must then be shared in the respective Category threads in order to be considered for the contest. Entries posted until 0:00 on 18/08/2023 will be eligible to enter. Any further questions can be asked in this thread and if pertinent will be added below this line. Category A Entry Thread Category B Entry Thread Category C Entry Thread

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

You should see an option on the top right of the post you wish to share. There is a Share icon, Tap that and you can copy the web link to the exact post, pasting it into a new post in this thread. Just let me know if the post you link is an individual that needs to move, or if it is the start point of what should be split off the 2023 thread and put here. I can take posts in bulk or as individuals. If the post is a bit of both 23 and 24, try using MulitQuote (the black + on a post) and when you return to this thread, you have a pop-up in the corner allowing you to quote post(s) in a reply on this thread. Hope all this helps!

Hmm. Not sure what is going wrong then. I have no points showing, or any other indication that the gold brick code has resulted in anything at all.

    What are you listening to?

I love this group. So dramatic, much metal. Wow. If you like Metal or Opera, give it a go.

    Which Comic Do You Read?

Got back into Manga of late, I wasn't finding anything that interested me, beyond my Legend of Zelda manga until I noticed Atom: The Beginning on the shelf in Waterstone's. A remixed version of Astro Boy/Mighty Atom and so far really cool SciFi with slice of life trappings. On the comic front, Robotech is having a resurgence through Titan comics and what has been published so far is really good. It is not great that Robotech Remix has been probably cancelled, but the Rick Hunter series is looking promising.

    Those damn renders

Welcome to Adult LEGO fandom OP. I don't really think anyone will be seriously misled by a few missing antistuds on a render. Certainly, this would not stand up in court in any form of class action (the true indicator of misled consumers). Now, a whole extra feature or character missing would be misleading, or a picture that included the vault GWP without making it clear that it's a whole extra set.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Alright. The discussion can get back to modular buildings please. Bigotry isn't welcome, you are entitled to an opinion on matters, but do not broadcast them here. A warning to all: Speak hateful things and you will be shown the door.

Sorry, these votes cannot be counted, you joined after Monday 21st when voting launched. Sorry if that was unclear in the rules for this voting thread, however it is a rule placed to prevent false voting by duplicate accounts. To reassure everyone: These votes would not have caused any change to who won, and was only a small change to the total points the winner gained.

    Are classic themes dead ?

In addition to MAB's wise words, as a longtime moderator on a forum: communities seldom like it when someone comes in to bash what they like and use vulgar language to do so. Repeatedly. Positive input results in positive responses. On topic: What qualifications make a set Classic? I would love a reissue of the Res-Q hovercraft, would that count?

    Are classic themes dead ?

How about LEGO goes ultra classic: A big box of red and white basic bricks with a few windows and doors thrown in? Being real here, Change or die is the thing in business. I think getting the odd throwback set is pretty fun. However, we are hitting a point where the original Star Wars sets and we are not far from the first Batman sets qualifying for "Classic" and that is a reminder of he inevitable march of time...
