  1. Here's a thought: You're going through your LEGO collection and you come across a piece that was from one of your old childhood sets that you luckily kept. For a bit of nostalgia, you decide to re-build the set. You head on over to Peeron/BrickLink for the part inventory and start scavenging your collection for the parts. As your digging through your collection, you start finding pieces that clearly were from the original set. It's obvious this was a childhood piece; it still has all your teeth marks from prying it off that one stubborn brick and all the scratches from when you drove the car it was built in down the stairs. You look around and you find the exact same piece that came from a new set you bought the other day; all nice and shiny and ready to be a part of something great. Now you have the dilemma on your hands of whether you should keep the set in its original form or restore it to look like new. What would/do/did you do in this situation?
  2. Hello. I am looking to sell the majority of my LEGO collection consisting of ~15000 pieces. Instead of offering the entire thing in one go, I decided to sort the collection by part category and offer them individually. PICTURES AND PRICES HERE: http://imgur.com/a/5bqSp (WARNING: 35 photos) If it's listed here, it's still available. Please see the description under each photo for what part type it is for, total weight of parts in lot, and my ASKING price. Parts: Parts are sorted via part type (as determined via BrickLink). As there were many parts to sort through there may be random stragglers in larger lots, but otherwise what you see for part selection is what you get. Parts are from the mid 90s to mid 2010s. Part Quality: Quality of parts range from good to excellent condition and are all used. Most parts will be very good in that they may have minor signs of use but still look pretty good. Note this collection was built with some bulk lots over the years, and unfortunitally that includes some kid-owned ones. While I have removed any heavily damaged parts, there are still some that are a bit "well loved" and would be better suited for internal structure instead of show-builds. I estimate around 10% of the parts (mainly in the brick/plate type lots) will fall in this category. There are also parts here that date back to the 90s, so some older light gray and white parts may be a little discolored. Prices/Payment: Prices listed are my asking price. I am open to reasonable offers and negotiation, mainly if taking multiple lots. Payment is requested via PayPal, I will be shipping to the address associated with the account. I'm looking to sell and not trade, but I MIGHT be tempted by 9V train sets. Shipping: Shipping will be via USPS or Fedex. Generally lighter items will be USPS First Class and heavier ones Fedex Ground. I can ship outside the US, but must be for lighter lots as it gets really expensive past 4 pounds. Actual shipping cost will be charged as estimated from USPS/Fedex's websites. If interested in anything, please send me a PM along with your zip code/country so I can estimate shipping . Thank you for looking and have a nice day.

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

Hey guys, need helping identifying this. It came in a large lot of random parts, mostly 2010s-modern. I could find the main part it is, 10312 canopy, but it's only listed as being available in light orange.
  5. Still available. Should only be $10-20 to ship within the US.
  6. Hi. I'm cleaning out some stuff and found a lot of my older LEGO magazines. They are taking up space, so they are free to a good home. All I ask for is shipping cost (USPS Media Mail for cheapest price) and you have to take everything, I'm not splitting it up. LEGO Mania Magazines 2001-2003 Shop at Home Magazines 2001-2003 and 2015-present I'll also include 2 LEGO books, The World of LEGO Toys from 1987 and Brick by Brick from 2013. Picture Here (all the Mania and older SaH magazines are doubled, they are back-to-back in each protector page) Please PM me if interested. Thank you.

  8. Hi. I have 2 empty LEGO buckets (from sets 4103 and 4115) and a plastic carrying case I no longer need and would like to give away. Just pay shipping and they are all yours (must take all 3 items). I'm in the US, so keep in mind it may get pricey if you are outside the country. If interested please PM me.
  9. Lego Technic set 8428 Concept Car had four alternate models that could be built. However, only instructions for one of them were included in the physical instruction book, the others were on the CD included with the set. Due to the age of the CD (and the fact that 8432 didn't include it) the instructions are hard to come across for the other three alternate models. For those of you who are interested in creating the alternate models, I have uploaded the instructions from two of the three alternates to my Brickshelf account. Clicking on the following images will take you to their respective gallery where the instructions can be found. Model 1 (NOTE: Instructions not available yet) Model 2 Model 3

