Now wait just a second--! While "Palpatine's Arrest" and "Slave I w/ Cloud City Landing Platform" both lost in the vote, they lost to an amazing set in the "Home One"! Just because two fantastic set ideas lost to an even more fantastic idea does -NOT- mean that they'll never be made! Obviously "Home One" was going to be made first, but clearly LEGO was thinking about the other two sets or they'd not be included in the voting. With ESB's 30th Anniversary in 2010, I would not be surprised to see the Slave I/Cloud City set in the lineup. At all. And while we're making predictions, I give 2-1 odds that either LEGO Batman or LEGO Harry Potter gets revived in 2010 for a couple more sets. We'll see...

That link doesn't seem to work? "Sorry, we are unable to process your request. Please contact customer service for assistance."

Wait, what? We've had loads of tanks in the Star Wars line, why would having one in the Indy line be a problem?

Animator confirms Lego Harry Potter, Lego Indy Crystal Skull games
MaxGoof replied to liquidcross's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I don't think the December 31st, 2009 date on IGN is meant to be an actual release date. I believe they place all games expected to come out before the end of the year but without an official date as being available on the last day of the year until a date is announced. I'm really surprised we haven't heard ANYTHING about Lego Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by now, however. I'd expect that to be released this summer, but it seems unlikely now, since we've yet to even hear official confirmation... -
Off the top of my head, here are some sets that I think either haven't been done or could be vastly, VASTLY improved upon. Just because we've had some of these sets before doesn't mean that the sets themselves are anywhere near as good as they can be, and sets like the Cantina BADLY need to be redone and improved. 1. Cloud City 2. Jabba's Palace 3. Cantina 4. Lars Homestead 5. Mon Calamari Cruiser (outside) 6. Rancor 7. Improved Podrace Set 8. Commando Droids 9. TIE Defender 10. E-Wing 11. Sarlacc Pit 12. Obi-Wan's Delta Starfighter 13. Droid Factory 14. Geonosis Arena 15. Queen Amidala's Starship 16. Wookie Vehicles from Kashyyk 17. Ewok Village

Will these sets really not be out until August? I remember finding several of the January 2009 Indy and Clone Wars sets at Toys R Us around Thanksgiving... do the August sets typically arrive a month or so early as well, or no dice?

When is this set expected to hit retail? June? I wouldn't mind it right now...

I don't really understand why ANYBODY really believe that Lego won't pay for a new license extension? Let's face it, the Star Wars Lego sets are by far, by Far, by FAR the most popular, wanted, anticipated, and best-selling Lego sets! Star Wars is beyond question the most popular Lego theme ever, and if Lego didn't renew that license, their sales would absolutely PLUMMET. Just from watching the ebb and flow of stock at stores, it's pretty easy to see that Lego Star Wars is at LEAST 50% of all Lego sales in America. At least!! Unless LFL expressly refuses a new license, I consider it unthinkable that Lego Star Wars will end in 2011.

I would kill for an E-Wing and TIE Defender, as well as some new, GOOD playsets like Cloud City, Jabba's Palace, and the Cantina. And has there ever been a Dagobah X-Wing? I don't recall...

Grrrr!! Whose idea was it to make the Pirate Tank WITHOUT Jar Jar?! From my recollection, Obi-Wan never fought one of the pirate tanks or was even near one, whereas Jar Jar commandeered one and won the battle with it. I think Jar Jar would give kids a way bigger reason to buy this than another Obi-Wan...

Who are the 3 Ewoks in the Endor Bunker set? Wicket... Chief Chirpa (?)... and... Paploo...?

Does anyone think it's odd that LegoShop@Home doesn't have the Solar Sailer, even though people have been finding it at TRU for close to a month now?
-
Does this tank not come with any stickers so that it can have the Separatist army logo designs on it?
-
I haven't seen anything to indicate that the Clone Wars theme is going away. Since the series is expected to continue for years, I'd imagine the Legos will as well?

I tried to make my first purchase on Bricklink a couple days ago, but the seller won't answer my E-Mails. In fact, he hasn't sold anything on BrickLink in months. I'm afraid he's abandoned the site altogether. I'm not sure what to do. Should I try to buy the set from someone else and assume he's gone for good or what?

I like the Red & White. It'll be a nice change from the mountains of Blue & White on shelves now.

My Wal-Mart in upstate NY finally reset... but with no new 2009 Lego sets. Just an empty aisle. EXCEPT for 3 Assassin Droid Battle Packs and 3 Clone Battle Packs. Are those shipping in the same case, by chance?
-
I live in Upstate NY and have been hunting the 2009 sets to no avail lately. The strange thing is that every store I go to--and I mean *EVERY* store I go to--has a humongous overstock of the V-19 Torrent Starfighter! My local Toys R Us has (and I'm not exaggerating) somewhere between 65 and 75 Torrents on the shelves. It takes up 1/3 of one aisle of Legos, and is the ONLY Star Wars set they have available! Wal-Marts have dozens at 25% off they can't get rid of, Targets have tons at full price sitting in empty aisles waiting for 2009 product... this thing is just EVERYWHERE! What's the story with the Torrent? Is this ship just incredibly unpopular with children? Do collectors hate it? Does the set suck? What exactly makes a set become such a dust-collector, and is this unusual for the Star Wars theme?

I was halfway to ordering the Solar Sailer, but at $50+tax+shipping, I'm gonna wait and get it from Lego Shop, where I bet it'll be $10 cheaper to begin with.

My Gamertag is: DabidK Most-played games are Halo 3, Lego Indy, Lego Batman, and Lego Star Wars. I will be playing a -LOT- of Street Fighter IV and Halo Wars on Live as soon as those are released, as those are what I bought my 360 for.

I would LOVE a vote every year, but doubt that it would happen. Maybe every 2-3 years. Lego hasn't even released the first fan-voted set, and won't until close to the end of this year, so they don't even know if the voting predicts product success yet or anything.

Why wouldn't Lego make Saesee Tiin? He's an important member of the Jedi Council and was fairly prominent in the original Clone Wars cartoon, where he was a general and had a WAY-cool Jedi Starfighter. I'd say he's at least moderately important, and probably ties Aayala Secura as the most important Jedi not to have a Lego figure yet.

I've only been collecting Lego since the fall, so I'm still a newbie. Can someone tell me if Lego Shop at Home does sales often? I know they had a GREAT promotion after Thanksgiving with free shipping and discounts and such, but do they do good sales like that any other time? I know they have a $5 off coupon now, but that doesn't even cover tax on most sets, much less the very high shipping S@H seems to charge... I love S@H, but it doesn't seem very economical...

But I bought that set at the start of December, so isn't it really 2008...?
-
My favorite set in 2008 was the Shanghai Chase! You CAN'T go wrong with Lego Willie, Short Round, Indy in Tux, and YAKUZA!!! My least favorite set... well, I thought the Separatist Spider Droid was pretty lame, didn't anyone else?
