I already raised all my steet lamps to match the one in PR. I think it looks much better.

Very few of the minifigs wears clothes that resembles anything you'd wear "pre-war". I don't think TLG ever meant to put the modular sets in a specific time period or being "historically correct" in any sense, as it would limit the sets a lot, especially for playability. I think of the houses being built at a certain point in history, but I display them in the now.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Same here. The aligning issue is really annoying, I described it in more detail in another thread. -
Good looking. Especially the botom floor looks superb. Very well balanced color scheme. And the different sized windows was a good choice if you ask me. Some degree of assymetry is always nedded. I would've perhaps done even more to enhance that assymetry, maybe varied the colors of the flowers a bit. Gotta say your interior is excellent too. The skeleton is the icing on the (wedding) cake.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yes, I know they don't all look like that in the US, and I don't believe they do in China either. And that's why I don't like it. It's just Disneyworld corny. I want something more plain and realistic on my street. Something that fits in better with the other buildings. The base art deco part of the building is fine, I just want to tone down the chinese influences. Thanks, that is a superb mod! -

Double VIP points and 5% discount at LEGO stores today. I'm caving in and finally buying the Palace Cinema. I'd like to "europanize" it a bit though, don't like that chinese-american kitsch factor. Getting rid of those silly ornaments for starters, and maybe modding the tower a bit. And of course a complete redesign of the hideous limo. Anyone got some good ideas for that? -

I have PS to the left and GE to the right of FB. -
I am much more positive now than after seeing the first leaked pictures. This looks pretty great and the colors aren't as crazy as I initially thought.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I got a wife and a kid. I'm not rich, but I have enough money to buy the sets I want. Which are actually not that many per year, since I'm picky. I don't really have any other expensive hobbies either. But I got your point and I meant no offense. Reading this forum, I get the impression that many members spend a crazy amount of money on lego, buying multiple copies of every modular and whatnot. So at least for them, money should be no concern. They could still be in minority though I suppose. -

Sure, that might make sense. I understand that ten or twenty dollars matters to a lot of people. But when that's the case, I would advice not to spend hundreds of dollars on Lego either way. Living in Sweden, I know for a fact that no matter what price they set, it will be 30-40% more than the price you pay in the US. On the whole, a few euros more or less doesn't matter, in any case I'm going to pay way too much for a plastic toy :). -

It will be neither twice nor half the price of PR. It will be similar, that's what we can expect. So does it really matter if it's 149, 159 or 189 USD/AUD/EUR/GBP? We're all gonna buy it either way, ten or twenty bucks more/less won't change that. So why does the price seem to matter to some of you anyway? -

But on the box cover picture, ground floor looks exactly the same as the minifig's legs, so unless those are also cool yellow, which I doubt... but I hope you're right, we've got enough tan already :) -

That is tan, not some kind of yellow, on the bottom floor of the dtective building, right? Because it's the same color as the legs of a couple of the minifigs, and I doubt those are yellow. Seems like the images are very high on the brightness level. -

Hmm... I don't know what to think about this. I am not so overly positive as the majority of you seem to be. Looks a bit like an advanced City play set to me. Reminds me of the Bike Shop. As a standalone building it's interesting, but I wonder how it will go along with the other modulars. Will be interesting to see pictures of it lined up with some other buildings. The "extreme" mix of colors will also not make this set suitable for MOC'ing. -

I used to collect SW lego (Original Trilogy only), but I got tired of it. It's just grey grey grey. The best thing about SW lego is actually the minifigs, but if you're not into that.... Anyway, the Death Star is a really fun set, especially if you just watched the movies and get to relive some of the classic scenes while building it. Some of the UCS sets are nice too, but difficult to put on display due to size. -

Being a crate digger myself, this is my favorite suggestion for a modular so far. But I think it's a bit too niched to be a real contender for a future release. Guess we'll have to MOC it :) -
Gwail, you should put your "friendly" cars on Lego Ideas. I can definetely see the potential for a lot of votes, as well as LEGO realizing this concept since the number of parts are fairly small. I would buy every single one of your cars if they were official sets. But if this is not going to happen, maybe you could sell lxf files/instructions?

I'm just hoping a failure in sales for those crappy mini's won't prevent LEGO from releasing another "real" mini modulars set next year. -
Wow, that facade must've taken some time to build.
