I've seen these on eBay for about 2 years now. I've also seen firsthand products of the same manufacturer. The quality is nowhere near Lego and who would ever want the knockoff anyway? It's almost sickening that people will actually try promoting copied Lego products as their own. But there's not a whole lot we can do. All I can say is: don't ever buy these! Not only because we shouldn't support the knockoff, but the quality and craftsmanship is abysmal. Ew.....

I chanced a listen to a radio station one quiet afternoon, and my ears were sent into a fiesta of orgasmic delight. Moments of Brilliance was the band I heard. I say, we should all help out this fellow Lego fan by voting for his excellent band. So if you enjoy the new-fangled musical selections of todays youth, go to www.power97.com and give Moments of Brilliance a vote! Sincerely, The Right Honourable Brigadier General Lord Harworth Pennyfegger XIX of the 328th United Flight Brigade, 4th Duke of Dorchester, Kincardineshire; PhD BSE CRT BA MA RAT CFL - Self-proclaimed King of the Jelly people.

I think they did. But I know that they had the same crew structures since the beginning of Naval exploration. So same kind of dealey. -
Imperial Guards: Bluecoat and redcoat uniforms

In regards to the command structure aboard British Man-of-War, there was a Captain and 3 Lieutenants to the Red-Coat Army aboard each ship. The Captain reported directly to the Admiral who was in command of the entire vessel. Although the divisions between soldiers and sailors were different, and predominantly the sailors were in charge, no one of less authority than the highest ranking officer in command of the ship - be him Captain or Admiral, could tell the Infantry (Red-Coats) what to do. But if it was something really petty, like a Red-Coat Sergeant was not where he was supposed to be, a Commanding Lieutenant (Blue-Jacket) could give him orders because disobediance to any higher ranking Officer no matter where they came from was considered treason and was severely punishable. If what I said makes sense... -
Imperial Guards: Bluecoat and redcoat uniforms

Basically, Lego wanted to give some diversity to the Imperial Navy. Lego knew as good as anyone, that the uniform in the British Navy in the period of colonial expansion (that the Imperials were based on) was the blue that we see associated with the first line of Imperial Soldiers that Lego introduced in 1989. The red uniform we later see with the Imperial Guards line Lego introduced in 1992, was the uniform of the British army. More specifically, ground infantry. Lego mixed it up a bit though - the red were the soldiers. The blue were just sailors. Every ship in the British Royal Navy carried a crew of 'Red-coat' soldiers proportional to the total population on board. In the interest of adding a bit of flair to the Imperial sets, Lego changed all the colours from the blue to the red. They didn't want to give any particular association with any specific nation, so that's why they changed up the colours in the flags and the sails. In any case, all of the Imperial sets, both Soldiers and Guards are my favourite line ever. I use the Red-coat soldiers as soldiers and the Blue-jacket sailors as sailors. But that's just me. I say Lego should create new Imperial and Pirate sets with the same building quality that the sets of the early nineties had. But this time they should include Red-coats as soldiers, Blue-jackets as sailors, and the flags and sails of the Imperial Navy should include some kind of mix of red and blue. Who's with me? -Ashton
