I never would have thought about pirates eating sea turtles but it is pretty logical when you don't have much meat. The cutlass was designed to cut meat........... human meat. That is wrong. Imagine if you were chasing a sea turtle that escaped the net and stepped on one of those spikes. What is the name of the book?

This is really cool. I like the overall design of the castle. The forestmen wearing shades is a great touch.

St. Elizabeth Parish Church - Port of Brick Royal
Paul cantu replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wow! You captured all the detail of the real church in this moc. I really like the roof and the placement of all the windows. The interior is just as fantastic as the exterior. I can't wait until your port is complete. -
Your design is fantastic. It is really cool that they had rocket artillery back then. I think I might put some rocket artillery on my next ship.

These are really cool but where are the female faces?

We have our first Classic-Pirates LEGO Ambassador!
Paul cantu replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
Congratulations Bonaparte! You are a well deserving ambassador. I'm sure you will do an excellent job. -
After looking at Admiral M's LDD ship evolution I decided to make my own. My first ship was built a year ago to this month. I am curious to see everyone's skill progression so I ask anyone who wants to share their ship evolutions to post them here. 1 The Black and Red Pearl (you can tell this is my first ship just by the name) More pics: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/63241 2 The Cutlass More pics: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/69271 3 The Avenger More pics: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/72255 4 The Acadia More pics: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/76781 5 The Empress (in my opinion my best ship) More pics: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/86335 6 The Yellow Jacket More pics: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/131300 Now let's see yours.

$290 on pick a brick but I bet you could get it for half on bricklink. You have to consider these things my friend.

This seems really cool. I like the blue cannon flaps. It would be awesome if you built one of your LDD ships.

Nice it's on the front page. Here is the updated updated version. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/122511

My first (large) ship MOC. WIP - Feedback appreciated.
Paul cantu replied to Duck's topic in Pirate MOCs
Your films are some of the best I've ever seen. The comandeering one had some great action and this short one had some nice humor. Right now I am also building a large ship and I am encountering many of the same problems. 1) If you are going for a more cartoony look than you are fine with the current mid sections. Just make sure that the cabin is higher and extended backward with some arches. If you want a more realistic look then buy 2 or 3 more mid sections. 2) I recommend putting the stairs in the very front of the ship because your front doesn't have cannons in the way. If you tried to put them in the middle they might get in the way of the cannons and if you put them in the back all the sailors would have to enter the captains cabin to get below deck and I don't think that would fly to well with the captain. 3) The front looks very round and nice but it definatley needs some more detail. 4) Stick with the black and brown for the cabin but you need to add more black to rest of the ship especially the front if there is going to be a fair amount of black used on the cabin. 5) I think the red and blue cannon flaps are great together and add a nice royal touch but if you really want to stress that the ship belongs to the redcoats use all red. -
You captured the puny look quite well. But in all seriousness you need to build a lagitament Imperial ship. The pirates need some relatively equal competition that they can destroy. I do like the rockets you definately should include them in the next ship you make. I also would suggest destroying the BBB. At first I didn't want to destroy my ships but once I did and built my own I realized that the ship I built was better than the original.

The Yellow Jacket is the fastest imperial ship in the new world. It has one simple job: destroy all pirate vessels. With ten cannons and its smaller size, the Yellow Jacket is the bread and butter of the empire. I got really tired of looking at Brickbeard's Bounty so I decided to build another imperial ship to go along with the Empress and this is what I came up with. Please leave constructive criticism.

Any Idea When the Next Pirate Sets will be announced?
Paul cantu replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
I can tell you right now that I have never heard an American say what you just wrote. Then again I live in Texas where Canada isn't brought up much. Living in Texas there are many stereo types about us Texans. If there is a stereo type about the whole state of Texas it is ingnorant because Texas is way too huge to fall under one stereo type and the same is for Canada. Now back on subject: June is over and now it's July. Why haven't they leaked the sets yet? -
What do you want to see in the next round of the new line?
Paul cantu replied to martinsuper's topic in LEGO Pirates
I want: Sets An Imperial ship that is as large or larger than Brickbeards Bounty with a ship building style more like the old sets but some new colors and pieces. Definately some small Imperial fort sets that are modular(with blue baseplates). So you can combine them all and make a large fort. A small ship that is $15-30 maybe another imperial vessel or merchant ship. A colony set like the Medieval Market set. Some battle packs and accessory packs. A few Islander sets would be great. The Pirates and Imperials need a common enemy. Minifigures The Redcoats need new head varities. I wouldn't mind seeing some bluecoats but the reversal of the colors doesn't look quite as good as the redcoats. New islanders with tribal clothing and funny hats. Spainards would be cool but they need to release a lot of sets and not like last time. If they release a new faction they need to have a bunch of sets to promote its existence. More new torsos in particular civilian torsos. -
Woah! Captain Green Hair those are some spectacular ships. Your first ship after 6 years looks like that! I definately like your large ships much more than your small ships. I can't wait for The Prince Willim.

Thanks. Yes I am currently building a large pirate ship. I am not sure if i will post a WIP of it. I have a bunch of great ideas for it but I don't know where to start.

I call him Redbeard. I called him that ever since I got Redbeard's Runner. I didn't know he had another name.

Here are the piano pictures. I hope you can see how I built it from these pictures.

I guess I'll post a few pictures later today or tommorow.

Gentlemen, this is a day you will always remember...
Paul cantu replied to Talon Karrde's topic in Pirate MOCs
This is a great moc. The way the pirate is making a mockery of those redcoats you would think he was Jack Sparrow himself. -
Thanks. I actually drew the sails myself. I like building my ships with some realistic details but most of the detail comes off the top of my head. I don't like building historically accurate ships because so many people already do that and after a while most ships lose that creative touch that makes them unique. Thanks. I have no idea if the British regulars called naval ships yellow jackets I just thought the name fit my ship. Maybe someone else would know.

Oh okay that makes since. By the way your new avatar is awesome.

As soon as I saw the picture my jaw dropped. This is huge and full of detail. I love the interior. The bar has amazing detail and the wenchs are funny. I am confused about the pirate flags hanging outside and imperial officers staying inside.
