    Brickworld Hotel Room

So I'm registered and paid for as far as the con goes, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in splitting the cost of a room with me? I would just get my own room, but that place is expensive for a 19 year old guy :( Anyway, I was planning on just checking in the 14th or 15th, and out on the 19th or 20th. I know some of you might be wary of rooming with a stranger, but please don't let that stop you!
  2. has not set their status

  3. While reading this topic, I can't help but think you could (if you have the parts) mod CP5670's annihilator to work.
  4. haha that's cool. btw congrats on the find! I got that set for a birthday when it was new and I've never seen it for sale anywhere for less than $150
  5. I haven't done much work with them personally, but they are so tight fitting that I imagine they can only work in VERY large scale models. The only ones I've ever seen are some of nicjasno's cars.
  6. I've never had any major functional problems when building, but being slightly colorblind already, I hate trying to tell DBG apart from black.
  7. i think the key to building large wheels is click hinges

    Little Devil

that's awesome, dude! I wish I had the parts to build my own. One question: what program did you use to make the animation of the drivetrain?

Brickworld 2010 Registration and Brickworld Indy

Hey, if anybody from central MN is going and would be willing to carpool please PM me. I am a student and would love to go down but don't have a car I can pitch in for gas if I can find a ride. Thanks!
  10. Because I'm going to college next fall, my parents don't think I need any more LEGO and I should grow up And the worst part is: because I'm going to college next fall, I have no money to spend on LEGO. I guess I'll have to wait to get more LEGO for about 4 years

You know you are a fan of Lego when...

You're 15 and convince your parents and 9 siblings to take 3 weeks and drive from MN to LEGOland California. You stay up till 2 am to finish a MOC

    X-34 Landspeeder

Here's one of my more recent MOCs: Luke's X-34 landspeeder in Ep. IV I built it after persuading my brother to take his 10124 Wright Flyer off the shelf If anyone wants to comment or give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism please go ahead. Brickshelf folder when public

LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours

one question i haven't seen anyone else ask: why the heck does R2 have a gray dome ?!? I know in the movies it was silver but this just doesn't work for me. It's been white since 1999 - why change it now?
  14. Ras_Al_Ghul

How do you pronounce MOC, AFOL?

I pronounce them mock and a fall. My mom, on the other hand, doesn't play with LEGO; her answer was 'a fool' lol
  15. Reminds me of the old black cat truck

    Supersized Duplo

Here's my latest project - 2:1 scale duplo vehicles. Normally I'm a TECHNIC guy, but I was playing with my little brothers a few days ago and had this idea. I looked it up on BS and Flickr and couldn't find anything similar, so I figured I'd try it. This was the first one I built. The one thing it needs is either some SNOT or a decal with the 'ZOO' thing on the side. This is just a variation on the truck and the chassis is identical. The only problem I saw on all of these is that LEGO doesn't make any parts that would work very good for the hollow Duplo studs, this was the closest I could get. Well, most of this turned out pretty good. Except for the hitch. I'll say it myself: that thing is hideous! I wanted to make some sort of thing that would hook onto the hitches on the cars and this was the best I could do. Overall I'm pretty happy with these MOCs. If anyone has a better idea for the hitch reciever, let me know! Thanks for looking, and May the Force be with you.
  17. did you notice in the credits at the end he had not one but two people credited as "sphere chasing"? lol

    Supersized Duplo

Thanks for the responses guys! I meant to use those parts in the LDraw model, but I don't have them in the real one I built before putting it into LDraw, and I just forgot to fix it. The only thing with using SNOT is that I'm not very good at it and the walls at that point are only one stud thick. I actually have a few of these because a) I played with them when I was little, and b) I have 5 little brothers that still do play with them

    How did you find Eurobricks?

I actually heard about it awhile ago when Hinkley was interviewed on LAML. I lurked for a few months and then joined.
  20. I had the misfortune of not being old enough for Model Team when it was around and I don't exactly have the money to buy them on BL or ebay however, I have seen the sets and I would love to see the theme return - especially if we get big 1:13 models. I love those old foam tires that were actually proportioned right!
  21. holy sh*t i wish i had that many treads!! you wouldn't be interested in donating them to a worthy cause, would you?

LAMLradio - the Steve Witt interview

You'd have my support! I don't live close enough to a LUG to join, so I've been looking for an online LUG I could join. Sounds like a good idea.
  23. I am working on a bulldozer MOC, and I am wondering: does anyone know of a place where I can get some hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders that will work with LEGO for a reasonable price? BTW I've had other people that I should just use two official LEGO cylinders end-to-end, and there is no possible way that will work - it's a 1:7 scale model. Yes, I am seriously building a 5-foot long working dozer. Thanks for any ideas. Ras_Al_Ghul

    LEGO hydraulics

I would like it to be 8 studs across, and the outer shell about 40 studs long or so. I want the inner part to move as much as possible. Got any ideas?
  25. I made the mistake of putting a axle joiner in a 4 x 6 technic brick and pushing 2 stud axles in it. I ended up cutting the joiner with a hack saw to get it out.