    Bullfrog SNOT

I've been doing some test runs with a train I am working on, pulling 5 kinda heavy cars. While it seems to run fine on straightaways, when it hits a curve, it slows to a crawl and stops with the wheels spinning like crazy. The driving wheels are 4 Big Ben Bricks XL wheels, being powered by a geared down Power Function Large motor. I've tried putting regular rubberbands on the wheels and it slightly helped, but they just slip off and don't quite give it the traction needed. There isn't much room in the space above the wheels to add weights due to some wacky SNOT work and the motor/gearing sitting there. I came across this thing called Bullfrog Snot. Has anyone tried it on LEGO trains? It looks like it might do the trick to get this thing running, but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it before I drop $20-30 on this small jar of goop.
  15. Hello. I am looking to sell my wooden LEGO train car. This train car is from ~1945. over 70 years old! It originally came with a train set like this. For it's age, it's in pretty good condition. It is missing the wooden posts, along with three of the wheels. There is a minor chip in the bottom, and the wheels are a little rough. What remains though is in very good shape, especially the paint. Photos: here, here, and here. I am currently looking to get $60 for it. This includes USPS Priority shipping within the US. Shipping outside the US available for additional charge (USPS small Flat-Rate box). Open to reasonable offers. Feedback available on eBay and BrickLink.

Anyone know what torso this is? Can't find it on BrickLink, even after searching for red torsos.
  18. Hi. I was doing some organizing of my LEGO collection and came across 4 of these sport field sections I have no use for. They are free to first person to claim them, just pay shipping ($3 in US, more elsewhere). Please PM me if you are interested.

    Bullfrog SNOT

I do have a bag here of various types of rubberbands I got from the dollar store. The problem I have with them though is they are thick enough to throw the train off tracks when it comes to a curve.
  20. Yoshi648

    Bullfrog SNOT

Yeah this, they float over the rails on curves since (they only have tires becuase that is the only size LEGO wheel that is close enough for the scale of the train and still possible to roll along on the track. They don't have flanges on them to keep them on the track).

    Bullfrog SNOT

I did see the thread here about cutting a small groove into the wheels and using an o-ring, but from what I saw at the local hardware store I didn't see any o-rings that would be suitable, they were all a bit too small (that and I really don't want to risk damaging the wheels while cutting the groove into them). I do have a work in progress image of the loco here from a few months ago (yes it's really wacky, it's from a Mario videogame). The front and rear sets of wheels are pivoted so it can go through turns just fine (even with tighter switching track). The rear wheels are Big Ben Bricks XL flanged wheels, being powered by a geared-down Power Functions large motor (which sits in the cab above the rear wheels). The engine on it's own runs fine, runs alright with three cars, but trying to pull all five cars is when it starts having slippage issues, especially in turns. Like mentioned in the original post I tried regular rubberbands but with not much success.

Yeah, had a feeling it was an obvious common part I forgot about. Looks like the designers probably just forgot to add the stud cutouts. Thanks!

    Help with identifying parts/sets!

Gah, this is confusing. I've been re-creating vehicles from the Wii U game LEGO City Undercover in LEGO Digital Designer so I could make some of them real. Of the few vehicles I have done so far they are all able to be built physically with actual LEGO (wacky colors aside). However I found something I don't know if it is possible: On this car, it has a pointed tip a plate in height between the hood and grill. The only thing I would guess is a pair of 3X2 wedge plates, but that would be 6-wide which isn't possible as the spot is only 4-wide. Are there any other parts that would make this shape possible?

    Lego Island Models

I'm sure many people here have played the PC game Lego Island. For those of you who haven't it was LEGO's first attempt at making a digital game. It was originally released in 1997. The basic idea of the game is you get to pick one of five Lego characters and you get to explore Lego Island. There are things you can do like racing, delivering pizza, driving an amulance/towtruck, etc. While it was a basic game it was still very intertaining. Being a fan of this game I have decided to start a project to re-create all the buildings and vehicles seen in the game. While I don't have the parts (or funds) to make this in reality, I make them digitally. Someday I will make them real. I started this about 3 months ago and am currently working on it as a side-project along with my main one. These is what I have completed so far. Clicking on any image will take you to it's respective MOCPage where you can see alternate views, the original from the game, and even download the completed model in LDRAW. Enjoy I also have created a list on BrickSet of all the sets that make an appearance in the game. Link Edit: 11/15/2009 - After 3 months, I am going to start working on this project again. I have all of the vehicles done (will be uploaded soon) and I just have a few more buildings to go (the Information Center, Bank, Police Station, Pit Stop, and other 4 variants of the first house). Buildings Pizzeria Hospital Post Office Gas Station Super 2 Store House 1A House 1B House 1C House 1D House 1E House 2 House 3 Bleachers (Part of the Race Track) Life Guard Tower Jail Vehicles Ambulance Helicopter Jeep Tow Truck

That's a MegaBlock part, not LEGO.
